I was there 2 or 3 times with friends who had showed me this restaurant in Brixtion. Every times all of us left happy and very full;-) Excellent value for many with real south American kitchen. I recommend biggest(churasco) steak on the menu. Real pleasure. Mostly visited by south Americans it will take you to the roots.

Excellent truly local spot in Brixton, transporting you to the tastes of South America and salsa. No fluff or strass here. You get the real deal. We went as a friend of us wanted to go salsa dancing. This is a great venue, well roots. Décor is definitly outdated which adds to the charm of the place. Go there to have fun, not for a romantic date.

Amazonica is hidden gem in London, its a great place to eat due to the rich variety of south american food — most of the dishes are colombian. I recommend the ‘carne la brasa’ at least its something like that lol! consisting of a big fillet of steak, rice, potatoes, salad & plantain, you MUST try the ‘ahi’ which is chilli, it’s a nice and common accompaniant to many latin dishes. Its a bit pricey at £10.50 but the quality of the food is very good and the portion size is generous, i took the rest home in a doggy bag! Friday and saturday night is ‘la rumba’ like a party, its £6 to get in after a certain time and unless your a hardcore salsa fan then It may not be for you because it does get a bit repetive occasisionally they’ll play the odd reggaeton song. Drinks are a bit pricey though. What people tend to do is go in groups and put together to buy a bottle of whisky which is about £60 — YES I KNOW, ITSEXTORTIONATE, but once you spread the cost its not so bad. Alot of the crowd that go are young south americans — again mainly colomobians. The staff are pleasant you might get the odd moody one, but its very rare. The décor is wayyyyyy dated but I think they are trying to preserve a traditional colombian setting. Overall This is worth going to if you want to have a taste of another culture.
