This branch of Byron is just the same as all the others, except it’s in a rather clinical little shopping centre. I tried the Freddar cheese which apparently is their own creation, it’s tastes hugely decadent — kind of creamy and especially fattening so great in an indulgent excessive way. I’d probably stick with the blue cheese or one of the others though as Freddar was a little over the top for me. I also tried the mac & cheese side here for the first time and again it tastes wonderful, basically everything in Byron tastes amazing so it’s best to just go there and order your way through the menu :)

I’m a self-proclaimed burger addict. Call me a snob, call me a tosser, I personally don’t care, but I do love a good burger. I find them, I hunt them and then I eat them. Kinda like Liam Neeson does to bad guys but less violent. London has no shortage of burger joints so we are a bit spoilt for choice. If you want beef from cattle who graze on mountain grass whilst listening to Mozart in their sleep, you could probably find it. So when it comes to Byrons ‘Proper Hamburgers’, one can’t help but carry a few expectations. Now I hate to be a major whinge, but I have a few basic problems with Byron’s burgers. 1) It’s too tall — The double patty versions require you to dislocate your entire jaw just to take a bite. A burger has to be handheld, which is the purpose of the bun. If the burger requires a knife and fork to eat it, it becomes a chore to eat and you might as well order a steak. 2) The patty — Contrary to the claim that 4 cuts of British beef are blended into the patty, it tastes like a discus of meat rather than a burger patty. I’ve eaten medium-rare patties on three separate occasions and the patty has an elasticity equivalent to a squash ball. I look for a salty smoky crust with a melting middle, and I didn’t get it. 3) The sauces — Please use squeeze bottles for the ketchup. There is more to life than vigorously shaking a glass bottle like a mad man just to extract a smidge of ketchup. Better still, why don’t the burgers come with the sauce. Chef’s know best right? Or are they too afraid of the sauce Nazi’s out there? 4) Freddar cheese — I almost wet my pants at the sound of a Byron exclusive blended cheese that’s gooey and yummy. Its even got a fricken TradeMark! Ok it’s an optional extra but it’s worth it right? Wrong. Freddar is another name for cheese coated in Teflon. The one thing it does very well is slide off your burger and onto your crisp white shirt you sucker. Ugh. It’s by no means a bad burger, just not great for a specialist restaurant. Never have I encountered a burger that gives your entire mouth and wrist such a serious workout. Hmm that kinda came out wrong didn’t it?

I’ve been meaning to come try their«proper» burgers for a while now, but I won’t be coming back. Went here the other night and had a very un-proper burger. It was medium, like I asked for, but somehow it was overly dry and burnt on the outside. If there was any seasoning, it was overpowered by the charcaol taste. The fries were could, though I can imagine that they may be ok if they were hot. I also had the wedge salad and my friend had the avacodo salad, both which were actually OK. It’s telling when the salad is better than the burgers. The service was good, though the cloth seats were all pretty disgusting and sported an assortment of diffirent color stains. If you’re craving a «proper» fast burger in London, I would definitely skip Byron head to 5 Guys or GBK.

Normally places in shopping centres are pretty naff, but this branch of Byron keeps the same delicousness of the other branches I’ve been to, despite being upstairs at the O2 Centre at Finchley Road. The staff were friendly and while the atmosphere isn’t great, with the restaurant basically being open to the O2, they still had little touches that made it Byron-y, like the cows tucked into the beams. As ever, a solid choice if you’re wanting a decent burger!

First time trying Byron Burger & had a great experience. This location has really great service. We were greeted by the friendly manager quickly upon arrival when the restaurant was at full capacity. I really appreciate good service — it makes all the difference. Our waiter was also great. It’s open design seating and located inside the Finchley Road, O2 centre. Food wise the portions are really big. We ordered 1 side of chips and 1 courgette fries which was a lot for 2 people. Both were good but next time– I’d skip the chips and just get the courgette fries with a side of ranch. I’m vegetarian so I ordered the veggie burger. The patty was a bit too«fried» in oil which I did not like. They have a portobello mushroom burger so I’m going to try this next time as saw person on next table getting this and it looked good. My husband got the barbeque(b-rex) burger. He loved it and said it was the best hamburger in London. We also tried the shakes(chocolate and vanilla) though we could barely finish half each. I’d recommend sharing a shake. The consistency of the shake was good as well and comparable to shakes in the US. The spicy BBQ sauce is also really good! We will return.

This is the first time I’ve come to this Byron, but I’ve been to several before. I’ve even been to this particular restaurant space before back when it was under the management of a different chain. The staff here were very polite and good natured, a real credit to the company and management. As for the food — I adore the courgette fries and onion rings at Byron and these were no exception. The burger itself was next week’s special — we had a voucher to get it a week earlier — it was spectacular. Literally the best burger I’ve ever had from a Byron. All in all, it was a good experience coming here and I’d happily be a return customer in the future.

I love this place. I like its trendy hipster open plan design within the o2 centre. The burgers are always great and very high quality. Fries are great and the milk shakes are amazing. Not a lot of choices burger wise but i prefer its simple easy menu.

I’m visiting from the States and came to get my first burger in about three months. Both my burger and the zucchini fries I ordered were excellent — I didn’t give it the full five stars because my service was a bit slow and the waitresses seemed confused about who was supposed to be helping me. Still, my food came out quickly and both waitresses that I had were friendly. I do plan on coming back — maybe on a weeknight the service will be a bit less confused.

First time here with my boyfriend. Service was pretty good. Our waitress was very chill and lax(which could have been a good or bad thing). Was very thorough when taking the order, which was nice to not have our food sent back or anything. I ordered an American cheese burger with added avocado slices. Well done. With fries Food was done in 10 – 15 minutes. Burger was a tad dry so I should have gotten it medium well or something but was tasty nonetheless. My boyfriend got the«Smoky» burger medium rare. With fries. He basically inhaled it in 5 seconds haha. Was a good dining experience. Will be back here for my «American food» fix :)

Excellent burgers, the zucchini fries are addictive(have them with the aioli) and we come by to take away the milkshakes on the go — they are so good! The best is the service — always smiles and helpful. Our local favourite.

Classic Byron burgers FTW! I like a burger that doesn’t have too much«stuff». Byron is excellent, they use a perfect amount of tomato and lettuce so that you can still enjoy the tasty burger patty, and leave the condiments up to you at the table. The bun itself is a good size too, it isn’t so huge that you have to get through a lot of bread to get to the burger, hate it when that happens! The patty itself is best when you ask for medium in my opinion, the medium rare is too soft and doesn’t have enough flavour. The home-made skin on chips are delicious and far superior to the regular french fries here. The courgette fries are also yummy and taste like lightly done tempura. The macaroni and cheese here is decent but the burger is the star. Surprisingly, the house salad is fresh and perfect! It comes with rocket leaves and cherry tomato halves and a great balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I have tried some of the other burger variations, the cheese burger, the veggie burger, and the special greek lamb burger offer, but none of them beats the classic. Byron is a good place to grab a burger anytime.

Love it like all the other Byron restaurants I have tried in town. This branch is located on the second floor of the O2 Centre shopping mall possibly, for this reason, a little less atmospheric than some other locations. Nevertheless burgers are delicious and so are the onion rings and courgettes fries which I always recommend. Take away option available. Kids friendly.
