As of this minute it has been over two hours since we have placed our order, and our food still hasn’t arrived. We were quoted a time of 40 minutes. According to google maps Best American Pizza is only 8 minutes away by car. After the first hour we accepted the fact that maybe the delivery person had been slowed down due to the light snow. The snow has stopped since then, yet our food still hasn’t come. We’ve called numerous times only to be told that it’ll be here in a few minutes. I could have walked to the damn store, ordered my food, watched them make it from scratch, and then walked back to my place by now. Don’t expect a tip. UPDATE: Food finally came. It was shite. Half of my topping were stuck to the top of the pizza box. The cardboard pizza box tasted better than the pizza itself. They didn’t even cut it correctly. Best American Pizza is London’s worst pizza shop.

best american pizza has lost it’s special place in my heart :[ to be fair, i always call when i’m a little drunk. but who orders crap like this sober? they must expect calls like mine at 3am, so i’m not really going to apologize for that. last night, they told me it would take 30 – 40 minutes for our order to arrive, but after it had been 50, it still hadn’t arrived. i called back and asked where my food was and was told 5 – 10 minutes. while on the phone, i remembered that last time, they’d promised me a comp because they’d sent the delivery boy without a card machine and i’d had to wait outside with him for like 10 minutes while he sorted it out and finally took my card through the phone. however, now they said my comp wasn’t in the system :[ what a lucky coincidence for them! also, they once again charged me extra for cheese on my onion rings and forgot to put it on. THAT’S TWICETHEYDIDTHAT!!! their final offense was our pizza, which was not what we ordered. we wanted a pepperoni pizza, but instead got some sort of meat lovers thing with sausage and ham AND pepperoni… nobody liked it and it wasn’t we’d ordered but when we called back to complain about the pizza and the onion rings, nobody picked up, even though we called 3 times. AND last week my flatmates ordered 4 red stripes and they sent them some other beer. when they called back to complain, nobody picked up. i was seduced by their mozzarella sticks and alcohol delivery, but it’s not worth it — this place is fucking busted.

Dear BAP, you are not the best American pizza, but by far not the worst, and for the value. and convenience, you are alright in my book. After a night out and you need that little bit of something to tide you over, but have had your fill of shish and you only have a few pounds in your pocket, head over here and you can get a personal pizza for under £3.

Its not a bad pizza place, by no means. However, I think Best American Pizza is being a bit over-rated here. For the price, you might as well go to Pizza Hut, which I find is better quality(but as a self-proclaimed pizza snob, even that does not satisfy me!). On a late night it does the job, and if you’re getting the 7″ pizza it’s incredibly cheap, however anything larger than that and I’d say you could just do with something better.

Dear Best American Pizza, You are the embodiment of all things greasy and good. As an American, I got a kick out of going to a place that boasted that it had the BEST American pizza. I was drawn in by the price(£1.50 personal pizzas!!!) and I eventually became a regular, getting the £5 two topping 8″. Each time, the pizza got a bit better. I would like to believe it was because you recognized me and put a little bit more love into the pizza. Thank you Best American Pizza, for being there for me, on my street. Love, Paige

Brilliant pizza! Deliver late into the night and the cheese stuffed crust is devine! Good variety, tastes good, quick and convenient — all round good egg!

As I study in the area, I often go here for lunch– they do a 7 pizza for £1.50, with extra toppings cheaply too. They do a range of other fast foods, such as chips, wedges and burgers. During school lunch times and after school there is always a large crowd of school kids inside and hanging around outside.

I only stopped to eat here because it was around the corner from my hotel and the boldness of the name — Best American Pizza. Ok I am American — I will be the judge of that! Let’s get this out of the way. it is not the best Pizza but it is pretty good. The pizza was prepared and cooked right in front of me and all the ingredient were fresh and placed on the pie nicely. The best part about coming in person, is that the shop manager could tell from my American accent that I was not from the area. He asked me about my trip and immediately became London’s Top Tour guide. He named 10 places that I needed to see before I left and had intimate knowledge of the subway and bus systems. He knew when the sites had half price and the best times t avoid crowds. Too bad I met him my last night not my first night. My personal BBQ pizza was easy on the eyes, smelled good and tasted better. Plus at 6 pound for a filling pizza and a soda. It a bargain.

The only reason this place gets three stars is price. For 14 pounds I was able to get a four topping 9″ pizza, quarter pound burger, 8 chicken nuggets, chips, soda and a 500ml beer… delivered! Really, it does not get much better than that. HOWEVER, it is pretty terrible quality. The pizza is bland and needlessly greasy(yeah, i have no idea how they manage to meld those two characteristic, but they do). The burger, chips and nuggets all taste like they have been pulled directly from the freezer and heated up in the microwave. In need of cheap eats, go for it. Actually want something you enjoy, look elsewhere.

I always use this place for pizza delivery to work and at home. Everyone I know is delighted with the quality of their pizzas. They do a range of pizzas and, as I understand it, a number of other takeaway dishes like chips, burgers, ice cream etc. Their range of pizzas is impressive and they are usually really friendly on the phone, if sometimes a little sleepy — so it’s always worth getting them to repeat your order! The quality of the pizzas, as I’ve mentioned, is great if you’re looking for decent takeaway pizza. Always consistent with their quality and output, I wouldn’t say it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had but for price, quality and convenience they top all others in the local area. Also a number of the pizza outlets are chains, so it’s always nice to support the independents, isn’t it?
