Honest Burger

Really good burger and chips. Hubby liked his regular burger and I loved my gluten free. They take cross contamination seriously too. Really good food. Will definitely be back.

Really great chain restaurant with a high quality of food — what they do, they do very well. The chicken burger here is my favorite, sided with the coleslaw and chips with as much chipotle mayo as they’ll let me order. They offer take away too, which is just an added bonus!

Loved it! We had delicious burgers… fresh, tasty and wonderful service! Highly recommend it when you are in Notting Hill.

One of the best burgers I have eaten in London. I have tried many other burger places and this place comes out on top. Amazing beef, good choice of burgers and a nice range of drinks.

Fantastic, absolutely delicious and cannot wait to go back! The Honest was the best choice. The Karma Burger was okay but I made the mistake of getting the gluten-​free bun/​too small for the burger and tasted so bland so it was a bit of a mess and a let down! But I tried the Honest and it was delicious!!! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The curry sauce is a must and the onion rings were delicious. My boyfriend and I also loved the rosemary fries!!! Not to mention the venue is very lovely and casual.

Nice place for a quick bite. The brunch burger was great– the bubble and squeak added a nice bit of crunch and (speaking as a salt fiend.) the chips had enough seasoning! A friend who ordered the chicken burger was a little disappointed that there were so few options for those who didn’t eat beef.

I don’t eat meat at the moment so having a good burger is truly a treat for me. Let’s be honest, most vegetarian burgers are pretty dreadful. Some might even claim that they have no place even being in the same sentence when talking about a good burger. Usually I would have to agree with that but every now and again I’m proven wrong as I was in Honest Burger on Portobello Rd!
I’m the type of person that believes the less items there are on the menu the better as then the restaurant has really focused on doing just a few things really well and that way they keep the quality very high. This is definitely the dogma of Honest Burger. There are only 7 burgers on the menu (one veggie and one chicken, the rest is beef) and they are accompanied by some lovely sides like onion onion rings and coleslaw, and all burgers come with rosemary salted chips, yummmm!
The place is quite small and /​but it has a nice atmosphere and a diner-​like wibe to it. Our waitor was really great — very helpful, knowledgeable and polite. It also turned out he was a fellow vegetarian so he was definitely the right person to help me with my order.
So I chose the veggie burger (obviously) with some extra cheese and candied red onions. The burger comes to the table fast and looking absolutely juicy and delicious. I bit into it and it’s just as satisfying and decadent as any good burger should be — beef or not.
They also brew their own beer, Honest Pale, and it’s absolutely delish!

Great burger joint — used to go to soho one but somehow I started to find the burger quite bland., then I stopped off this portobello place and on my god, miles better… Not sure what it is but sooo amazing with so much flavours fries are much better as well. Why?! Not sure but trust me… It is just so much better. Dangerous news for west residents… They are delivered with deliverloo… Too dangerous :-) must try!

Burgers were great, nice twist on fries, would totally go back. Friendly staff and quick service. If want a place to stop while shopping in the Notting Hill area, this is the place.

Great burger joint with great service and good prices. The signature Honest Burger was delish, and the fries/​chips are perfect. Recommended.

I’ve been meaning to come to this place for ages. Finally came here as part of their 1^st year birthday celebration. I really loved it. I went for the ‘Honest Burger’ it was delicious. The fries were super, with Rosemary on them.
As I went for a late lunch, it was quite. The staff were great and very attentive, which gave the place a bit of an atmosphere. I shall certainly be back to sample some more of their burgers. Probably try the Camden outlet next.

This is not my favourite Honest Burger… the layout is a little weird and pokey and I don’t think the food is AS good as other locations, though that may be because it’s right on Portobello Road and we were there on a Saturday! Nevertheless, they still have delicious burgers that beat any others in London, and their fries are still super delish. I ordered an orange juice which i’m convinced is not ‘freshly squeezed’ as it says on the menu (I was disappointed about that) but otherwise it’s a winner for me!

I had read that this was one of the best burgers in London, so I was a bit disappointed once I tasted my burger. I found it a bit boring. The fries were ok, but also not great.

