Labeanese restaurant in Chelsea area. We had dinner here twice during our one week stay in London. We enjoyed the falafel, chicken shawerma, and lentil soup. The price is very affordable considering you’re in Chelsea

Amazing food! Lamb Shawarma is one of the best I have had! Friendly staff and fast service! Not much more you could ask for!

Also wenn man kurz vor dem verhungern ist, sollte man doch hier essen. Vom Service ist weder bitte noch Danke zu erwarten. Hör wird man eben auf das nötigste reduziert — bezahlen eben.

Not everybody’s favourite but I’ve got a soft spot for this place, so much so I live with its eccentricities. I’ve been going for the 14 years I’ve lived in London. It’s got more expensive following the refurbishment after the fire but the food is still great. Generally we pick our staple favourites but you only have to look over at other people’s tables to get food envy. A great sunday lunch hangout for me and the family.

Lebanese restaurant in the middle of Chelsea! It was 8pm and we tried to find a place that was not a coffee shop around Sloane Square and off Kings Road. We saw this tiny restaurant what appeared to be a Lebanese and thought why not! There is not much space, about 10 tables. The staff was really nice and very fast. I ordered Kebab and it was delicious. It was served with salad and spicy sauces. I ate it all. So deliciously prepared. Now its time to look for a nice Lebanese restaurant in Edinburgh.

#Yelp review of #AlDar #kingsroad Neighbourhood favourite Al Dar closed down for some refurbishments but has reopened up again like a shinier version of its old self. As a locals place, no one really wants change do they? we just wanted them back. So this is good news as this small, cozy Lebanese establishment has kept all their classic menu favourites just in brighter surroundings. Take away is available in case you want that Lamb Shawarma to go… Welcome back!

Al Dar II is fine… if you don’t know any better. Totally up itself without good reason. Each visit, I experience either blatantly rude service, slow service or both. Last time, I waited for five minutes for someone to acknowledge my existence and take my order; and after paying, the man threw my change down on the counter. That was disrespectful – a disgrace, really.(Maroush is just as awful, but at least the food is better. Cyprus Mangal has staff with pleasant attitudes, great prices and the best food out of all of them/rant over). The food is a disappointment; underseasoned and uninspired. The avocado juice/shake is the sole reason for my visits, though I’ve weaned myself away from such frequency because usually: the avocados aren’t ripe and they are unable to make it, they’ve run out of avocados and are unable to make it, or I’m annoyed because the customer service on a previous visit was seriously lacking. Not winning combinations. They would do well to make some changes if they do not want to isolate their base. No restaurant should be so arrogant as to think service isn’t important; there are simply too many wonderful options in London.

Good Lebanese on the King’s Road. Can’t really go wrong with a lamb shawarma for only £3.50! There are some better places, but none within walking distance, so it’ll hit the spot if you’re in the mood for Lebanese.

Super affordable, large portions, and if you ask the guy really nicely he’ll let you taste the ouzo type licorice liquor for free! They have these gyro type things that are handy to grab and go but definitely stay and enjoy multiple things on the menu. We sat outside, Kings Road is very posh, watch the young n fabulous walk by.

Reasonable and delicious Lebanese restaurant on fancy King St. The shwarma is great – chicken and lamb. We also ordered their vegetarian meze platter, which included hummus, baba and the other usuals. It was a good portion size. We also order a chicken tawook platter, which came with salad and garlic paste. It was good but I was expecting a little more chicken, especially compared to the portion size of the chicken shwarma. I think they forgot to bring us another salad and charged us, but didn’t realize it until after we left. Overall, I great stand by if you’re in Chelsea. This would be a regular go-to place if I lived in the area.

I must say I have to agree with simaosig. The worst part of my last trip here being the melon juice that tasted like over-priced tap water. The waiters are just plain rude, and are incapable of getting your order right, and what they serve up little better than a chicken shish from kebab zero after a drunken Saturday night out in Shoreditch. Al Dar II ain’t no improvement on the lebanese cuisine. but alas seems to stick around like a bad whiff …

Great tasting Lebanese food. We split a huge plate of lamb shawarma with hummus. The portion was huge, easily enough for 2 people. Very fairly priced too. The service is fast bit indifferent, but no big deal: this is the kind of place you come to for good authentic eating, not impeccable service.

