Nice pub in a good location besides The Regent’s Canal in King’s Cross, just around the corner or so from the London Canal Museum. The interior is surprisingly basic for a gastropub, but it does boast a real fire in the winter which is a very nice touch. I only had a fairly basic meal but it was tasty and of good quality. This is a nice pub in a pleasant canalside location but there is unfortunately one serious deficiency — it is very expensive both for food and drinks. If it were reasonably priced I would recommend it but I would only really recommend it if money is in plentiful supply.

Great food, decent drinks and a small outside terrace if the sun is shining. Definitely worth the short walk up the road from King’s Cross. There are usually DJ’s playing at the weekend too.

I’ve always been a Driver girl myself but recently my work colleague and I decided to try something off the beaten track — and I’m so glad we did. Set away from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross, 125 Canal is about 5 minutes walk up Caledonian Road and overlooks the canal — it was a beautiful sunny day when we went so obviously we sat outside. The interior is my favourite kind of ‘worn’ where you feel like you could curl up with a book in the corner of the pub and no one would bother you all day other than to top up your coffee(or pint as the evening begins)! The staff are super friendly(especially the cute one called David who I imagine has some great after-work banter on a Friday evening) and the menu is really varied with lots of hearty food on the menu(not pretentiousness at all). I had the sausage and mash which was absolutely divine and my friend had serious food envy of the couple next to us who were having the Ploughman’s sandwich. The portions are absolutely huge so it’s great value for money and I would definitely go here again. New Friday lunch spot? I think so.

My friends and I go to Canal 125 somedays after work and find the place easy to relax in. We keep getting invited down to the Sunday roast(I think by the owner or manager I’m not sure but he’s very nice and always looks after us when we’re there) so we went last weekend and it was great! Too much food but delicious all the same. Will defo do that again.

Outdoor patio overlooks the canal, and is usable even in chilly weather thanks to heat lamps. I didn’t try the food, but was happy with the drinks.

A bit of ann odd find along side the canal on caladonien road, about 10 mins from kings cross. I had read a review on this pub so decided to give it a try. It was great for a day in the sun as there is a good outside terrace that overlooks the canal so great for people watching. I get the impression people come in more for the live music and its a bit of a regualrs haunt. It was nice and chilled and the food looked quite nice but only worth popping in if you happen to be passing, i wouldnt seek it out especially.

I went to a private party here, and have held a private party here myself. I love this venue and its location and when i organised my sisters birthday i found the staff very accomodating. The party i went to recently again was really nice and we had a bar-b-q outside which was well organised and cooked well. The sound system is really good and i love the disco globe! On the upper floor there is also a terrace so when you throw a party, its easy access for the smokers, and also an oppotunity to enjoy the evenings when the weather is nice.

This bar is somewhat off the beaten track, located a 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross station. However it is a good venue with some quality music nights to make the walk worthwhile. Situated by the canal it has a very nice waterfront terrace with patio heaters and benches. The downstairs bar is well stocked plus sofas and tables, complemented by DJ equipment. Pretty standard, comfortable, but the staff are a bit unfriendly. There are 2 other rooms which are nice for private parties although we found hiring them to be more trouble than it was worth., due to an awkward bar manager. Not a bad bar, but could be better
