Forget every burger joint you’ve ever been too before heading down to see these guys. If you’re look for a non gourmet burger, but a burger that’s mouthwatering and gives you pleasures that you’ve never experienced, then this is the place for you.

Ate here the other week while working in London for a few days. Met up with some friends for lunch and one suggested we tested out Bleecker St. as apparently its one of the best burger places in London(although everyone seems to have their own opinion on the matter) and to be fair this place did not disappoint, comparing it to the places in german this burger deserved a Michelin star. There wasn’t too much sauce and meat was cooked perfectly, although the patty could of been a tiny bit bigger. I have to say though I was not a fan of the chips and they had sold out of the sweet potato chips sadly. I will definitely come here again next time I am back in England.

this is the only top burger seller in London I was yet to try. seen that it gets great reviews and the pictures look amazing. would it square up well against Patty & Bun? Burger Bear? Tommi’s? Sadly, at least this time, it did not. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very nice burger. Juicy patty and nice bun but the rest was a let down. Not a lot of bacon, what was there was thin and almost candied? Not a lot of onion either. I just expected more is all. The fries are superb however, and it is cheaper than most of the others. I’d eat it again, but it may only just creep into London’s top 5, if at all.

Muy buen lugar en spitalfields de comida rápida, una exquisita hamburguesa casera acompañada de unas papas fritas caseras también. Abundante y rápido.

It’s clean and not oily. Sweet potato fries are alright. The burger patty is on the small side, cooked well but not very flavourful. There is no plain burger option which is strange. Why pay for a cheeseburger when I only want a(no cheese) burger? Bottom line, I’ll stop here for a fix if I’m very hungry but I won’t seek it out especially.

Literallly the best burger in London! The black burger with black pudding is so so so delicious! I live near Finsbury Park and see the truck parked in this area… Please bring it to Stroud Green! You would do sooo well !

The feeling of getting to eat a burger as big as your face, after a whole day of working, can’t be compared to anything. Bleecker’s burgers are so good and honestly, the more burgers I try around town, the more I feel sure these are the best. They offer a home delivery, but I live like two streets away. It is good for when we feel too lazy though, or when it’s raining(which both happen often, actually). Now, the burgers like I said are huge and each bite tastes authentic. The fries are my favourite thing and personally, I suggest you try the Angry fries. Any time I go, there’s a row of people waiting for those. Oh, and the staff here is cool and they all are super friendly, so you can have a nice talk while you wait for your food to be ready.

Two words: THEBEST !!! For a long time I considered Patty & Bun’s Smokey Robinson burger as the best burger in London… but this was before I went to Bleecker St in Spitafields market. The Black Burger has two layers of beef with black pudding, cheese and onions in the middle. The beef is perfectly cooked and it is tasty and juicy. The bun is very good and moist. WARNING: You should not walk passed Bleecker St. if you are on a diet as you won’t resist temptation.

This is for the Bleecker semi-permanent food truck on the bank of the Thames by the London eye. My friend and I stopped here for a black and white shake after dinner. Kudos to them for being open. The guys were super nice, even when we(unabashed tourists) paid them in all change. We walked a bit, took two sips, and decided that we really wanted fries with it. So we turned back and ordered fries. The guys were still good-natured and told us we should stop by to try the Bleecker black burger(cheeseburger with blood pudding) sometime. We promised to. We sat down at one of their outdoor tables and dipped our fries in our shake and were 100% happy with life. It’s 100x better than Shake Shack and it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t exist in the States.

You can’t inhale without seeing a new burger joint crop up. And I’ve tried my fair share. This place is definitely a good lunch burger. I’d argue that Byron is a dinner burger, but doesn’t tickle my tastebuds for lunch. Too heavy. But Bleeker street is quick, snappy and slick. Ok, so maybe the branding has got me there. But the blue cheese beef burger was also a delight. So deliciously simple. New fave place on that particular stretch.

Yuuuuum! I may have been a bit tipsy and in love with the world when Grant led a group of us here… but I was still compos mentis enough to notice that this was a blooming good burger. + The blue cheese burger was delicious + I tried a bite of Nava’s black burger… which was even better + Both the sweet potato fries and the angry fries made me really happy + The staff were all so happy, smiley and chatty! I didn’t order a black burger as I thought it would be too big for me… but I won’t make the same mistake next time! I am pretty sure I can fit all this yumminess into my belly. (p.s. I thought they deserve 4.5 stars, so I rounded up because Alex S thought the same thing and rounded down!)