This restaurant is another example of how bad lebanese restaurants can success, all the food served here apart from the kebabs and some juices are not fresh and old and every time I go there I just feel ripped off. The seating is just plain rubbish, seats are as dirty as those belonging to a fast food restaurant that opened in the 70s and are still in use today, and tables are just cramped. Service is even worse than the food and setting. Despite that the restaurant is usually full at busy times and I guess that is due to two reasons(for which I am giving an extra star) and that is the freshness of grilled meat and kebabs which just taste fresh. So, If you are ever in King’s road and decide to stop there don’t order any starters, just order grilled meat, if you want to order fresh juice order one that you like and don’t order cocktails. Sometimes they over-marinate the meat in shawerma to the extinct that you feel that you are eating a lemon peel, so that is one other thing to be careful about.

Yum — one of the only things that I miss in London that I can’t find even a reasonable replacement for — the halumi sandwiches at Al Dar! Just Halumi and tomatoes — and nothing else — toasted and its pure heaven! Al Dar is awesome I used to go here all the time when I lived right near by they also have one of my favorite things — freshly squeezed OJ — one halumi sandwich and one fresh OJ later and the world looks like a much better place — I can’t speak to much else on the menu — I think they had french fries and I think they were delicious and I’ve gone here with friends and family and everyone always seemed satisfied with what they got — so I can easily assume everything is as yummy as my favorite combination — but I have scoured most of central London from south ken to edgeware road for the same gorgeous combination of grilled humus and fries and fresh OJ — and nothing — not even Beirut Express — matched Al Dar in its simple deliciousness.

Horrible food. The gyro meat was overcooked and dry. All their cold appetizers were very sour and bland. Their saving grace(which is why I’m giving two stars as opposed to one) was their fruit juice — very refreshing and tasty!

The food here was decent here but the service was not quite spot-on(hence the missing stars). I went with a mate of mine and it took us quite a long time to get our food and when we did get it, they completely forgot about my friend’s main course, yet they still managed to put it on the bill. I hope to give it another chance when I am back in town.

Like to pop in for a light snack — falafel, stuffed grape leaves, hommos, and spinach/cheese triangles. Yum! Sometimes we don’t even sit down we wolf everything immediately!

The default option for Lebanese on King’s Road. There’s nothing very special about this place in terms of food or décor, but it *is* open rather late, and hence, I ended up here with a friend to fuel up just before a night of clubbing. We ordered the spicy hummus and a couple small halloumi sandwich wraps. The spicy hummus was a delicious hot alternative to your typical version. And the wraps were made all the better with the pungent white garlic sauce(though we regretted it later) and the ground chili sauce. What we ordered was more than enough food to leave us completely satiated, especially since our waiter, who seemed inordinately interested in watching us eat and making sure we liked it(must have had something to do with the club clothes), made us feel compelled to eat as much as we could. As if that weren’t enough, *then* he brought us complimentary baklava(not complaining — I can’t say ‘no’ to baklava — merely stating)… and *then* strawberries — each time making sure we enjoyed every last morsel. In all frankness, I think we would have enjoyed this place more sans the excessive attention from our waiter — it was all a little awkward — and we left much fuller than we intended!

One of the smells that might greet you on Kings Road is the smell of roasting meat, and what a smell it is. Upon sniffing the air, you’ll find that this gorgeous smell of warm pitta and meat comes from Al-Dar and you will want to instantly sit down and order, something, anything. I’ve eaten in and out, and both are good experiences though I prefer to eat out and sit in Duke of York Square. I generally have the wraps, the falafel is great and the lamb shawarma one of best I’ve had. The food is really well prepared and it’s not greasy but the right blend of meat, pickles, salad and wrap. I can never resist grabbing a bit here and it’s so nice to have something made right in front of you, who would want to go to a generic sandwich chain?

One of the few reasonable and good quality little restaurants at the business end of the King’s Road — Al Dar II serves up authentic Lebanese food. It’s a small place with an inside space that is dedicated more towards displaying the food and preparing the food than to tables. This creates a nice bustling atmosphere and it’s pretty easy to see what you fancy and what to have next as you go along. In the better weather they have some tables outside and with a nice bit of falafel and one of their great fresh juices it’s as nice a place as any to grab a quick lunch.

Al-Dar II is probably the most expensive kebab restaurant in London, at least in my experience, and it’s probably the best. With and exceptional location right in the heart of the King’s Road, it’s been there for ages, and it is an institution on its own right. All the ingredients are super fresh, and aside from your typical kebab they sell lovely fresh juices. If you walk out of the Sloan Square tube its probably a 5 minute walk, so you can start salivating as soon as you get out of the tube and be sure that you will be satiated in no time. If you like spicy sauces, be sure to get their spicy sauce and pour generously on your falafel sandwich, but ask for it as it’s not on the menu.
