Matalan

This branch of Matalan is located in Wavertree, not too far from the city centre and easily accessible by public transport. I find Matalan a bit hit and miss. Sometimes you will find exactly what you need and more, and other times you won’t find anything. But when you do find what you need it will always be at a good price and of a decent quality.
One point I like about Matalan is the range of sizes they have available. In most of the women’s wear you can get anything from a size 6 right up to a size 20 and beyond. This is so rare these days, particularly in cheaper stores.
The rails are always well stocked and if your size isn’t out the staff will gladly go and check if there is anything in the stock room for you. The fitting rooms are reasonably sized but seem to be a little on the warm side as well as a bit cramped.
The staff are friendly and helpful and they always have a good amount of tills open so that you don’t have to wait too long to be served.

Good old Matalan. Although the receipts here could come with a guarantee declaring just how little attention you’ll get wearing their stock, it’s still a good place to pick up armfuls of cheap shirts and jeans. This is more the kind of stuff you’d wear to your aunt’s birthday as opposed to on the pull, game or cat walk.
The range can vary from ludicrously expansive to half a shelf to nothing at all. After losing my jacket in town I realised I needed one quick as it was raining. Matalan didn’t sell any. For a clothes shop that just seemed careless.
Quibble aside, this a mighty temple to the gods of frugality. The shirts, ties and suits are perpetually a good deal. Now, if I could just swing a job that warrants wearing any of them. I’d be sorted.

The wavertree Matalan is a large store and accommodates a large selection of clothes and home furnishing items that seem to cover a wide spectrum of taste. There are bargains to be found in Matalan — although not strictly a bargain shop, but timing can be important in finding good deals from it.
It has a large open, almost warehouse feel but is well laid out and the queues for the tills reflect this fact. The vast majority of the clothes seem to imitate latest trends rather than set any of their own, but all in all this is a decent shop thats worth a look in.

Matalan has always stocked a lot of clothing and homeware in terms of variety. This branch is quite large shelving some of the latest fashion trends whether it is footwear or summer clothing, according to the time of season.
Prices are not cheap nor are they expensive; they lie somewhere in between, so it is quite an average shop that sells average products of fair quality.
The strange thing I find about Matalan is why they need to be different from other clothes stores, not that it’s a big deal but they are unique because to shop here, you must become a member. You will be issued with a loyalty membership card so you will often gain small benefits after so much spending. If you’re the type of person who always buys your clothes at one store, then this is an advantage but if you’re not, then there’s not really much point. Matalan is the only clothes shop I know where you must sign up in order to buy their products. This can only be a marketing strategy of theirs.

Matalan is quite a large store that has so much choice! The clothes are nice and quite cheap. Whenever I go it seems to be quite empty and peaceful, but maybe that beacause there is a Next Clearance next door to it! As well as clothes, Household products are sold though I don’t normally buy them. There is plenty of car parking available.

Huge variety of goods on offer — home bits, mens, womens and childrens clothes all at reasonable prices. Worth having a look, but i prefer Ethel Austins.

This is a very large shopping outlet in the Wavertree area of Liverpool very close to the city centre. It has a wide variety of items at low prices, clothing, christmas items, holiday essentials. There is just so much to choose from. There is alot of staff members who are more than willing to help if you cant reach items. They also have a changing room area available if you want to try on your clothes. There is alot of tills in this store so you are never waiting more than 5 minutes to be served. Stock is always available and if they dont have your size just ask a staff member as they have a large stockroom upstairs so they might have your size. I would give this store ⁸⁄₁₀ excellent

Very easily accessible from all parts of Liverpool. This is a nice big matalan which contains a wide variety of fashion and furnishings at reasonable prices. Good range of ladies, mens and children’s clothes and shoes, plus an excellent home department. Lovely designs in bed linen etc I always pop in looking for a bargain and end up spending far more than I was planning to because everything is so nice! Thre is also a party shop which is the cheapest I hav found in Liverpool for helium balloon decorations. Just place your order and then go and pick up later. Good car parking just a bit of a nightmare getting out as the lights are not in your favour!

A very large Matalan store which was only built a few years back. It is very modern and has a large choice of both clothes and household goods. There are also lots of counters to keep waiting time at the tills to a minimum.
The bargains in this store are absolutely terrific.
Plenty of parking outside. A must visit for anybody who wants a good shopping trip.
