A sumptous dinner in one of London’s worst kept secrets, a night in this quirky restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Cocktails are spot on and their fusion cuisine with twists on British, Southern European and Middle Eastern classics is out of this world.

Fun and odd and interesting all at the same time. Heavy on fish as the chef is from Scandinavia so heads up on that.
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed being seated with strangers. A couple left as they didn’t know what to expect and were negatively surprised but if you are adventurous this is your place!

Nice ambiance and service, but vegan option was not worth the price. They basically took the vegetables from other dishes without adding anything to make it taste good, despite our calling a week in advance. Gourmet food prices for something that would cook in fifteen minutes.

Back in July, I had the chance to dine at Back in 5 Minutes, the permanent residence of the Disappearing Dining Club, and it proved to be a treat.
Walking along Brick Lane as I’ve done hundreds of times, I didn’t really know what to expect, as the space is hidden in the back of Ante, one of the many vintage clothing shops on Brick Lane. But as you stroll through the shop and pull back the curtains at the rear, what greets you may come as a bit of a shock. Back in 5 Minutes arguably has the most beautiful dining room I’ve ever been in. Low light, warm colors, candles, and beautiful wooden tables are all on show here.
The night proved to be a bit of a blur as we’d just come from a whiskey tasting, but from what I remember the food was pretty outstanding. Communal tables and large family style platters of various excellent dishes are the standard here, and as this was part of a work event the prices were of no significance (though upon looking at the website after I gulped).
When we finally left at around half past twelve, stepping out into the pouring rain, I’m pretty sure those on Brick Lane were slightly confused as to why intoxicated people were spilling out of a clothing store in the middle of the night, but we didn’t care. We had emerged from the rabbit hole, and while the prices may be high, if you’re looking for a truly special dinner this may be just the place.

Part private dining room, part dinner club, the one table Dining Room is a warm, homely, timeless assortment of stopped clocks, well-​thumbed novels, mismatched cutlery and 20^th Century bric-​à-​brac.
Three great menus mix the technical ambition and balance of taste and flavour you’d enjoy at a Chef’s Table in a big city restaurant, with the wholesome, over-​size dishes you might find in a French or Italian farmhouse, Spanish villa, or around the family table on a British Sunday.
