Popular tapas style French which suits for jetlagged stomach. Very friendly staff and beautiful foods. Strongly recommend to go. Must make a reservation.

Our extended family of seven happened upon this place as we made our way to Liberty a few days ago. The menu was enticing but sadly they were not scheduled to open for another 30 minutes. Nothing near Regent St. looked anywhere near as good, so we trooped back… and were very, very happy we did. The seafood dishes were all extraordinary but the squid in squid ink was just perfection. On the veggie side the cheeses and olives were excellent as was pretty much everything else. Be forewarned that there is not much here for a vegetarian — in fact the only ‘entrée’ that qualified was unavailable due to a lack of cauliflower. The only real disappointment were the frogs legs — encased in a hard tasteless batter they were more KFC than French Cuisine. But the service was excellent and the drinks — particularly an elderflower martini — were quite tasty.

Good food. Good value. Pleasant people. Recently relied upon local reviews from Unilocal in italy. Am back home in London so thought id give something back. All dishes were well thought out. We scoffed the lot.

This place is a gem! Loved everything about it. It is just so inviting to go in and sit at the bar and tuck in for a great meal. French inspired but very creative and chill and your baguette comes in a brown bag. The service was spot-on and so friendly and loved the French music playing in the background. I particularly appreciated that they didn’t bring the dishes all out at one time… it was well«staged» and thought out from lightest to heaviest. The heaviest included amazing frites with bearnaise sauce. Heaven! The squid dish was one of the best squid dishes I’ve had in London – grilled to perfection with ink aioli and the most flavorful and well-executed grilled vegetables. Wine was fab as was the coffee and the décor. I will be back – probably again and again.

Visiting my university friends in London, we ended up here because my friend’s boyfriend had read some very positive reviews about the place. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. It’s a small restaurant, and it has an exceptionally intimate feel. We had an 8:30PM reservation for the five of us on a Monday(okay, not the typical night to go out, but getting a taxi after dinner was a cinch!), and the other tables were occupied by couples. And all of the staff seemed to be French, which adds to the authenticity of the place. The food is served tapas-style, which is very unique for a French restaurant. This was actually a fantastic thing. The waitress recommended that each person order three items from the menu, and that was 100% perfect for our group; we were all ridiculously full after just appetizers and entrees, so much so that we didn’t even order dessert or coffee. The food was, to put it bluntly, phenomenal. Not only was everything cooked to perfection, but the fact that it was all presented in the«sharing» way meant you didn’t have to eat much of those dishes with which you were, shall we say, less enthused(i.e, you received four frogs legs with each order, and two of our group hate eating things«on the bone,» so that worked out fine). The foie gras, mussels and ox cheeks, in particular, were insanely good; two members of our party requested additional(three, in fact — and, yes, we did point out the excessiveness of that) orders of bread in order to soak the juice of the mussels sauce. Service? One or two of our group found the service to be less than friendly, but I gave them big smiles and ooh’d and aah’d over the meal, so they seemed very good and responsive to me. At the end of the meal, we had ordered 15 different dishes, two bottles of red, one bottle of non-champagne(i.e., champagne from outside of Champagne, but still French!), and one carafe of white wine, and the bill came out to £36 per person. This restaurant is amazing, and I really would recommend it to anyone who is traveling to London on a less-than-tight budget.

We came here for our office Christmas celebration, and a fantastic time was had by all. The service was friendly and helpful, very welcoming even though we were late for our reservation, and patient as we got progressively more tipsy and demanding! Great décor as well. Delicious French food in a tapas style, great for slightly fussy people like me so that I could have a taste of exotic dishes such as foie gras and frog legs without dedicating myself to a whole portion. My favourite part was definitely the desserts — particularly the passion fruit one! And the Amaretto Sour was delicious, one of the best I have had. The bill was pretty high, but for special occasions or rich people I don’t think you can go far wrong! I do think we ordered more than an average amount of alcoholic beverages as well, which probably upped the prices somewhat!

To be honest I just want to say this place is amazing amazing amazing! Had a few small dishes of fish, vegetables and meat and it was all outstanding! Stand out dishes for me were definitely the Salmon Taretare that tasted so fresh and had the right amount of dill. Another stand out is the baked scallops! With spinach, breadcrumbs and some lemon juice, it is so delicious and different from the usual pan seared scallops. Only thing that could be slightly improved was our chocolate dessert, but I’m still giving this 5 stars because I enjoyed everything else so much. Nice atmosphere and service too, definitely a good place to bring a date.

