I was very keen in trying out Boom Burgers due to my love for Jamaican jerk spice. I tried both jerk boom burger and jerk wings and was left unsatisfied. The flavor just wasnt strong enough and the meat wasnt exactly juicy either. My friends did enjoy their burgers though — perhaps the other ones on the menu are better?

Aside from the long wait, the deafening blare of music, the order mix up, the woeful understaffing, and the lack of indoor seating on a very cold night this place was pretty . I was happy to find a delicious veggie option(sweet potato burger) and some fried plantains. My SO got the jerk chicken and we destroyed everything we ordered. The place itself was cramped and it was hard to hear, but the music was great. There were tons of youths (They travel in large pods, it seems, and wear iterations of the same outfit) so try to order before them so you’re not waiting 5 – 10 burgers time to stuff your face and get stuck resenting similarly dressed boy-band haircut pods of drifting young people.

I loved Boom Burgers web appearence and menu so much, i had to check it out. Its a small place, there are some benches outside as well. They play jamaican music(maybe a little to loud) matching to their menu. Sadly they were out of the vegetarian burger when we came. We tried the Boom Burger, french fries and plantain fries. Service wasn’t exactly great, but then the food came: The Burger was A-Mazing. Wonderful soft meat, juicy ingriedients and crispy fries. The plantain fries are soft with a crispy shell. I really really loved the burger. It made up for anythig that might not be perfect here. In the end, its about the food, and the food was great.

This is the best burger I have had in London. It could compete with some great burger places in the states. Glad we found this place. The stuff is very friendly, the food is extremely fresh and delicious. It is priced comparatively with other gourmet burger joints. Recommend to anyone and everyone!

I love Portobello market and had walked by this place a hundred times, barely noticing it before I finally made my way in last Saturday. When the market is on, it’s mostly hidden behind stalls. It was the middle of the day and service was quick. It’s a tiny place and seating could get awkward when busy. The tables outside are nice, albeit in the shade from the stalls/buildings. All the burgers sounded good, even the veggie one which you’ll rarely hear me saying… Ended up going for the Boom Burger & regular chips and wasn’t disappointed. Just the right amount of spicy. I’ll be going back.

It doesn’t look that good from the outside and neither it does inside, just because of the venue is rather small and not too cosy to be honest — their only 2 – 3 tables are facing the kitchen so if you are looking for quiet romantic place — that’s not the case. However we went there thanks to friend recommendation and their burgers were actually amazing! They have these special recipes and the one I tried was very yummy! Plus they have all these fancy Brazilian cocktails which are quite unique and quite strong too :) I tried their signature Boom Burger, paid £9, it didn’t include chips or anything else, so flat burger price which I find quite pricey considering how poor is the venue itself. But if you are just up to good burger that’s definitely worth to try.

Love this place! It is a bit pricey(£8+ for burgers) but totally worth it! The staff is a bit slow at times but they’re friendly and cool so it’s alright. this is not a Jamaican place though, even if so advertised, they literally only have plantain chips and a jerk chicken burger, the rest can be found anywhere. I love sitting outside especially at the weekend in the warm months and just enjoy myself

Boom burger is one of my local favourites. The restaurant itself might not match everyone’s hopes(limited seating, can be very loud) but the food is always spot on. I stick to the burger and fries and have never been disappointed. The bun is well toasted, the burger is cooked well to order, the bacon jam is outstanding — overall it’s a really great burger. Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Honest Burger are close by location but really cannot compare in food quality. I’ve also had the Jerk Boom(which is similarly good) but I consistently revert to the burger. The fries are a great side, wings are above average(not overly greasy), plantain fries are so-so. The stamp-and-go seemed a little over-fried for my taste, not how I would prefer fish fritters. Stick to a burger and fries you won’t go wrong.

I travelled all the way across London just to sample Boom Burger and I’ve got to say that it was a bit of a wasted trip. The first thing I was disappointed in was restaurant itself. Seating is extremely limited and not very well thought out. People sitting at the first table sort of get in the way as you are trying to get in and the booths are pretty small. I had to visit the toilet while I was there and that leaves a lot to be desired. The biggest problem for me was the temperature. I’m sure it’s not the same for the guys in the kitchen but it was absolutely freezing in there. I even had to eat my burger while wearing a coat! Onto the food itself and I’ve definitely experienced better. At £9 just for a burger it’s not the cheapest place out there and I was left pretty unsatisfied after trying both the Boom burger and the Chicken burger. My Boom came with coleslaw despite no mention of that appearing on the menu which was another black mark. On the upside the plantain chips were tasty and they had some pretty good hot sauce but I’m struggling to find any reason to recommend it. Boom Burger will sadly be a one off for me

Nice Rastafarian style burger. AWESOME music and very good burger. Fries are simple but right at the spot and tasty. Amsterdam style French fries. Very nice atmosphere and vibes. Boom Chakalak :)

This is such a thankless location, squeezed into a small corner under the Westway — it takes a great place like Boom Burger to attract the crowds, and that’s exactly what it does. Actually, it’s so popular the service can be a bit hit and miss(which is why I’m holding off the fifth star). I’m not a massive burger fan, but I love the jerk chicken burger here — almost healthy as it sports rocket leaves instead of iceberg lettuce, which then allows for a side portion of chips … But best of all is the music — reggae tunes booming out of the boxes and Carnival come early, just love it!

Jerk Boom! Jamaican style burger place on Portobello road. Jerk Boom! SImple, easy menu selection. Decent service. Jerk Boom! I had the jerk chicken burger AKA Jerk Boom! And a big bowl of crispy(possibly too salty for some) french fries with spicy mayo sauce. I like saying Jerk Boom. Sorry. NotSorryJerkBoom! The jerk chicken sandwich was tasty, with fried plantains and a mango kind of sauce. It seemed small but with the fries it really filled me up. They overcharge for drinks. At least soft drinks. Two pounds for a can of coke? Reeeediculooos. They have red stripe and boozy slushy drinks, might invest in those next time. or tap water. tap waters good. The inside is a bit too smokey for me to sit in. The outside has a great people watching view but it’s mostly bench seating. The dreaded bench seating which I detest so much. Go try it guys. It’s good if you like a little twist of flavour with your burger selection. Or fish burgers.

The best thing that ever could have happened !!! Best jerk chicken burger I ever had. We always get the jerk chicken burger the boom burger, chips and platain chips. The bacon jam is to die for and everything is incredibly tasty and fresh. Very addictive, have to admit. Normally very busy but they do takeaways so that’s nice. Def give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Very good. A compact burger joint at the northern end of the Portobello Road. This place makes a very decent, very juicy burger. The flare here is the bacon jam, which really adds a nice layer of flavor to the burger. They also offer a range of other hearty sandwiches and salads. As a side I had the fried plantains(they have normal chips as well). The plantains were novel and pretty tasty, too. The prices here are pretty average: eight quid for the burger, two quid for the chips. Worth a shout.
