The clue’s in the name, really, although in fairness that’s a lot more to enjoy. The menu offers a good mix of(admittedly cheese-biased) bistro-type food, and serves as a good dancing partner to a very serviceable wine list, with a range of mid-to high end choices. Picking from the middle-ish of the list will run you 25 – 30 pounds. Staff are friendly and helpful, and will encourage you to go for a bottle rather than a glass .Don’t plan on going back to work if you’ve come for lunch; a great place to sit and people watch, and well worth a visit, if you can get a seat.

Having a good relaxed lunch is crucial for me. I like to take an hour’s break, sit down, relax and enjoy my lunch. However, how much I love this; I can’t have long lunches everyday. Working a 9 – 5 job in Financial Institution, there are some restriction on how long you can have your lunch break for. The Cheese at Leadenhall( ) is not only a cheese shop. Lunch is served daily; cheese and meat platters are served throughout the day. Whenever possible, I try to pop down to the Cheese at Leadenhall to treat myself with their lovely lunches and relax before I continue the next half of the day. Especially, in the warmer days, it’s perfect to sit outside having lunch with a good book to read. The menu consists of the classic cheese and meat platter, Croque Monsieur, omelette, Welsh Rarebit and daily specials ranging from salad to pasta. During the colder months, a choice of Cheese Fondue(in cider) was also available which I was fortunate enough to try. Good melted cheese cooked in cider, what I can say. Scrumptious! Not forgetting, the Cheese at Leadenhall is also wine bar– With good selections of wine to have in and take away. To top all the reason why I love this place so much is the Leadenhall Cheese Crew. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Never once I had uninteresting moment at The Cheese. Come here often and will definitely keep on coming– as long I don’t get relocated for work!
