Friendly service, fine food in a smart casual environment. The food is fantastic — and the presentation was fine as well. My main was brought out on a wooden cutting board — the suace was served in a cow shaped gravy boat. They’ve put thought into the décor and presentation and it shows. We were served by a man I believe is the owner — I had lots of questions on the menu and he was quite knowledgable. Place was very reasonably priced — most mains were around a tenner with sides at ~3. Very reasonable for the quality of the cooking. One down side — for a place with the name«brew» in its name I would have expected more than 2 beers on tap. They had a selection of a dozen or so bottles — but still a bit disappointed in the tap selection. Still doesn’t ch age my rating of a 5 though Update: I’ve been back twice now and each time has been better than the first. They’re beer cheese is the best I’ve ever had and they’re broccoli is fantastic — served with an herb butter. definitely worth an order!

New restaurant in Kentish Town with excellent quality steak at a very reasonable price. Pig’s cheeks on toast were delicious, as was the broccoli side dish. Starters, mains, sides and lots of wine came to only £30 a head. Only thing that could have made it better would have been a few more cocktail options and a cheese board!

This was my first time here — but I know I want to go back already! I went for dinner with some friends on a Thursday evening and we turned up at 8pm and the place was full. They took our number and we retired across the road to Wahaca for a margarita whilst we waited. We finally got seated about 20 minutes later. My friend Tiva knew of a deal to get us free beers with every meal over £10, so we all decided to try the chateaux steak paired with the amber ale, as recommended by our waiter. The steak was amazing — great flavour, lovely and tender, with a good tasty char on the outside, but yet still cooked rare to perfection. The steak was £15 and is served on a wooden board, looks good, but maybe not as good as a warm plate! We ordered some broccoli and chips to share and both the sauces, chimichurri and the truffle Bearnaise. The broccoli was also charred slightly, the chips wonderful, crispy and fluffy in the midde. I loved the truffle Bearnaise sauce — and whilst the chimichurri is traditional Argentine accompaniment for steak, the herb and garlic sauce was a little overpowering and it definitely lingers! They get their steak from Swaledale in Yorkshire and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. Still I want to go back to try some of the other items on the menu, so a return visit is definitely in order!

Ambience: industrial café; great for lunch. Service: attentive and friendly. Food: beautifully presented; awesome nocchi & cheese; tasty brisket; disappointing beef salad. I really want to give more stars as I really liked the place but meat of the beef salad was tough, tasteless and difficult to chew. I think the chef let himself down by serving it.
