This Nero has been in this location and is not on Unilocal, shocker! Oh but then after I created a new entry the Unilocal App decided that this location does have an entry. Unilocal!App issues, fix em! As with all Café Nero’s you have decent coffee, Wifi and some scooby snacks. Great location just outside of Exit 4, Leicester Square Station.

Nero has as many coffee shops as Starbucks. Pretty much has the same offerings. Typical London coffee shop. I had an expresso — a tiny cup of strong coffee. They also offer some good looking pastries and snacks. Their hot chocolate is also very good.

Tired of walking — because if you’re not on the tube, you’re walking –I decided to relax at what is probably the Peet’s Coffee equivalent of London. While Starbucks seems to have planted its evil seed all over the world, there probably won’t ever be another coffee shop chain that’ll ever supplant its dominance. But that’s alright! I’d rather the masses crowd the corner Starbucks so I can grab a seat here. After standing in a quickly moving line, I walked up to the counter to order, and immediately established a rapport with the female barista. I had requested soy milk for my chai. She had indicated that in her two years working there, this was the first time she ever had a customer request soy milk. Odd. Let me tell you, though; I’m not sure what else was in that chai tea, but it was the best damn chai tea I’ve ever had. So much, in fact, that I had stopped at two other Caffe Nero’s to order the exact same thing each time. Sure, there really isn’t much to go on when judging a coffee shop. There’s just the basics. Does this place have interactive and friendly baristas? Check. And she had engaged in conversation with me throughout the night. Does this coffee shop offer free WIFI? Word. I spent an extra half hour just to take advantage. Do they have comfortable seating? In the back they do. And, most importantly, are their drinks worthy of coming back for? I rest my case.

On your mark, get set, GO, sip down that thimble size coffee! That espresso that is normally in a cup that fits a few sips. This place provided thimbles of espresso, quickly, but not stellar. The inside is very small, but they do have a very easy to use menu offering. Served quickly and out quickly. It’s not the type of coffee place, at least this location where people sit around. Too many people awaiting to take the seats. Once your race of drinking the thimble of espresso, head off into the sunset.

This popular coffee chain is scattered throughout London. This particular one is conveniently located near the Leicester Square Tube exit. By comparison, we have lots of Starbucks in the states and I sometimes feel they offer too much stuff. Starbucks’ menu can be a bit overwhelming for someone who isn’t a regular customer like me. So I liked the basic no-nonsense selection at Caffe Nero. Their prices weren’t bad either. The double espresso I got was one of the strongest espressos I’ve gotten in a long time. It perked me up for a long night on the town. By the way, I like the name Nero. Wasn’t he one of the crazy emperors of Rome? Come to think of it, as I recall, I think they were they all crazy.

Caffe Neros, just as Costas, are not all alike. The main difference between them is their locations. Here we have an excellent example right in the middle of the hubbub of human traffic moving between Covent Garden and Leiceter Square. The café is ideally located to watch all the comings and goings while quietley sipping the consistently strong, nicely bitter and smooth caffein liqueur. As usual, very friendly staff. The seating area is a little small on the inside, but good window bench seats and nice street tables to get your outstretched legs usefully in the way of unobservant passers by. All good stuff — recommended.
