I’m a huge Byron fan but this visit has completely put me off… the food quality was so poor that I would have got a more succulent burger further up the high street in McDonalds. Asked for a well done burger, arrived as a medium… that’s ok, sent it back and a new burger arrived 15 minutes later that was so hard and burnt, my jaw was aching from the chewing(no exaggeration!). Spoke with the Manager who explained that the Chef was having a bad day… The lettuce leave inside the burger had brown edging, tomato was white/mushy. The meal ended up being complimentary but the food quality was most definitely not up to scratch, will not be returning.

Burgers for the true meat-lover! But that’s just how Byron seems to do burgers(yeah yeah. it’s a chain, I know). I resisted for a while(Chiswick doesn’t need yet another chain restaurant) but then my dad was in town and he fancied a burger. Service was really quick, attentive, and I really like the ambience of the place. And then there’s the yummy burger. So who cares if it’s a chain …

You can’t complain about Byron I love their burgers. If you haven’t tried Byron and like a well put together burger try it. Just great. Service is great too.

Having had a pretty good experience at Byron-Hammersmith, my husband and decided on Byron’s for lunch on a dreary Sunday afternoon. We arrived around 2pm and the place was busy, very busy. There were approximately 20 burgers sitting under the heat lamp, ready to be delivered to tables. And though the place was packed, we were seated right away and our server stopped by within five minutes of being seated(amazing). Service was good but the food was terrible — a complete opposite experience of what we had at the Hammersmith location not too long ago. Here’s the breakdown: Burgers — Both were cooked well-done even though we specified we were OK with the default cooking temperature of medium. They also lacked flavor. Buns — Extremely dry and basically fell apart after one bite. Tomato slice — White in color, which happens to be the standard in the UK because they pluck tomatoes far before they are ripe and then they freeze them(that’s my best guess because how else does one makes tomatoes white in color?). Pickle — Good. Tastes a lot like an American dill pickle which is different from ‘pickled gherkins’ or Polish pickles or German pickles. Fries — Cold and stale. McDonald’s would not have served these and for the first time in my life, I actually sent them back. A new bowl of fries was delivered at the point when I had about two bites of my burger left to eat. The reaction of the server was one that led me to believe she knew that this bowl of fries had been sitting under the heat lamp in the window for far too long. Mac and cheese — Cold and had been sitting under the heat lamp. It’s too bad we didn’t taste this prior to sending the fries back because the mac and cheese also would have went back. Cappuccino — Excellent which was very surprising. Overall, a terrible experience as far as the food goes. I’m entirely too angry that I consumed an enormous amount of calories for food that was, at best, bad.
