Not a bad place to grab a snack. So far, I have only tried the ‘shwraps’ which are a bit of a cross between giant maki sushi and wraps. The sweet chilli and salmon one was pretty good as was the avocado and ginger shwrap. I like the look of the sushi here far more than the offerings at nam-po inside the station. I think that they also sell smoothies, soups, salads and cakes. There is plenty of space to sit and eat outside if the sun is shining(although you’ll be sitting in the middle of Euston stations’s smoking area)…if not, just take your abokado food onto your tube/train and much it in front of other hungry commuters. Mwahahaha.

I was on my way to the North, I was hungry and I was more than a mite hungover when I spied Abokado. It served Phở! My favourite hangover cure! And sushi wraps! Could anything be more perfect? Well, as it is, yes. Although it was in the right place at the right time, I couldn’t help finding the food at Abokado rather disappointing. Although their Phở was packed full of noodles, the soup itself was thin, watery and tasted all wrong. Phở should be bursting with lemongrass, star anise and all sorts of wonderfully fragrant flavours. This tasted sour and rank, and was full of little grey meatballs which tasted of nothing and had the consistency of mini cannonballs. If I’d had a slingshot handy, I could easily have aimed them at the chuggers which kept attempting to destroy my afternoon reverie. I fared better with the Crayfish and Avocado ‘shwrap’ — which sounds like a euphemism for onanism, but is actually a larger than average sushi roll. Mine was bursting with fillings, and whilst it wasn’t brilliant, it was certainly fresh with plenty of chunks of avocado and crayfish. Abokado is OK, but it has a long way to go before I’d consider going there again for a pre journey fare. Next time I might try my luck with the rather impressive sausage stand situated next door. Sorry Abokado.
