Great family dining. Lots of options. Kids menu. Good pizza. My daughter got the crab and prawns ravioli and loved it.

The food is pretty great all round, nothing I’ve had there has ever not been good — I have eaten there a lot as its between where I used to work and the station. Ideal if you are in the waterloo area and fancy a glass of wine after work too…

After being in Paris for 4 days, thus was our first meal here that did not include steak and fries. What a breath of fresh air.
We had the rigatoni that was pretty good, had a spicy kick to it. We also had the pollo Alfredo pizza that was super delicious. Posted a picture of it.
The service was pretty good, super grateful to have such a good meal after being stuck with a lack of variety of food to eat. The folks here were really nice unlike in Paris too.

I’m actually a bit surprised at some of the reviews on this one, although I’m sure the time of day may have made a difference for us. And our waiter was so amazing, that definitely figured into our enjoyment of the place.
We visited late in the evening for dessert & coffee after experiencing the London Eye, and were served by a charming young man originally from Spain. He was absolutely delightful & is definitely an asset to the restaurant. I wish that we’d noted his name, as I would have liked to pass along our thanks to the management.
When a young lady brought our desserts out, she noticed that our table was wobbly & immediately took action to fix that without our prompting. Our young waiter, when I remarked how much I liked the coffee, went out of his way to find out what kind it was.
The desserts were lovely, but it was the staff that made the difference for us! Incidentally, the atmosphere is lovely as well.

This is my comfort place and my comfort food. I really enjoy so much having a dinner in here at azzuro Italian bar and kitchen. I like their foods and drinks. I’m so happy to be here. And I’m so excited to be back here again.

Their lunch special is pretty good value. approximately 7 pounds for any pasta or pizza + a drink. On their regular menu, the pasta and pizzas are 7 to 10 pounds.
I tried two different pasta — the tagliatelle pollo picante (spicy chicken) and the penne pollo e funghi (chicken and mushroom) in cream sauce. Both were okay (bland like london food), though I definitely preferred the cream sauce over the red sauce. I got a pineapple juice go to with it, which made me very happy as most places don’t have pineapple juice (and certainly not free with meal).
Their desserts are actually quite good. I had a coffee and banana cake that i thoroughly enjoyed.
This place is also great for kids. They have a kids menu that has a large picture for you to colour in, and some simple word search puzzles. They give you a box of crayons. How do I know this? Not because I went there with a kid or anything. unless you count my boss and my coworkers to be kids, as we had a ball colouring in the menus we took from tables that had kids who left their menus behind, which brings me to the fact that the atmosphere is fairly relaxed there and the servers are very friendly. They even gave us our own kids menus so we can colour them: P
The place is bigger than it looks. The front looks small, but it ends up being huge in the back.

This place is awesome! Seriously. It’s been a bit since I’ve last been in, but it’s definitely on my list of «must dine here» places when visiting London. From the location (it’s wedged under railway arches near Waterloo) to the décor and ambiance (very laid back and wine-​bar chic), it’s definitely on it. On my last visit I ordered the Tortelloni which was amazing (it was so good that if I could’ve gotten away with licking the bowl, I would’ve!) and my husband had the lamb dish, which, based upon how quick he inhaled it, was quite good as well!

I think I mostly enjoy visiting this place for nostalgia reasons; it seemed very grown-​up and cool when I first graduated and came to London. It probably isn’t all that cool, really. It’s a bit like an un-​branded Pizza Express but it does have the advantage of being housed in a cavernous railway arch in an über-​convenient spot opposite Waterloo station, so I can’t really complain. I’ve had many more than passable meals here and they let you linger over your food as long as you like.

I have eaten here before and the food was ok but service was slow. However, on the last occasion we turned up for the pre 5.00 offer which is pretty good in London, despite being there at 4:45 and having to go and get a waiter at 4:55 the waiter appeared at the table exactly at 5:00 to tell us that the deal had finished. I have seen the reviews on this and other sites and it seems to be a common thread. Food is ok, service is terrible. If you do persevere with this Restaurant I would watch your bill as they are obviously only interested in ripping people off. As the waiter would not budge on his opinion we did not sample the food this time and are unlikely to visit again.