Blanchette in soho is a relatively new French bistro serving tapas and is one of the few restaurants in the area that accepts reservations! We did not book but arrived for an early dinner so were seated at the bar. The server recommended ordering 2 – 3 plates per person. Standout dishes were the crispy frogs legs and brillat saverin salad containing grilled peaches, cucumber flowers and poppy seeds. Prices were reasonable but slightly higher than Copita located opposite Blanchette, however the menu at Blanchette is more varied than Copita hence we chose Blanchette over Copita for dinner.

A new French restaurant situated right across the street from my favorite tapas place and that was exactly how I discovered this restaurant. It has cute and cozy interior, that of a rustic French country bistro. I love the colorful ceramic tile wall behind the bar. It seems that it has been there for ages. This is kind of a French tapas place, where they offer a variety of cheeses, charcuterie, and small dishes. Everything looks good on the menu, so my friend and I nearly ordered every single meat dishes: Ox Cheeks Bourguignon, Beef Onglet with Snails, Braised Lamb Shoulder, Black Pudding, and Chargrilled Pork Belly. And we also ordered Foie Gras for starter. I have to say the plating of the food was great, but the taste of the food was not as exciting as the look. The lamb should was the best meat dish and the Foie Gras was good as well. As much as I love meat, my favorite dish of the night turned out to be a veggie dish: Jerusalem Artichoke and Potato Gratin. It was AMAZING! It was gooey, cheesy and super yummy. I would go back just for that dish. We finished the meal with a dessert, Rice Pudding. I am not a big fan of Rice Pudding but my friend wanted to try it and it was wonderful as well. The creamy Rice Pudding was presented in a small pot and you mix caramel and ginger crumble in it. Quite fun to eat it. Overall, it was quite good.

A trendy french tapas style mini bistro serving all manner of unpronounceable but all delicious wonderful cuisine. The menu is full of starters. Meat cuts, cheeses, bread, olives, pig ears. All are also reasonably priced. Being about £4 each. Mains are around £7−10. Bear in mind, whilst this is resonable pricing, the portions are all pretty small, this being a sharing concept. Which makes certain things strange, like why the tables are so small when you expect plenty of dishes to be ordered. It was very much a case of moving dishes around simply to allow new dishes to be able to fit on the table. We were on a 3 seater table. The 2 seater tables barely looked big enough to hold one dish! The baked cheese was my favourite, along with the delicious nutella, fererro rocher type dessert. Everything was delicious though, one plum dessert was a little overbaked meaning the base was hard and chewy, but that was an exception rather than the rule. So whilst the food doesn’t disappoint, there were very few things wrong on this soft launch. The music was perfect, good volume for conversation and really helped us feel relaxed and in good company. The staff are particularly good. The owner spoke to everyone trying to ensure he got the most from the soft launch in terms of feedback. The staff were a credit. The food stellar. The only thing I’ll add is that some of the starters could have been a little larger. Similar tapas places are indeed a little pricier, but those dishes can be around 33−40% larger. Given the sharing concept, it was a little of a strech sharing dishes between 3 people, but one dish between 2 people is actually perfect, so perhaps we needed to order more! Delicious. The bar area was also pretty packed, I guess this is the new trendy place at the moment. It isn’t hard to find either it’s the place with no storefront yet :)

I was lucky enough to go to the soft opening for this place and loved it! I loved the décor, especially the floor tiles, vintage aqua and white and the mural behind the bar as you enter. Check the seats of your chairs too for some beautiful details. I loved the staff too. Groovy, funky, french, very charming but still attentive. I loved the food too. Their approach to food is interesting. French food, yes, but served like tapas. And it really works. Their bread was crusty and doughy. Baked St Marcelin — you can’t go wrong there. The cheese beignets were heavenly. Then there was fish, leeks and wild mushroom, an artichoke gratin and frites with bearnaise sauce — all wonderful. But the pinnacle was their chocolate cake. It was out of this World! I don’t think I’ve ever had a dessert so good. Ah and the drinks! I had a passion fruit martini — a fruity, refreshing delight. They do an impressive house red, light but not too thin. The only fly in the ointment for Blanchette are the tables. They are very small and not very conducive to the sharing, tapas idea. There were 3 of us at our table and it took a bit of juggling and negotiating. But the table for 2 were cute but ridiculously small. Check the place out but be prepared for some comic logistics with the tables.
