Coffee is superlative. Wonderful presentation. Most definitely amongst the best I have tried in London. Surprisingly reasonably priced. Must visit for anyone in town and near the Holborn area. 15−20mins walk from King’s Cross station.

As someone from Seattle, I am constantly disappointed with the state of coffee in London. It can be very good in Hackney, but I live in West London so… sad times. However I walked past this café’ and smelled a fantastic brew. I had to walk in and give it a try. The result was a pretty stellar latte’. Not Seattle level of quality but still very good. They have this old fashioned looking Italian espresso machine and seem to take a lot of care. The ham and cheese croissant let them down however. Limp and lacking of enough both cheese and ham.

Lovely branch of the Vergnano chain, I never really knew how to pronounce that. Their coffee is delicious, but there’s definitely more. Their baristas aren’t that creative and practically can just create a heart on the cream, but it’s fine. I’d admit that it’s interesting how they put a large 1882 calligraphy label on top of every drink. The creamy foam cap provides a tad of mystery to the drink and if you didn’t know what you’re having you’ll be in the dark. Also, most of the drinks are quite large for the price you’re paying. The service is one of the fastest I’ve experienced lately which is a huge plus. All the customers were served swiftly and I could see only happy people around me enjoying their caffeine dose. The’s also free Wi-Fi which is also a plus.

It’s a wee bit chain-y, but it’s good for its chain-ness. The kind of chain that makes you feel dirty for going in to. Nice décor. Easy to sit. Beer. Wine. Pricey, but most everything is of good quality. Besides, if you’re here, you’re stuck in an office block wasteland. Slake your thirst here.

The best thick chocolate ever. Nero is trying hard to get the same«real» Italian hot chocolate, their«Milano», but no, definitely not the real one. I went to Florence few years ago and was surprised not finding the thick chocolate in London I enjoyed there. And I found Caffe Vergnano. A delight. Bringing me back to Italy. So yes, Caffe Vergnano is probably good for coffee fans, but definitely great for chocolate addicted people!

Such good coffee again! I cannot believe I have been in London for years and have yet to discover some of the best coffee places around. I guess one tends to end up at Starbucks eventually but I really should not. Today I had some time to spare close to Farringdon station. I was looking for a space to sit for a moment, charge my phone and calm down before an exam. The close-by Caffé Nero I had wanted to go to orginally does not have any plugs. Seriously? Offer wi-fi but not have any plugs? Caffé Nero — you seriously should reconsider your concept! I took a cappuccino again(like yesterday) and was brought a nice one(see picture) that was freshly made for me. Again, nothing compared to your average coffeeshop! Staff was extremely friendly, working fast and efficient. They also offer sandwiches and other small things so do pass by when you’re around the area. It is really worth checking out!

This was love at first sip! I stumbled across this place one day when just as I met a friend, it began to rain in true London fashion. We ran in here for shelter and I am so glad, because it is now my favorite coffee shop in London:) The coffee is delicious, I love the brew so much I bought some beans to take home. They always present it beautifully with the 1882 calligraphy written on each coffee, so it an indulgence for my eyes as well as my tastebuds. I appreciate the little touches as well like the small but perfect biscuit on the side of the coffee cup. The staff was really friendly and helpful as well when I asked about the beans. I have tried the cappuchinos and the mocha lattes, but have not quite made up my mind about which is my favorite, they were all good. I will just have to go back and do more research(*cough* yes that is the reason I will order them, it’s all in the name of reviews. Honest.)

What a fantastic coffee shop! I got a Caffe Gusto in Hazelnut & loved it… especially with the 1882 powdered inscription on the top of every cup. If I ever want to get some work done, I wouldn’t mind spending my time here. Fast, friendly service and Free WiFi is always a plus. :)

Came here today as I had a couple of hours between meetings. The place was very clean and welcoming. Coffee was excellent; and anyone who knows me is aware of how particular I am about my coffee, so that’s saying something! I had a little cinnamon roll with it for 50p, and with free wi-fi, life was good. Service was efficient. I will definitely be back. One complaint is that with low ceilings, it was quite noisy although there weren’t that many people there. Not a good place to try to make business calls!

Ooooh, another great discovery right on my doorstep. This is the celebrated Café Vergnano’s latest opening. In the lovely New Street Square — with a great corner position — you will find a peaceful space for excellent coffee, superb wine. beers, spirits, cocktails and teas. They offer light nibbles(cheese platters, desserts) to accompany these. We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with low lighting, candles in large snifters filled with coffee beans … so could have gone home with quite average fare and still classed it as a good experience. This was not to be. I was served one of the very best double espresso’s made by a true Italian barista — Gabrielo. Mmmmmmm. This was served on a beautiful tray/platter and accompanied by a shot glass of cold water. True attention to detail. The Merlot that followed this was incredible and the exotic beer my partner ordered garnered rave reviews as well. I’ll be becoming a regular for sure — and if you’re ever nearby I bet you’ll be charmed as well.
