Cool pub. They’ve got all the basics covered & they sometimes host live & loud rock bands in the tidy basement. Well done!

Most things about this pub are pretty average. Nice enough interior, nice enough beer selection, nice enough staff. The real winner is the large beer garden on the canal. Great place to hangout in the sunshine if you happen to be in the area.

I like this pub! It’s kind of your basic, no-nonsense place to grab a drink. However, the staff is friendly, they’ve got games and the location is key. Seriously, location, tucked away from the chaos of Camden but still easily walk-able. It’s located right on the canals so it’s a great spot to just sit and drink. They’ve got a really large beer garden outside when it’s nice, so you can grab a pint and just enjoy the day. Inside, though, is good too. A casual feel with wooden bars and nice patrons. They’ve also got a pool table and darts but it doesn’t feel like a sports bar. That’s hard to beat for sure. A great bar all around and a lot of fun for a spot with friends.

Lovely little traditional yet-to-be-ruined pub away from the busy mess of Camden High St, with a proper pub landlady, serving a very nice pint of Camden Town pale ale.

Yes, it’s a bit of an old man’s pub — but here’s the secret… It’s got the best pub beer garden in the area. I don’t mean beer garden in a namby-pamby, special braziers and chi-chi woven seating way. More like rickety wooden picnic tables with the odd plastic garden chair thrown in. It also has an abundance of lovely plants and cascading flowers, a covered shady area for those not in the tanning mood and an outdoor BBQ. Food options at the Barbie are slim, a hot dog or a buger at £4.00 -£4.50, with a side of doritos chips. Yes, that’s it. Beer is quite cheap(even cheaper per pint if you procure a student card £2.80!) and they were showing the World Cup, Wimbledon and anything else you fancy on their outdoor plasma. I must admit, stylish it aint, but with full sun most of the day and evening, a position right on the canal, a jazzy club area downstairs for gigs(keep an eye out during Camden crawl) and friendly laid-back staff, it’s become a home-away-from-home for my flatmate and I during this long hot summer. The only thing better would be if they had a wider choice of outdoor food and maybe an outdoor bar so we’d never have to move!

You know what, I’m going there with this pub… that’s right, the infamous 5 stars. I’ll gie you my criteria why: 1) Location, location, location. You simply cannot beat where this place is settled – far enough away from Camden High Street to be a hidden gem yet sitting straight on the canal. We set next to the fence on the canal and it was wonderful. 2) In addition, the garden it absolutely stunning on a summer afternoon, full of flowers and greenery, giving the pub a necessary character that I require in all of my favs. 3) Cleanliness – I hate dirty old man pubs that smell like urine. This smelled clean. Enough said. 4) Bartenders– the bartenders looked a bit too cool for school but were super nice and friendly, which is a true deal breaker. 5) Pool table — uh, hell yeah! How many pool tables have you found outside of actual sports bars? They also have a dart board. A star for each number… can’t wait to go back!

The Constitution is one of the highest rated pubs in Camden Town, and that is mainly because of its location: it is adjacent to the Canal, meaning its beer garden it is one of the best places where to have a drink whenever the sun is shinning. The prices are all right and the interior is not bad at all, and they have a room for gigs upstairs as well.

Drinks are well priced and the atmosphere is good. There’s an outside seating area which is particularly good in the summer, as well as plenty of seats and a pool table inside. It’s far enough from Camden to be a bit quieter than some of the seedier establishments around the corner as well!

The Constitution is a little removed from the«trendy» end of Camden and as a result, a casual atmosphere is generated. It is a traditional style pub with a wooden, rustic interior, pool, darts and welcoming locals. My favourite feature of the pub is the beer garden. It is spacious and has plenty of seating with eye catching decorative plants. Next to the garden is the canal which although isn’t the most attractive canal you’ll ever see, still adds character and makes for a relaxing place to drink in warm summer afternoons. Food is available which was both quickly served and reasonably priced. The staff were also quick to serve and quite sociable which I think was what made The Constitution feel so welcoming. Downstairs often hosts live music showcases in one of the most intimate settings I have ever seen a gig in. The basement is tiny with the tables very close to the stage area. The problem is that sometimes the basement feels too small and when the few tables that are there are full, it becomes difficult to move around in. There is a bar downstairs which helps but it is smaller than the main one and does not hold all drinks available at the venue. Toilets are upstairs so make sure you get your hand stamped when entering the basement(if it is an event that they charge entry for, normally a couple of quid) so that they know you have paid. The Constitution is well worth a visit if you fancy a change from the hustle and bustle of the Camden scene.

Until recently the Constitution was predominantly a geezers’ pub, hidden away from the market-going throngs on the wrong side of Camden — the crowd is however changing. A smallish group of devoted but friendly enough blokey regulars still frequent the front, around the bar, but elsewhere younger regulars and newly located locals come here for a relaxing pint. The large beer garden overlooking the canal is understandably popular, while the diminutive basement bar offers up a variety of music nights, with DJs and live bands. A recent addition when I went here is The Bard, The Beat and The Blues every other Tuesday, with an extraordinary mix of talented folkies, blues players, beat poets — San Francisco in the 60’s! The beer is well kept, with Adnams and regular guest beers offered on the hand pumps by friendly bar staff. A good, honest and refreshingly normal pub.

What a glorious pub this is. Run by a lovely lady(I think her name is Wendy) and located on the canals of Camden, one the best things about this place is the friendly people and the nicely-sized beer garden that overlooks the canal. Inside is pretty cosy too, it has a couple of booths that you can squish into as a group and there are lots of interesting characters milling around. Sometimes there’s a big shaggy dog that lies quite contentedly outside the entrance, which just sums up the whole cosy laid back vibe of the pub. They hold various events down in the basement bar, and they offer a barbecue as well when the weather is good enough. Perfect for sunny and warm evenings with cider and good friends.

I absolutely love this pub. It has 2 floors, the owners are lovely, the drinks not too expensive as there are several deals when dealing with shots. Both upstairs and downstairs have an adequate stage area for musicians. There is also a pool table upstairs, but personally my favourite is the downstairs basement. It is so atmospheric with dimmed red lights, a nice cosy intimate place to be. There is a big outside area, up the stairs, with lots of tables, and a barbeque area! The food is lovely, big fat beef burgers in the summer, and also a few tables situated by the river just outside the door of the basement. The sound of live music, of all sorts is always great, and reasonably good sound quality, and can even fit a full drum kit and band if needed. This is a great place to go. I went here last new years eve and it had a great vibe.