Very disappointing experience. Attended with a group of 8 friends on a Saturday afternoon.
Adjacent table was left with dirty plates on for the duration of our meal, and service seemed disinterested at best.
I had olives as an appetiser, a dish which even I can prepare to perfection, yet theirs tasted like they’d been left out for a week or six.
I had the seafood pasta for main course, which was unspectacular, prawns were rubbery. Some friends had pizza, which was better but still inferior to your average Pizza Express.
Finally, the restaurant is located in an arch under a train track, which is very noisy every 2 – 3 minutes.
In conclusion: find better.

This was such a disappointing meal! Despite a nice looking venue and fairly interesting menu, it turned out a bad evening. Service was worse than bad, it was almost non-​existent. Waiters weren’t rude, they just didn’t come to our table at all! In the end we moved our plates with half eaten food to another table ourselves, after giving up waiting for service. The pizza was just about ok, but a steak had to be sent back as it was tough as a door knob! To their credit they didn’t argue and didn’t charge for it. But does that mean they already knew it was terrible, I wonder???
Despite our poor experience we decided to move to the bar area for another glass of wine. The girl behind the bar was really lovely and you can’t go that wrong with bottled wine, so it all ended on a positive note. Come for a drink, but be warned, don’t stray into the restaurant area!

Azzuro could be really stunning with its unique location under the arches of Waterloo station. Sadly the restaurant has opted for quantity over quality, cramming as many tables into the space as humanly possible in order to maximise turnover. The service was scarily speedy, to the extent that our food arrived within about five minutes of ordering it, even before our drinks had had the chance to be poured at the bar. The speed at which the food left the kitchen could only lead us to the conclusion that they definitely don’t cook their food to order.
Despite all of this, the food wasn’t bad and the atmosphere is pleasant. But it’s not the kind of restaurant in which you could kick back and while away a few hours.

I went here for a lunch and was really dissapointed as was my friend. We both opted for pasta but it really did look like it had been left on the side for hours on end and it had no taste whatsoever.
Service was inpersonal, place was dark and plain.
Wouldn’t recommend it, much nicer places to go in the area.

Good place for a warming cup of tea after a stroll along the river. The seats on the uppoer floor are nice.
Apart from that the place a has a bit of nightclub feeling to it, tables (except fro those on the balcony) are rather small and I found it a bit … smelly?

I love the atmosphere here, really cool place. The food is really good too — I’ve only ever had one thing though because I keep getting it! It’s the pasta with salmon and asparagus in a light cream sauce, yum! Not quite as good as Stef’s (my favourite) but still very tasty and affordable with a good ambiance.

Standard semi-​fancy modern Italian. Nice setting inside the railway archs just north of Waterloo station, on your way towards the South Bank Centre.
I was in here during the day. It was nearly empty, so not much buzz to it. But the pizzas we had were reasonably priced, substantial, tasty, and well-​cooked.
The wine was a bit on the pricey side.

AZZURO is right in the heart of waterloo, it is an italian bar and kitchen that serves all sorts of pasta to the very best of lovely italian wines, its a lovely place to hang with mates and prices are relatively alright for the average man/​woman, during busy periods the bar is always filled up with people, sometimes you need to make reservations

Azzurro is really a nice place to celebrate a posh birthday. One of my friends celebrated her 18 birthday and if you could see the faces of all the invitees when they arrived there. The place looks rich-​people arena and the pizza was fantastic. The mozzarella (Italian cheese) was all over the pizza that I felt tears at the thought of starting eating it. IT WAS TOO DELICIOUS GUYS! If you want to impress some one, Azzurro is the place. I don’t know if the menus are too expensive because my friend paid for everyone. (YES, she’s got money!) It would be worth it though. Wellplease don’t end up in debts 4 a pizza!
