Carlitos Pizza

Ah Carlitos what a special place in my heart you have. You see there are certain places that really stick out in your mind when you start out at University and the amount of takeaway places you eat from it takes a special place to do so. Carlitos is one place which I will always fondly remember because I have had countless delicious takeaways from here admittedly most of them when I have been copiously drunk.
Carlitos is therefore always associated with good times, to be fair I’m not sure if it tastes so good sober but it has to be worth a go. The staff are amongst the friendliest I have encountered since coming to Liverpool and there service is top notch
If you live in the Smithdown area and you’re a drunken student type then Carlitos will be right up your alley.

Oh, Carlitos. The place reminds me of my first year at University, when our flat door would be filled with flyers from takeaways… namely of this establishment.
One evening we finally gave in and ordered ourselves a feast of burgers and pizzas. We were over-​the-​moon with the Student Meal Deal, a can of drink and pizza for a very reasonable price indeed. Our food took around forty minutes to arrive, and when it did, we were happy with its quality. My only criticism is that the pizza lacks tomato base, it’s way too cheesy for my tastes.
The Carlitos establishment is also very pleasant. With a nice seating area to munch your food or to sit in whilst waiting for your takeaway– it caters for all your needs.
A great place.

Amongst the myriad of takeaways along the student-​populated Smithdown Road, Carlitos stands out as probably one of, if not the best at the ancient art of combining cheese and tomato with bread. It offers the usual kebab/​pizza shop fare but it is their pizzas that really set it apart from the other Smithdown takeaways as they are consistently doughy, generously topped and delicious.
Carlitos also offers several meal deals which represent good value for money as many cost less than five pounds, including the ‘student special’ (or ‘student spesh’ as it is commonly known) — a personal favourite of mine.
Its quality food, excellent prices and cheerful staff leave you under no illusions as to where to go when on Smithdown Road — there is only one way; Carlito’s way.
