Fabulously good, like home cooking. Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service. Delicious Persian tea. We’ll be back! The lamb stew special with superfine in s tomato sauce, so satisfying and I’ve never had rice so fluffy and perfect. But don’t forget to try the fresh flatbread!

I love the Tuesday special. The fresh bread oven in the restaurant, the amazing quality of the lamb and chicken — they even do take away. Recommended to any lover of authentic Persian food served by friendly people for very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Pleasant environment, friendly service, and generous helpings of tasty food. But menu is fairly generic Middle Eastern, without a great selection of speciality Persian dishes.

Friendly service with AMAZING food in a comfy place! Ambience: 4 stars. Very comfortable place; tastefully decorated with culturally appropriate items. Service: 5 stars. We had the best server! She knew the menu inside and out and was clearly passionate about the restaurant and the food! Food: 4 stars. Delicious! We started with an appetizer plate that included hummus and several other toppings for their freshly made flat bread! Lamb and chicken kabobs, with amazing rice, and even a slightly spicy chicken soup! Alcohol: they don’t serve alcohol – but I was told you can bring your own wine with you if that is your thing. Cost: 4 stars. This is a great deal in London. We spent 60 pounds on dinner for 4, but we ordered a lot of things so we could try them all. You could easily share these huge plates and cut that bill in half — and that would be a great deal for really good food served in a really comfortable setting!

Yummy place for some chicken kabobs and rice. My hubby got the minced lamb and we were both unimpressed. The hummus was a bit bland too add some garlic to that please. The place had more people working there than were eating there and the service was still slow. Maybe we got them on an off night. The Naan however was fresh and tasty.

Alounak invariably provides a tasty meal. The kebabs, stews and appetizers are hot and fresh. The bread, from the traditional oven, tastes wonderful(make sure to order extra) — the oven does heat the restaurant to an unbearable temperature though. Request a table away from the oven, or prepare to suffer. I agree with the other Unilocalers — the service is a bit strange. At times, I had to flag down the servers, who seemed busy, distracted, but pleasant.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food. The rice was a big hit in our group. Service was mixed — some people were super friendly and helpful, and others… versed in the fine art of no-eye-contact-I-don’t-see-you. Make sure you order enough bread. We tried to order more, but it didn’t come. You’ll definitely want plenty if you order bread-friendly starters like hummus. For dessert we had an assortment of sweets — very rich and full of honey — and saffron ice cream. One of the sweets is one that I had never liked in the states, but was amazingly good here. It’s BYOB, so be sure to stop by the corner store for some wine or beer before you come.

Alounak is one of my favourite restaurants in London and I’m a regular customer there! The food is always good and the staff is always friendly. The price is excellent too! If you enjoy a cozy place and yearn for Middle Eastern /Iranian food and have a limited budget, then this is the place to choose!

Alounak is an attractive, colourful Iranian restaurant, with a huge traditional Persian bread making oven. It has been busy every single time I have ever driven or walked past it, so I had high expectations for it, but sadly menu did not have much to choose from. In my eyes, or in my taste buds, Iranians do the best rice in the world, and every dish in Alounak comes with it, apart from the starters of cause. To be honest, Alounak is definitely not the greatest Iranian restaurant I have been to, due to the lack of choice and on top of that, it had no deserts! I was pleased to find a huge portion of rice with my dish. They lay the rice all over your plate, you could see the yellow orangey saffron and butter it was cooked in. I love Iranian rice! They then placed the chicken on top of the rice. Very tasty