I’ve had this at a street feast and at Kerb market. I recently went to their new Spitalfields branch and the consistency is still very good. A perfect medium rare burger with a seeded bun. Of course added blue cheese to the burger, which I love. And bacon. Always have bacon. One of the best quality burgers in London.

Best burger in London. The only drawbacks are size/price as it will be difficult to walk away having just one and the Bleeker Black was absolutely amazing but at £10 also pricey considering the burgers are on the small side/not garnished too much. Burgers are much more greasy and served very rare compared to the top burger competitors and that’s undoubtedly a good thing. Get the angry fries, the sweet potato were all right but a bit soggy for my liking. 5* because they are the best. (btw, no alcohol is served after 7pm)

*Reviewing veg options* Oh, woe to high expectations! After hearing and reading so much about Bleecker St. burgers, I thought they might offer a decent veg burger. Sadly, this is not the case and I’m afraid I will not be back again unless the menu changes. Perhaps I should give them a little bit of credit given that they gained fame as a food truck. And OK, I know it’s a struggle for burger places to get the right balance of street accessibility and flavour when it comes to a non-meat patty, but, come on, be a bit more adventurous. Two crisp tofu squares garnished with a weak piece of lettuce and squirted with some hot sauce I could buy in any shop is a tad disappointing. And at £6! Eep. There are other places that actually take lentils or beans or mushrooms and cook something for a fiver. And I hate mushrooms… The three stars is for the tofu being good quality and the fries being tasty enough. The sweet potato fries are nice and absolutely satisfied my craving for them, but they were a little too moist for me and way too expensive(£4). We also tried the regular fries, which were quite nice, but doesn’t blow my mind away enough to bring me back. I understand that vege-/pescetarians are just not a priority market for burger joints, but there are times I crave a comforting, hearty veg burger and give some a try. Sadly, though I would have loved to give this stand my support, I won’t be back for the tofu burger again.

Burger itself: 5⁄5 Other gear: 4⁄5 Net score: 4.5, but since Unilocal doesn’t have that mechanism, let me just USEMYWORDS to explain my experience. The Bleecker St. Burger location in Old Spitalfields is a perma-location…it’s fairly sneakily tucked in to the market so, if you weren’t on the lookout for people hunched over their plates on picnic tables… you could easily miss it. Don’t do that. The Black burger is gilding all the lilies. Like not just double patty double cheese but… blood pudding. Do it. Just, do it(not a Nike-endorsed message). It’s delicious and salty and meaty and has just SOMUCHWIN to each bite. It’s messy, and not delicate, and fatty and rich and the bun has a little toast to it, and the onions have a little remaining bite to them and… all things combine together in a perfect harmony *so well done* that all I seem capable of is stringing adjectives together. Note; special win for meat that is not overcooked Other notables: angry fries. The fries might be angry, but my mouth was happy given the combo of perfect skin-on nubbly fries with Frank’s red hot(not confirmed Frank’s, but my palate says: yeah) and blue cheese. GETATTHESE. Drinks? Sure. Beautifully bottled sodas from Hackney’s Square Root soda, and milkshakes including black-and-whites and coffee mixes incorporating Caravan’s coffee. Sit(I mean, this is not a walk-and-eat burger), enjoy. You will enjoy. It’s a given. Unilocal note: EXTRANAPKINSPLZ /possibly not a great first date option, at least for me who *kills* these burgers. Also: delivery available(check out their website)

One dimensional burgers. Don’t get me wrong, they do that one dimension pretty well: the meat is great. But aside from the meat hat burgers are distinctly lacking in flavour. No lettuce, tomato or pickle in sight. The bacon is not very crispy, the bun kind of disintegrates, and all in all its a little disappointing.

This, quite simply, is the perfect simple slider. Be aware: this burger is cooked rare. Really rare. Like the patty may start mooing at you rare. I like to let people know these things right off the bat in case they go in like, ‘hell yeah Emma said it’s five stars so it must be totally awesome and exactly what I like,’ and then bam — super-rare burger that you hate… etc. Anyway, onto why I think it’s a great burger. The meat: it is tender and juicy and makes me feel like a caveman with each bite. The bun: no brioche, I don’t care for a brioche bun — there I said it. The cheese: perfectly melted slice of American cheese. The sauce: one of those super-tasty-can’t-quite-put-my-finger-on-why-i-like-it tangy, delicious burger sauces that just make your day better. Mmm. Burgers.

