Saved my bacon when I needed a haircut at 7:40pm. Paid £13 for a standard cut.

Great little walk-in Barber on Broadway Market. Cheap and cheerful with a relaxed atmosphere. I went in at around 3pm and had a short wait, but plenty of good music mags to keep you entertained(none of your NME/MOJO/Q rubbish). Spent 15 – 20 minutes in the chair and handed over £10 for a perfect no-frills haircut. If want to avoid paying £30−40+ for a ‘stylist’ who’ll probably give you the same cut, then come here. I’ll be heading back next time my hair needs sorting.

This guy will make that mess of hair on your head look more respectable with a minimum of hassle, time and cost. And that’s all a man wants from a haircut. Unsurprisingly, there are a number of stylists around the trendy Broadway Market area. They’ll happily give you an asymmetric barnet whilst sneering at your poor choice of jeans and emptying your wallet. This place, however, is a relic of old ‘ackney, allowing you to emerge with your dignity and bank balance intact. What to expect: — You will get a friendly greeting when you walk in. But you won’t have to make conversation all the way through your haircut. — You will see this place get quite busy around lunch time. But you won’t find the proprietor rushing through one job to get to the next. — You will get a decent haircut. But you won’t pay more than a tenner, including tip. [If you’re curious about the«Azim’s Barber» logo emblazoned on the window, it’s left over from the shop’s grisly cameo in Eastern Promises. With that knowledge you’ll be just that extra bit nervous when Mr. Yesiloglu comes to tidy up around your ears with the cut-throat razor.]