I found myself having my 1^st ever Honest Burger one weekday lunchtime. This branch has lovely, cosy wooden booths and offers casual fuss-​free service.
I chose the Tribute burger, which came with bacon and American cheese. The burger itself was nice, but a step behind Byron on meat-​quality and slightly over-​cooked from the medium-​rare I asked for. The bacon was good, but there could have been more cheese.
I would have to say that the infamous rosemary chips lived up to the hype and the onion rings were very thin, super-​duper crispy, best I’ve ever has. The bun was soft, chewy, yielding but held it’s shape, at Byron I could leave the bun behind, here, I was eating the bread happily before even starting on the meat!
Drinks choices were nice, iced-​tea served out of a bottle and into a jam jar with a handle.
Overall, I was happy with my visit, only really the slightly, slightly less favourable burger patty let this place down. I would happily return.

Really nice place, great burgers and beer. The staff is also very friendly. I ate the special and a IPA from Brixton Brew.
The area is packet with charm.

After a good number of burger adventures for two years across London, with a few extra pounds added on my weight, Honest Burger is still the best and the undisputed champion in London when its comes into great British burgers.
The brew burger was really special… the beef patty as expected was moist and full of richness, the smoky bacon blended in perfectly with the sweet Comté cheese. The beer fried onions in the mix, made with Brew Dog’s Punk IPA was robust and peppery and together with the BBQ reduction was truly a beast to die for…

I’m usually a big fan of Honest Burgers and I still am, because their food is amazing and their burgers and fries an absolute delight. However, this branch doesn’t do the brand justice.
We came here for a Friday night meet up with friends for brews and good conversation. I guess the phenomenon hasn’t quite traveled this far north in London, so we were sat immediately (unlike the Soho branch where I’ve waited for much longer).
This branch is very intimate (and I think has a downstairs/​upstairs, I couldn’t tell, we were on the ground floor) and has a great relaxed feel to it. However, the booths are really close together, and for most of the dinner, I felt like I was on a Ryanair flight with good food and good company. It certainly didn’t help that the person across from me that I kept knocking knees with is a good friend and it seemed like we were playing footsies but with our knees.
Food wise, the burger was good as usual, but it seemed to lack the finesse that the Soho branch has. The bun was a fair bit bigger than the patty inside, leaving the patty to move about uncontrollably like a squirming kid after 3 hours on a packed train. The brew dog beer that accompanied the beer was amazing, and the two went perfectly together. However, this special wasn’t as good as the Loosiana burger that they had a year ago.
The chips as usual were amazing. Better than most that I’ve had in London (save one in Shoreditch), well fried and crunchy even when they got cold. However, the rosemary here wasn’t as prominent and didn’t make the chips stand out as much as the rest of the branches. It’s really a shame because I really like the burgers and fries at Honest but just not at this branch.
All in all it was a really great night and it certainly was accompanied with good food. However, this branch of a great brand certainly lets the brand down. Perhaps the owners need to take a bit of notice and up the anty here.

Muy buen lugar para comer si estás de paseo por Portobello Road y quieres descansar un poco las piernas. La comida es básicamente hamburguesas, aunque también hay una opción de pollo y una opción veggie. Tampoco es una comida muy sana ya que tanto las papas fritas como los aros de cebolla tienen gran cantidad de aceite. A pesar de estro tiene todo muy buen a sabor y el precio es relativamente razonable. El ambiente es muy agradable, la decoración es original y linda y la música muy buena. La atención también es buena, nos toco una chica italiana que fue muy simpática y amable.
El precio de las gaseosas es muy económico, este dato es importante si beben como yo más de una por comida.

Easily one of the top 5 burgers I’ve enjoyed in my lifetime.
The burgers here are expertly prepared and taste amazing! The included fries are perfectly seasoned with salt and rosemary. I’m not quite sure how the rosemary was so evenly distributed — most places seem to just toss rosemary in as an afterthought. But not here — just like everything else we tried — the amount of care into the preparation and quality of ingredients is evident. Even the side salad was delicious.
Bonus — Turns out just about everything here could be prepared gluten-​free — they even offer a gluten-​free bun for the burgers if interested.
Extra bonus — killer soundtrack and great service!
