Cafe Gold

I have been to Café Gold many times as there is nowhere else to go in Hanwell! Reliable food however they will get your order wrong a lot!
Basic reliable recipes and everything seems bought in and then sold on.
Coffee is average.
It is a nice clean café to chill and read the paper.
Average food.

Hanwell does not have a wide range of good places to eat; Café Gold is one of the better ones. It has a large menu of paninis, baguettes, baked potatoes, breakfast fare, ice cream and drinks, and the food is consistently good at a medium price.
However, the menu has not been altered at all in the last 3 years, and the lack of any specials combined with the absence of some products (bacon, salami, ham etc.) and the fact you can only ask for items from the menu (I think you can’t ask for custom fillings) means that it can be a bit samey if you go there a lot.
The coffee is good, and it is always well-​staffed meaning you won’t have to wait long, but the lack of other local venues means that it can get very busy at weekday lunchtimes with a large proportion of mothers with children. You should be very clear what you want at the till, however, as the staff do not always understand, although they will always rectify any mistakes without fuss.
The venue is always clean and it has a large array of cumfy chairs, but it can be noisy when busy.
