not even worth one star, there were pubic hairs in my drink and the waitress was extremely snobby however the setting is OK and there was a lovely view of the road. not!

We love going to Owens. For a really reasonable price they offer a 2 course set menu with really good food. We live just down the road from the restaraunt so it is very much our local and this seems to be the general feel about the place. Nearby residents tend to dine there again and again. The food is really high quality, cooked simply but really well. The staff are attentive enough without being intrusive. It can be difficult to get a table sometimes but I guess that’s just a sign of a popular place.

Owens is a popular restaurant that overlooks the roundabout at Fiveways. It’s smart interior is not too crowded with tables and there is a good looking well stocked bar. I love the menu although its void of punctutation and capital letters which obviously only get in the way of deciding what you want to eat. If you are not eating at peak time on a Friday or Saturday they offer some good value menus with a choice of 12 different starters and mains. Beautifully laid tables, friendly service and good food awaits.

Owens is a great restaurant, and is celebrated locally for having great food at affordable prices. I disagree with the review below, I don’t think that it’s in the middle of nowhere, Childwall Fiveways is home to quite a few places, including Wetherspoons and Spiceways. It is always busy so I do suggest booking and not just turning up because you will be sent away with an empty tummy. The food is decent, I suggest the chicken with mango and lime — random but good! You can expect to get a three course meal for two, with a bottle of wine for about £50−60.

Back in the day my friend used to play piano here. I know, it seems unusual that a) I’d be consorting with people clever enough to play the piano and b) there would be a piano bar/restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Well, technically Childwall Fiveways isn’t the middle of nowhere — it’s a very important roundabout that leads to all sorts of wondrous places — like the city centre or the motorway… Anyway. Owens is one of those places that you can never seem to get a booking even though it never seems full. It also seems to be quite a large restaurant considering it is outside the city centre, but I guess it’s one of a kind in the area and the locals like somewhere they can stagger home from. Known locally for having the best prices and food, and with pretty good service, Owens is somewhat a hidden gem in the midst of suburbia.
