It’s really good. Went there on a Sunday lunchtime had a cheezy garlic bread and two pizzas between the two of us– a carne and a pollo. Both excellent, really cheesy, staff were really friendly will go again soon.

Went on Monday for open mic comedy night. Good venue, beers are around £4. It is not dress up as obviously the rest of the area is not, but the crowd in there was nice. The only problem is seating for an event is pretty hard to get unless you’re there early. Otherwise would recommend for a night they have an event, a raised stage, quick and friendly wait staff, and decent location(5 – 10 minute walk from Aldgate East or the 205).

Never payed attention to this place when around whitechapel/brick lane(at the same time don’t know if the place has been around long) but made my way down there for a friend because of a comedy open mic event and it was brilliant! Really nice event, highly recommended, and friendly staff and people! Food is served until 11 and bar was open until 1! Beers could have been cheaper but all in all it was a fantastic night!

Relaxed atmosphere with great chill out music and a good selection of beers. Would be great for its live music too — will definitely return.

OK, so went the the cabaret event on a Sunday,(East end cabaret) and it was like walking into a different bar! obviously it was the same bar, I made sure of that! but the atmosphere was great, beautiful red lights on the stage and the seating had been changed around so everyone could watch the performance. Thought the cabaret was fantastic, and very very funny ANDFREE! strange why the event was on in that bar and not Friday night at one of the big Cabaret bars in London, but it worked. there are a few ‘front row’ mezzanine tables which had good few and downstairs had a great atmosphere. This is night and day from when I first went in a few weeks ago in the day time, it defiantly is a evening venue when they have things like cabaret on. they do have other nights like comedy and open mic, and if done in a similar way I am sure will be very popular. When In the east end on a night out, a definite must go.

Carnivale is one of the many pubs that line Whitechapel high street, competing with each other for customers. Now east end is certainly not my favourite place in London … and i usually find the pubs there especially unappealing, as they are generally dirty and stinky and very ordinary. But not Carnivale. The pub is is small and clean … and possibly on two levels(i stayed all throughout on the ground floor though). The drinks seemed to be a little cheaper than average. When i first went in on a sunday evening in March, they were having a cabaret show. I was told that they have it every sunday evening at 8. The melodious music cheered me up that day, and who doesn’t need a little bit of cheering up on a sunday night?

A great venue for small acts, a restaurant, a bar, but not a pub. Both the ground floor and the balconied first floor have views of a raised stage area. It’s a big, open and airy space which works well for small acts. The toilets are unisex stalls with a selection of dressing tables surmounted by washbasins, which given the halogen downlights and industrial heating and air conditioning tubes, all seems a little surreal. They have no real ales on tap but do sell them by the bottle, they do sell food, but on this occasion I didn’t try it, I was here for the show. They have a comedy night on Mondays, a couple live music acts and a DJ night during the week, Eastend Cabaret are regulars on Sunday. Their website covers upcoming events so have a look. The staff are all professional and pleasant and as a place to see a small live event, I can’t really find fault nor help but like this place.