I’ve heard many great things about this new burger joint so I finally tried this place out for Sunday lunch. Located in a corner of Spitalfields market, Bleecker St. Burger is a black van with some wooden tables and seats next to it. Luckily there wasn’t a huge line so we got the food pretty quickly. The burgers are deceivingly small but they fill you up. Succulent and incredibly juicy, the burgers just melt in your mouth… perfect. We also got sweet potato and angry fries. The sweet potato fries were a bit too stumpy and short but the angry fries were good. I would have given this five stars if the fries were better, but overall so happy to have eaten here :)

As a Londoner, the search for the perfect burger is never far from my mind. Would I ever find the burger which was juicy, flavourful, melt-in-your-mouth, slightly fatty AND with good chips? Well, Bleecker St. Burger ticks all these boxes. With a big tick. Speedy service, but not so fast it makes you think the burgers have been sitting there for ages waiting for you to come along. Burgers are sold medium rare as standard, just the way they should be with fatty juices and cheesy goodness. Happy to cook well-done too. Burgers are served with raw white onion and no other salad, which wouldn’t have been my personal choice but actually ended up perfect. I had to force myself to enjoy the burger and savour it, admire it even, not wolf it down in 10 seconds like I wanted to. The chips are down right perfect, super crispy and moreish. The combination of my preferred choice skinny fries with the texture of skin-on fries. Also tried the Iced-tea lemonade, slightly bitter tea flavour with tangy lemon and plenty of fine bubbles. Really liked the small touches too, sauces on all tables, decent mayo, not the cheap nasty stuff, plenty of napkins available, bags for take-away and burgers served on plates, not in foil. My only criticism? Would like a teensy touch more seasoning on the meat patties, but that’s just personal and wet wipes would be a great addition as its a juicy eating process; not a bad thing at all you understand! Looking forward to going back to try the bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Wonderful work Bleecker St.

After much pestering by my burger-fanatic boyfriend, I just had to try Bleecker St! Don’t get me wrong, I love a burger myself, but they aren’t usually on the top of my list for a foodie exploration. This one however — wow! Juicy, rich flavour, a perfect medium rare on a perfect bun. Like, juices running all down my mouth, on the plate, kinda juicy — and I didn’t even care. Loved the crisp white onion slice in the middle as well! Reminds me of good old American burgers back home in Chicago(guess that’s the idea)! Nearly upstaging the burger itself were the Angry Fries — Frank’s Red Hot(the best!) melts with creamy, tangy, blue cheese over salty, crispy fries… drool! My other half loves the Bleecker Black — same delicious burger topped with black pudding — not my style, but he loves it!

I came for the opening of the Spitalfields Market location, and boy, was it happening. They offered 50% off food(unfortunately not drinks), but the burgers themselves are not expensive — 6 pounds for a single cheeseburger and 8.50 for a double cheeseburger(no idea how much for the special). They had run out of fries by the point we arrived one hour before closing, but a beer was 4 pounds and soft drinks 1.50. Fairly standard. The queue itself was something to speak of — over an hour’s wait for something like 3 pounds saving! They took our order in the queue, brought us our beers while we waited, and when we finally arrived at the front it only took them all of 5 seconds to put our burgers together. There’s not much to it; Bleecker skips out all the fancy shenanigans and just makes solid standard burgers(unless you count the specials). Still, less than 5 options. As for the burger, the buns have sesame seeds on them and are well toasted, basically burnt on the edges. Luckily I like slightly charred food so it worked for me. And the meat is red in the middle, essentially raw, which might not be for everyone(also, I hope it indicates something about the quality of the meat…) It’s not your average pink. Other than that, there’s not much to it. A small piece of lettuce, not even onions for the single. So what’s the verdict? Not sure it lived up to the queue or the hype, but it impressed me more than Honest Burgers and it should be noted that it is from a food truck, so I would say the burgers are quite well constructed, all things considered. But as I’ve said before, the competition for the best burger in London is fierce and many establishments claim some ties to the US or even New York, specifically. I’m unconvinced that Bleecker unseats Shake Shack, the king of all NY burgers.
