I’m a totally foodie and went in with low expectations after the reviews I read, but it was fine! Nice clean pub. TVs to watch sports. The mushroom risotto was really good and I tried the brownie desert. It was amazing. You have to order at the bar(maybe because it was so busy) so wasn’t like normal service but it was just fine. I’d go back!

If this pub were a colour it would a beige. Everything about it is bland, Fullers selected standard psuedo Victorian for the interior and the background music compilation is the village hall old pop pap collection. It’s only redeeming quality is that unusually for the area it generally isn’t busy. This is the pub equivalent of sitting in fresh vomit, it’s pleasantly moist and warm yet nauseous. They have free WiFi but the Fullers cack-handed registration procedure is tedious and the connection is very unreliable. If you want Fullers ales, walk 5 minutes to The Counting House on Cornhill, it is infinitely better.

I often find myself at business lunches in this pub/hotel/restaurant. The front is a really nice pub usually filled with guys in suits. In the back they have a restaurant, and I like the fact that the pub area is very distinct from the restaurant and it isn’t a «pub serving food» but an actual restaurant. They have sandwiches, salads, and mains… usually runs me about 10£ for lunch. The food is just okay – I seem to always order the chicken basil pesto sandwich and I always think to myself, boy this is bland – why did I order it again? But with little options for a professional lunch around the area, I do like it – you can have a conversation and not feel like you are eating a sandwich out of a box.
