This is real, legitimate Spanish food and it is incredible! We arrived rather late for dinner and though they were brimming with people, the lovely wait staff found a place for two on the outdoor patio. Cannot say enough how fantastic the wait staff was– attentive, knowledgable, and friendly. We got three platters(all gorgeously prepared) — the garlic prawns, the cheese platter, and the charcuterie platter. Nothing was wrong with our meal. The cheese was savory, the shrimp was zesty, and the Spanish ham is a MUST. Really incredible meal. This place will not disappoint!

The service was good and the food was all very nice. The octopus leg was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sangria was equally on point.

Excellent service — phenomenal food — cozy with outside seating available(love that!) Tapas were excellent — can’t say enough great things about the charcuterie platter — but the octopus leg is to die for — so delish!

Pretty disappointing, mostly due to terrible service. One waitress came over to take our order but only took half of the order before awkwardly walking off. Another kept bringing us food that was not ours, and we were charged for food that we never received. Maybe they were training new waitstaff last night? The food was decent, but with so many other great places to eat, why bother?

Group of 5 at 7 pm with a reservation made only a few hours before. Delicious tapas. We shared the gordal olives(amazing), chorizo on toast(delicious), traditional omelette(worth getting), salted marcona almonds(so buttery tasting), monte enebro(goats cheese with honey orange blossom-yes pls), and manchego with quince paste(salty goodness), oh and the chicory salad which was slim but delicious. We also had the croquettes and a charcuterie plate that were ok, and papas bravas. I would have order more chorizo instead of those last three, it was excellent. Great place, good food, but slow service and crowded space but I’d certainly go again.

Went for lunch and while it wasn’t mind blowing, it was good. We ordered grilled octopus, prawns in garlic, both of which were delicious. Croquettes, patatas bravas, salad and sautéed squid were so-so. Wine list was decent, but high priced. A nice option if you have a few people to split the bill with. Otherwise, there are better Spanish options in the area.

What a GREAT suthentic Spanish Restaurant. As a native of Spain I can attest to their delicious and authentic tapas and dishes. We had their mixed charcuterie of Iberico Jamon, Salchichon, Lomo and Chorizo. They were all magnificent. Their tortilla de patatas brought me home with perfectly cooked potatoes and eggs. We had their sauteed artichokes and wild mushrooms. The nightly special was a Grilled Octopus which was delicious and tender with Paprika Mashed Potatoes. A very satisfying and authentic Spanish dinner.

We went for dinner after seeing an exhibition at the Natural History Museum. We ordered four dishes: prawns in garlic sauce, pork steak, octopus with mashed potatoes, and ham and chorizo croquettes. All four dishes were flavourful and solid. I particularly liked the prawns in garlic sauce; I recommend ordering a side of bread to dip it and enjoy it with the garlic sauce. All other dishes were also fresh, and we left having finished everything down to the last pieces. Ambience was good overall, though hard to say definitively as we were sat in a corner away from the heart of the restaurant. Nonetheless, when we first walked in, I thought the décor and most everything were reasonably sophisticated. Lastly, service was good and prompt. Our waiter came to take and serve our orders on time, and was kind overall. Would most definitely return if I’m in the area again. I heard their stall in Borough Market is also good!

Food was distinctly okay. Tortilla and queso manchego was fairly good but the chorizo was bland and rubbery. Normally I love chorizo but we didn’t even end up finishing it. Wasn’t cheap but then again most places around South Ken aren’t. If your looking for a good Spanish Tapas I would recommend El Metro by Fulham Broadway.

Stumbled onto this quaint restaurant on our first night in London. Tapas were soooo delicious friendly service and good wine. We had the grilled octopus, shrimp in garlic and olive oil, grilled pork with confit onions. Every bite was wonderful. Beware…the friendly waitress asked if we wanted olives for the table. I easily said Yes because I assumed it was free but in fact we were billed for them. I would defiantly go back there and I highly recommend this place.

Once we got the attention of our server and she realized we ordering a lot of food(we were starving after a day of sightseeing), service was fine. All the tapas were fine, not spectacularly good — the best dishes were the octopus and the charcuterie. I wish they had more vegetable dishes. The bread seemed a little stale.

We stopped by during an afternoon tea time for some small bites. I felt the service is quiet misleading, and they tend to add changes beyond the menu. When we looked at the menu at the entrance and the cured meat display looks attempting, we decide to come inside. Once seated, the receptionist asked us whether we want some olive when we are deciding on the menu. I particular told him that if «it’s just samples, sure.»(w assuming it’s complementary) So he served us a small bowl of the green olive(w orange) inside, which latter on appeared on our bill for full charge. we didn’t argue because we did eat it, but it wasn’t clear at the beginning. I ordered a grilled octopus leg w mash potato and jarred chicken liver w tossed bread. Octopus is quiet tasty, like other reviews says, but it took a while, which was a little disappointing because we told them that we are on the go, and our waiter didn’t warn us about what dishes are quick or not. Chicken liver is not bad, but the tossed bread is as hard as rocks. we have to ask for regular bread to eat w the chicken liver paste, and later on told the waitress that it was very hard(not just crunchy). She said I am sorry, and it’s the way it’s made. When we got our bills, bread was extra 2 pounds, and 12.5% gratitude was added automatically, even though we didn’t enjoy our service at all. it’s quiet a disappointing dining experience.

Another one of those precisely three star places, where everything is very edible, but just that. I always find it hard to justify spending money on food that’s just average, because I cook and I also go out a LOT, so if a place is deserving of my attention, it better effin deliver or ELSE. All the tapas style dishes came out pretty swiftly, and the Manchego was possibly one of the only highlights of the night. The rest was bland. Sorry, Casa Brindisa.

