Bibigo is a decent looking up-market Korean food restaurant. It resides in the spot that one of my favourite fusion eateries Naamya Café used to be. The food here was fantastic. The twists on traditional flavours were impressive. Switch to 2016 and Bibigo introduces standard Korean fare presented in nice dishes with menus with beautiful minimalist photography. Prices are more expensive than your mum and dad run operations in the West End, but many of these are closing and it looks like the big chains are swallowing all the business. We were here for the £102 course menu which is pretty decent and includes a starter and main dish. I loved the Korean fried chicken starter and would have been happy to have more of the same for my main. The Seafood Bibimbap looked impressive in the hot stone bowl that caused the fried rice to sizzle but was ultimately tasteless even with the accompanying sauce. For dessert, we ordered the Red bean goldfish with ice cream. This was excellent. It looked great on the plate and tasted awesome. Staff were perfect. Easy to get their attention, and were very helpful in taking orders and remembering drink orders as they passed our table whilst dealing with other customers. If you haven’t tried Korean before, give it a go and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

Ate here again last night, and yet again I would recommend the Korean fried chicken which is consistently amazing. We also tried the seafood pancake as a starter, which was also delicious although on the large side — I was quite full after the starters! I’d gone for the excellent value 2 course set menu for £10, so went for the beef bulgogi which was lovely. The meat was tender and it had a great bbq flavour. My boyfriend chose the squid and pork bulgogi(not off the set menu). This looked better than mine, as it came with a little flame under it to keep it warm and was also a bigger portion. However, we weren’t so keen on this dish, we both found it too sweet and didn’t enjoy the flavour as much. I would have given a higher rating if the service was better. However, it was on the slow side, the timing for the main courses wasn’t great(they bought one out about 10 minutes before the other, rather than both together), and they completely forgot about our order of rice. I will still return to this restaurant as I think the food is generally good, especially for the prices.

I really enjoyed the chilled sophisticated feel of this restaurant! I had snacks including picy sweet potato and spicy crispy chicken bits which were both in a similar sweet, sticky, spicy sauce. Delicious! But very very spicy! Make sure you have a cold drink on hand before tucking in. The staff were very sweet and didn’t make me feel embarrassed to doggy bag the bits we couldn’t finish. Yummy! I’d like to try the main courses next time.

While I try and stay away from chains, Bibigo is one that definitely deserves your attention! Aside from the fact that they offer a great value lunch/dinner menu with plenty of food, the venue itself is a lovely, spacious and more formal venue for you to have dinner on a date or as a small group. The food is of generally a good quality, though personally I’d recommend staying away from the noodles as when we ordered it, it was very similar to a pack of instant noodles you can buy from any shop. Instead, get the korean fried chicken, the pajeon(which were superb), and the bibambap. You can’t go wrong!

Right below the Angel Building, this used to be a Thai restaurant that never quite took off and now it’s another Asian food joint that is mediocre at best. Working right in the area, flyers came about during the soft opening and 50% off was to be had. I’ve since gotten over the initial terror of the soft opening and have come back here a few times since. The failures of the soft opening continue to plague Bibigo. Service is mediocre at best with lunch time service tending towards dawdling and food much more subpar to places like Bibimbap in Soho or hole in the walls in what used to be Koreatown(by Centrepoint). The bibimbap here doesn’t come piping hot and rather bland, I’ve not been to Korea, so I don’t know which is more authentic, but this places uses broccoli florets as one of the only veg in the bibimbap and I’d wanna gander than that’s actually not quite right. Anyway, since I work nearby and this is the only Korean place about, besides the one on Exmouth Market, Jubo, which is actually better than this place too IMHO and only a short walk away, I’d rather head there than here. Nice atmosphere, poor food. Guess the only reason to return next Tuesday is because it’s a friend’s leaving do and we wanted something really close.

I felt like Asian food… so looked for somewhere to dine alone easily. It was my first time to try Korean restaurant in has 2 courses for dinner with 10£ including Bibimbap and Bulgogi. Korean restaurants are supposed to serve a few dishes first such as kimchi, right!!! But it didn’t.(Perhaps Korean restaurants here couldn’t serve… since those ingredients must be rather difficult to obtain.) All menu were quite familiar to me.(since I am Japanese.) which relieved my loneliness a little bit. haha… The taste was really normal and not authentic at all.(Sorry… when it comes to Asian food, I could be bitter.)But it’s close to my flat and easy to go alone although the it looks a little luxury for the price. I would have a dinner course menu next time!!!

I really want to love this place, it’s local and I love Korean food. And it’s not bad by any means, I have bee a couple times and expect I will return. But it’s not amazing either. So, the good. The lunch and dinner set menus are both a good deal, plenty of food and very tasty. Not the best ever Korean, but well above respectable and the Korean salad is really very good. The hot stone bibimbap isn’t always hot enough to crisp, even when left for some time however. It is the service, however, that really let’s it down. It’s indifferent at best and really just totally disinterested. Which, at these prices is not really ok. And as my quick tip from a few moths ago notes, the website and sign on the door both lie! This place closes at 9 on a Sunday. I want to love this place, and I will be drawn back by the lure of Korean food, but I’m always left a bit sad that I paid as much as I did for the whole thing

Went with a friend to have lunch on a weekday. Their £7 lunch menus(2 courses) was delicious and fantastic value. I can’t believe that the other reviewers had such an average or even negative experience — things must have changed since then. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was simply delicious — full of flavour, the meat was very tender and well seasoned. I will definitely come back again!

They do not give you side dishes — what kind of Korean restaurant doesn’t have side dishes? Food was average. Also there are no Koreans in the kitchen

We went on its launch week and treated ourselves with lots of dishes. The food was delicious although I’m not sure if we’d go there again without a discount as it’s quite expensive for what you get. The stone pot rice and barbeque beef were definitely our favourite.

Food is a 3. Customer service is a 1. Ordered take out and the wait staff was arguing with me over the dish I ordered. Saying that they can’t do a soup take out because the container would melt.

I’d give this restaurant a 3.5 stars. We went on a Monday evening around 8 pm. There were many 5 or 6 other tables full. We were seated right away. The restaurant is spacious, and feels very open, clean and modern. Light colors, tan wood tables, it’s fresh seeming. We both ordered the hot stone bibimbap — one with tofu and one with neither tofu nor beef. It comes with a mushroom onion mix, broccoli, spinach, bean sprouts, cabbage, and green beans. No egg, but you can add one for a pound extra. Neither one of us wanted the mushroom or the cabbage, so we just asked for the rest. It’s served with Korean hot sauce(they call it Kohot at the restaurant, but it’s their form of Gochujang). The bowls came out sizzling hot as they should with the rice crisped/burnt on the bottom. It’s such a unique texture and really is one of the reasons to get the dish. The only«sauce» in the bowl is just oil(definitely a bit oily, but not drenched and still feels healthy), but it’s pretty tasty even without adding sauces to it. It’s such a fresh, healthy taste. The soy sauce is typical soy sauce and their hot sauce has a nice flavor, but is definitely not spicy enough at all! We also got an extra bowl of steamed white rice on the side, just as a filler because the portion wasn’t big even to fill us fully(1 pound extra). We also asked for extra veggies(broccoli and green beans) so we could add some more into our bowls. I don’t think they had given us any extra even though we didn’t get the mushrooms or the cabbage and they quickly accommodated this request without a charge at all. Service was good, our waitress was attentive and answered questions patiently. Our waters were filled. I’d come back here if I were in the mood for some fresh, light Korean food.
