Located on Duke Street, The Brunch Club is slightly tucked away from the likes of Seel/Bold/Fleet Street so you’re more likely to be able to grab a table during busy periods. We popped in for Sunday breakfast after a busy weekend in the city as our apartment at StayCity is next door. The exterior is rather grand with some lovely window vinyl decorations. The strange santa statue was slightly offputting but, it being the festive season of goodwill etc., there are some things you have to overlook! We were warmly greeted by one of the waitresses and sat down at one of the ‘high’ tables with bar stool seats. The menu isn’t vast but there are some tasty options available. I quickly decided on the pancakes — with bacon for good measure(after all, it was my pre-birthday weekend…) Drinks and food were delivered in a timely manner and always with a smile. The pancakes were good, thick and fluffy, though they suffered the same fate as most other pancakes restaurants serve in that there was simply not enough maple syrup! The top pancake was the most moist but by the time you get to the third there’s hardly any moisture left. Service was the true highlight of this visit as, although the food was good, it certainly didn’t stand out against the other meals we had over the weekend. A maybe for next time.

The food is amazing but the service needs work! Décor is very good! I don’t think they are well equipped for a busy Sunday morning
