We came here after having dinner around the corner for some cheese & wine. Their cheese platter was amazing but at £25 it had better be! We were really full too which meant that although it looked tiny it was actually perfectly sized. Wines were nice too. Everything we wanted for an after dinner drink.

I adore Bedales. Stumbled across it on a Sunday afternoon after browsing Spitalfields Market, and was pleasantly surprised to see that there was space to sit at 4PM. The big selling point here is that you can try a huge range of wines you won’t see available by the glass anywhere else. We sat in a snug little corner and started with a glass of Tempranillo and a rose Sancerre(I’d never seen it in a rose before), and both were excellent, with generous pours. We got a board of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to nibble, and the bread was fantastic. Then we went for a lush sounding Pinot Noir and a glass of «orange wine» that was billed as having notes of chamomile and hops. The Pinot was incredible, but the orange was not for me. Had a very beer-like after taste, which as a non-beer drinker, wasn’t great. I’m glad I got the chance to try it for the price of a glass rather than springing for a full bottle as it’s still tough to find in the UK. If you’re looking for a low key place to explore some new wines and have a bit to nibble, give them a go. Really great wine list, and all very reasonably priced. The food isn’t really a meal — lots of charcuterie and cheeseboards — but it will pair nicely with your chosen drinks.

Came to Bedales with the lovely Vanessa A a few weeks ago on a Friday evening. Despite being busy we managed to find a perch. The place is both buzzy and relaxed, classy and informal. So a few pardoxes going on there. They have an excellent range of good wines. Our first choice was really heavy, peppery and quite harsh. We asked for it to be decanted to see if it would improve it. And it did, marginally, but we discovered sediment in the first glass. Little did we know one of the staff was nearby and was immediately responsive. He took the bottle away and allowed us to choose another bottle of wine instead. This level of service blew me and Vanessa A. away. We were really impressed with attentive they were. We had a plater of Antipasti nibbles too, which were delicious and had so much dipping oil and pastes that we had to order more bread. This place really is great to unwind on a Friday evening, but it’s real winning point is the excellent service.

Friendly wine bar inside of Spitalfield market. It provides a nice little break from all the noise and crowd at the market. The bar is small and cozy. They have a large selection of wine and I love it that during the holiday season, they serve yummy mulled wine. I love coming here sipping mulled wine and nibbling on some bread and olive spread. Because of the location, it is on the expensive side.

We found this gem in Spitalfield markets after a sunny afternoon of walking round the markets in East London. It is really sweet and unassuming, it looks a little expensive but for £26 for two people we had a lovely cheese board, two champagne cocktails and a large bottle of sparkling mineral water. The cheese board was huge! I think it was around £8(small size) but it was filled with lovely cheeses and came with a huge basket of bread. Really good value and good wine and food.

Best wine bar in London. The selection of wine is perfect, you can enjoy a glass of wine in a very relaxing atmosphere with some french cheese. As a French, I definitly recommend this place!

It’s a wine shop with a difference in that you can drink the wine you buy in the shop. This makes good sense to me as one doesn’t have to pay the outrageous markups that restaurants add to their wine list. Bedales appeals to the snobby side of my nature and I prefer this place to the local pub vibe, which I’ve never been a huge fan of. There are huge wine barrels used as tables and natural wood seating which give the place warmth. The menu is small — cheese and meat platters, pates and tapenades with bread — good snacking food that accompanies the wine experience.