Unlike others, I had a very good experience with the service at this branch of Casa Brindisa. I was about 15 minutes early for my reservation and the host was very apologetic(even though it wasn’t her fault I was early), and kept me updated on how my table to clearing up. The waitress was attentive and helpful when we had questions regarding the menu. I particularly really enjoyed the garlic prawns(gambas de ajillo) and octopus. Food(no wine) for three fairly big eaters was about £75, so really not too bad, considering the area and the type of food(small plates always add up!). I wouldn’t travel across town for it, but it is a convenient and tasty option in an otherwise rather touristy area.

If you read one line of my review, terrific food; horrible, horrible service. I booked a table for 4 over the phone for a Wednesday night. We had a couple in town to entertain. We arrived 10 – 15 minutes behind schedule as the tube was unfortunately delayed. Upon arrival, the host duly informed us that we were very lucky to have a table and normally they would not be able to seat us. Keep in mind, this is a Wednesday night. After we got over the shockingly patronizing insult from the host, we were seated to our table. We sat without service for 10 – 15 minutes. Perhaps they were upset with our tardiness. The bus boy came around and took our drink order but was unable to speak or understand English. I asked for a pint of beer and he didn’t understand. Each of us had to point to the drinks on the menu to show him what we wanted. Our waitress came over 5 – 10 minutes thereafter and took our starters. We had a cheese and charcuterie plate which was delicious. After the plates were cleared, we sat there. and we sat some more. No attention at all from the wait staff. Again we had to ask the bus boy for service. He summonsed our waitress who blatantly rolled her eyes in front of the table when we expressed the notion of ordering more food. More rudeness ensued but I gather you get the picture at this stage. When our bill came, they had charged us for two extra plates that were never served to us. We had to ask the host to review the bill. They sent over our waitress who expressed she served us everything we ordered. After literally counting the plates on our table, she realized we did not receive one of the plates. Begrudgingly, she processed a refund on our bill. We will not be going back and do not recommend this restaurant to any respectable human being.

I don’t find myself going for Spanish food particularly often, possibly because I’ve never been to Spain so I have no idea if it’s really authentic in London(that’s a mini Portlandia reference…), but I also just associate it with queuing and spending more than I intended it. Maybe I’m just being a cynical old bastard(I do have a lot of white hairs it must be said) so you can probably ignore this entire paragraph. Anyway, in four years of being a student at Imperial, I finally got round to trying here after I’d finished(I know right?) Luckily at 8:30 on a Tuesday there was room, although it was fairly busy. The space is exactly what you might expect, although I found it a bit on the echo-y side so I had a little trouble hearing people(I’m terrible at distinguishing voices in high-noise places); the staff were fine, although not the friendliest in the world — I’ll go ahead and tip the«functional» box. We had: — charcuterie plate(chorizo, loin, ham) which, although omitting the Iberico ham(that’s on the more expensive platter) was rather good, — manchego(with a tangy fruit jelly)…not my favourite cheese, but I liked the combination. — Gambas al ajillo(prawns in garlic butter), nom nom nom, garlic, butter, prawns, in a sizzling dish? I stank all evening but it was totally worth it. Plus everyone should smell like garlic all the time. We had some grilled tomatoey bread to mop up the butter :) — grilled octopus leg, nicely charred on the outside, not overcooked, and the potatoes were perfect for putting in the prawn butter. — Bean stew with sausage and pork: a nice hearty winter dish, although it wasn’t particularly inspiring. Still, nice to have a bit of and reasonably filling. Not a lot of plates between three people, but fortunately I wasn’t hugely hungry. Still, it was a decent amount of food and came to just over £20 a head. It’s fine, but on a different day I suspect I could easily drop another £10. That said, the portions are reasonably sized and it was as pricey as I expected. All in all, I’d go back and recommend it if you’re in the area. My biggest gripe was the lack of a Mariachi band but I’ll email the suggestion to them — hopefully they pick up on it.

We were visited some of the museums that London has to offer when we came across an area filled with restaurants. We landed on Casa Brindisa by chance and were very happy we did. The food was amazing and we were lucky to get seated right before a rush so we did not have to wait long. I would recommend this place and possibly making a reservation if they do them. We sat outside which in Sept was still very nice.

Mehsville. Been a number of times since my first review. The staff are so Spanish they literally are unable to place an order. It’s great to be authentic but its quite another thing to be wholly incapable of doing the one thing you’re expected of at work. I went with a friend and had to hold back howls of laughter(which eventually, were not able to be constrained) when our server just couldn’t speak a word of English and he kept repeating his nonsensical explanation of the day’s specials. Food is stodgy and all tastes the same. I swear, patatas bravas, croquettes and spanish omelet all tasted identical. Bizarre. Beers are good, but so are the ones at my local off-license so?

Don’t we all like to go for a nice glass of wine and some tapas before ambling over to the V&A for a late viewing?! No? Well, you truly missing out then. Give it a go … its exquisite. The Casa Brindisa is based in the street between the tube station and the museums, so if the V&A isn’t you thing, maybe the Science Museum will do the trick. Anyway, when you walk into this busy tapas place you have the option to either sit down at a table or at the marble bar counter. So far I’ve always chosen the counter as you can watch the mostly Spanish water prepare drinks and cut the meat. The menu on the counter is reduced to tapas, but I never found that a problem. Share some goats cheese in honey, or some thinly sliced cured meat or the toasted bread with garlic butter … maybe not, if you want to go out into public after it. The wine list is extensive and ranges from glasses of house wine at around £4 up to much more expensive bottles. So far I liked all the ones I tried. It’s not a cheap place, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere every time I went and both drinks and food are amazing.
