Great pub and very good food.

Great for beer. Steer clear If you are looking for good food. Buns were hard as rock on the burgers, taste was mediocre at best. Seems to be a popular locals place for drinks and watching football (soccer for us Americans).

Perfect for Coldplay fans, as its pretty much the only music that is played! And not too loud either, so good for talking and having a chat with mates.
They offer NUS discounts for students, and they have a massive telly in a room at the back for sports as well as an xbox 360 during quieter times.
Will definitely be going back to this pub again when I’m back in the area!

This is a slightly curious looking pub but every time I have been here it has been packed. You can tell that the interior has been modernised, but fortunately that oldy worldy pub charm is still present and the bar is propped up by the more elderly looking folk who probably have lots of interesting stories to tell.
The price of drink is on the more expensive side (£3.40 for a small glass of wine) but I very much enjoyed the house red and good expensive booze is better than vile and cheap I say. If you are a student however and can present your student card, you are liable for a discount which is probably why the place is also brimming with young folk. The décor has a slightly dark, dingy feel but I personally find that appealing as with the candles and sofas it is comfy, cosy and lovely for a relaxing drink on a chilly evening or afternoon.
My only gripe was that the food took a while to arrive but we were kindly offered a drink on the house for waiting. I definitely think this is more of a winter pub and it has become a personal firm favourite.

My friend works here and says she really enjoys it, i personally have never been in here. i used to work just up the road at the yacht and always used to walk past on my way to the post office and greggs! Never had the thrill of wanting to go in though. i’m not really sure on why though?
I’m sure maybe it is worth the visit, but it just seems a bit dark? or am i the only one who thinks so? oh well, maybe i need a bit of discount from my friend. hopefully shes reading! lol!
I obviously can’t give much else other than outside/​exterior appearinances.

I don’t get excited about it in here. It’s a bit dull in the evening. Full of students who talk loudly about annoying stuff. During the day it’s dull. The bar staff are hot though. But not so hot that it’s worth coming here just to flirt with them. Shame. Despite it’s popularity, this pub doesn’t seem to have much going for it.
Maybe I’m missing the point?

Looks like it’s always busy. Good beer on the tab and special offer for students, the toilets are not impressive at all. Interesting interior design and quite a cosy atmosphere.
It’s worth visiting anyway, try weekdays to avoid the crowd.
