Adriana at the garden Center was very helpful with picking the right house plants for my flat and lack of relative green thumb.(The first guy I approached with questions wasn’t helpful so i tried again at my next opportunity.) She gave some basic tips about caring for the plants I bought but also clued me in to the RHS webaite(royal horticultural society) for specific tips about my plants. They have a frequent customers club card you can get at the till and then you get a free bunch of daffodils or whatever is in season at checkout.

Christmas Trees! Delivered! I found Camden Garden Centre through – and today, I have myself a very nice 5 ft. Christmas tree that arrived packaged neatly and to my door ready for me to decorate and make festive. I simply visited the site, picked out what I wanted, and poof — an email, delivery date, and Christmas tree. They’ll even come get it post-holidays so you won’t need to worry about disposing of it. Now yes, it’s not quite the romantic experience of trekking up a fluffy snow covered knoll hill to a perfect tree in which my strapping husband cuts it down with an axe as our dog jumps and skips around. However, I don’t have time for that this year. Maybe next year. This year I’m going for simple, and that means a few clicks, my debit card and a tree arriving on my doorstep. Go Camden Garden Center + Christmas Trees Delivered. I can get my Christmas started… *bonus, when you buy a tree you also get a free mini-tree! I like it.

Oooh yay for mums! My mother came to visit my kitten in our new(ish) flat and was truly unimpressed by the state of our little garden. I should probably mention that we had to dump our old kitchen in the garden for two months before we could persuade someone to drive us to the dump… so this has left a muddy, slimy mess. Oops. However, my mum took one look at it, and marched me off to the Camden garden centre to see if we could find some tools and plants. I am glad we did! This place has: * A huge selection of plant pots and statues(I wasn’t into them… but maybe other Unilocalers are?) * Plenty of plants in pots, ready to re-locate into your garden… We bought as many herbs as we could carry! * Seeeeds! All the seeds you could think of(or bulbs) with seed trays etc. * Spades, forks, gloves etc. * Houseplants * Friendly, helpful staff This is all very helpful… but I would not have fixed my garden without mum’s help(plus she paid for some of it, saying it was a moving in prezzy!) So I recommend visiting here with a parent in tow. Thanks mum!

We visited once, our goal being to create a window box with some herbs. The place is quite nice and easy to find and navigate. We were quitre happy with their choice of plants in general(although we are not experts at all). Our only complain is the following: It was quite hard to find someone that was working there to help us, and it was extremely hard to find someone that was working there and was able to speak english and know about gardening. At the end we found a guy who was very nice and helpful but searching for him was quite frustrating.

The Camden Garden Centre really has it all: friendly & knowledgeable staff who are willing to engage in a little chat with you and point you to the flowers that suit your garden’s particular needs. For example, our garden is deprived from sunshine for most of the day(aka shade) but we nevertheless want to have a garden that exists more than off shrubs and other boring greenery… Aside from the nice staff, their selection is also quite extensive — especially given that the store is very close to the city centre and doesn’t have the opportunity to expand like other suburban garden-centre monsters.

I am not hugely knowledgeable about gardening(I only have a couple of window boxes), but I come here from time to time and the staff are friendly and the place has a peaceful feeling. It is also quite hard to find a garden centre in the area(I live a bit east of here) so it is worth supporting for that reason.

For the size that it is(on the smaller side of the garden centre scale), Camden garden centre manages to fit in a good assortment of plants and garden products. I discovered it when I was going to see my friend for his birthday, had two hours before meeting, and still hadn’t got his present! When telling a another friend that he likes gardening, Camden Garden Centre was suggested to me, so I rushed off to find it. It was 10 – 15 minutes walk from Camden tube, but pretty easy to find. It took me a little while to look around because there was so much to choose from, cactus plants, yuccas and other house plants, as well as outdoor climbers, bamboo, palms, and tons of gorgeous flowering plants. There’s also a large selection of terracotta pots and garden furniture. In the end I decided on a vibrant looking yellow and burgundy, potted dahlia flower. It cost me slightly over £7 that was great as I was good as I was hoping to spend less than a tenner. The staff were efficient, packaged it safely for me, and I left, one happy customer.
