This M and S store is one for«Simply Food» it is located in Euston Station, and its’ gluten free range was the sole purpose of this being the first place I visited after arriving in London. They had a small range of GF sandwiches including a Cheese Ploughman’s(my favourite), they were hard to notice due to being on the top shelf, right at the back, so I had to get a member of staff to stand on a ladder and reach one down for me. My sandwich was quite pricey at £3.60 and unlike other sandwiches, it had little to no toppings on, normally it is filled with veg and things of that nature, but my sandwich was basically cheese, which honestly is barely what I ordered and certainly not worth the price. They is quite a few entrances and exits for this store, including one in the station and one to the street, If I recall correctly. The store is quite cramped and crowded but is still a nice place to go for some food to go when arriving in Euston, but the problem is posh Mark’s and Spencer pricing including £3.60 for a measly gluten free sandwich. The checkout process is quite quick, and in Post Office format. Due to it’s location and probably being one of the best places for go to food, the rating it deserves is probably 3 stars, but that rating is based solely on the location, if it was in a place with more to choose from or in the city centre, it would definitely get just 2 stars but its’ location has won it a third.

Klare Empfehlung! Viele Eigenprodukte.

I love these markets! Some range from a smaller store branch to a big one. I have noticed that not all of them carry some items I bought at one to another, chocolate milk wasn’t in the huge one in the train station but was in the smaller one. Odd! The people are always nice and helpful, I’ll ask questions as to what they like and what’s better, and they’ll tell me. Great for foreigners! Lol definitely stop in if you need something before you go home or to stock up on snacks for your hotel room or train trip.

This store was previously pretty hectic and didn’t have much room to move, but they’ve recently extended it(think it’s being finished off at the moment) and the tills have been moved which makes shopping there a little easier. Apart from this, standard M&S simply food range — good quality, but there’s less stock here than there is at the larger branch on Camden High Street.

This marks and spencer simply food is located near the trains at Kings Cross. It is not as modern as the ones in St. Pancras, but it serves its purpose. It is a food only shop, particularly good for grabbing food on the go. They sell lots of sandwiches and crisps, and other snacks you may need. Unfortunately they do not have a bakery section, which would be a nice addition. They also have lots of ready meals and food for cooking as well, as well as a few normal groceries. The staff are very friendly and polite — it is usually very busy, however they deal with the crowds very well with organised queuing areas.

Too small for you to pull your case around and buy something. Isn’t very friendly for walking stick users either.

I’ve used this outlet of M&S Simply Food on a number of occasions before catching trains up the West Coast main line(largely because I’m a sucker for their avocado salad sandwiches). Although, as Amethyst says, the shop is large enough to have a decent range, there isn’t nearly enough circulating room in my view, and the queues seem permanently long(in stark contrast to the Victoria or Paddington branches, for example). My last experience felt like something out of the game ‘Twister’ as, at 11:00 in the morning,(so hardly a peak period) I had to manœuvre myself and my overnight bag past other customers, with lots of polite requests for others to move so I could actually reach the relevant shelf on the sandwich display. More contortions were required to navigate past yet more luggage-carrying passengers to the checkouts, and yet more to get out of the store. The simply act of buying a sandwich and paying for it took well over ten minutes, and others found the experience pretty stressful too. Next time I’ll stick my head in and judge how busy it is before committing myself!

Handy to be able to stock-up on your favourite M&S items, or some reliably fresh and healthy travel supplies, before you trek-off to board your train. Although, the recommendation comes with the proviso that you have time to spare, as the queues were pretty awesome(not to say off-putting) when I came here(nowhere near rush hour), on a recent Thursday morning. It’s a decent sized-store, so there is a good choice on offer. I opted for some delectable-looking cherries, as a healthy summer treat. I waited patiently in-line, then was shocked to discover they cost more than double what I had been led to believe. The check-out person insisted on going to verify the price with the shelf label. He returned to inform me that, yes, it was confusing… there were two sizes and amazingly he let me have the large pack for the price of the small one, even though I requested no such favours! I left impressed at the customer service, with a smile on my face; although shocked that the original price of a large pack of cherries was close to £8!
