I had a very pleasant visit in Chez Bob(located right next to the Belsize Park tube station). When you walk into the restaurant you are immidiately transported from the rainy and cold streets of London to the warm embrace of what feels like a combination of a French and British bistro. The restaurant is nice and spacious with a pretty décor. The service was very attentive, polite, friendly and professional. I was told the specials, which I always like, but I went for a kale and feta salad with Salmon and roasted walnuts — a delicious dish indeed! I wanted to treat myself this time and for dessert I went for the decadent but classic Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was actually one of the best I ever had — not to mention it was absolutely huge! Next time I’m around Belsize Park, I’ll definitely go here again!

My wife and I just had a great meal at Chez Bob in north London. The food was good and the service was amazing. Everyone working here tonight was exceptional, especially our waitress who was from Zurich. I would go back often if I lived in the area.

A decent little lunch. I had the broccli soup and the trout for main. As its two courses for £10! It was all gorgeous but after trying my friends whitebait starter with chilli dip wish I had had that instead! Nice location and pretty cheap.

Great little eatery, the steak frites washed down with a nice Merlot is exceptional value.

Never heard of this place, and was only in London for a few days for a weekend and fun with some friends The food, the drinks and the service was only second to the company!

Been here twice now– once for breakfast and once for dinner. Good service & good food both times. I appreciate the ample vegetarian options on the menu. Breakfast– I got the Bubble Florentine & my husband ordered the Bubble Benedict. We both enjoyed it– though still felt a bit hungry after. Dish was very flavorsome though. Ordered some smoothies as well. I got the ‘jammin’ smoothie which was too over-powered by apple for my liking. He ordered the ‘honky tonky’ smoothie which was way better and the mint went really well with it. Smoothies also a bit small for the price. Dinner– When we came for dinner I had the french onion soup(which was really flavorsome) and the mac and cheese. Mac and cheese is a small portion so make sure you order something with it. I appreciate that its 7.50– but for the size it should be 5 pounds at most. My husband had the rib-eye-on-the-bone and really enjoyed it– and said they cooked the meat perfectly. The cocktails we had mojito & daiquiri were lovely as was the pinot noir wine we had. All in all-good food & friendly service– I would go more if prices were a bit lower. Still– solid 4 stars for food and service.

The restaurant is good for the local area but I have been to far classier places. However that is justified by the prices and the service which are very good. I love their attitude and it is obvious they are trying hard.

Very nice food and place. Attentive service, even though the dessert needed reminding. However, when all was said and done, it also turned out to be a bit on the pricey side. At least in my opinion. The starter was tomato soup with garlic foccacia. Extremely good. It set the expectations high for when the main course arrived, which was a bit of disappointment. The meat was a bit touch to chew and industrial french fries did nothing for the eye. Came back on higher score when the sticky toffee with vanilla ice cream arrived for dessert. All in all, I recommend this place.

Best American-style food in NW3. Yeah, there are better places towards Bayswater/Nottinghill but if you are looking for some american staples(chili dogs and root beer) then this is your best bet. There is Tinsletown and Dauch & sons in Hampstead but this is your best bang for buck. Love the shakes, brunch is decent too. Always been able to get a seat and service is great.

This morning I was wandering around Hampstead and finally ended up having a late breakfast at Chez Bob. Unfortunately, there was no table free inside, but as it was kind of warm, I went to a table outside. I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and a sausage. The food was very deliciuos, the bread was tasty and I really liked that the bacon was not the kind of thick sliced stuff you get in London quite often, but some nicely thin and crispy pieces. The home made lemonade I ordered as drink was also really good. Overall, this is a very good place for a breakfast. And I guess, it’s good for steaks or burgers as well.

This is local to me but I only go here when I can get the meal deal which is steak and chips with a glass of wine for £9, before 7pm Mon-Thurs. The steak was good and large, with tasty french fries. Nothing really wrong with it but there always seems much more interesting places to go.

Overcame my fear of restaurants with ‘Chez’ in their name and was pleased. To date have done 2 brunches and a dinner. Brunch — Sunshine breakky both times– it’s good but let down by the toast. Most recently was envious of my gals French toast. Dinner — burger was excellent. 1 star off for poorish service and another for the fact it’s not super wow.

The brunch is a bit pricey for common American fare but not entirely atypical for Belsize Park. Service was prompt and accurate. The waitress even returned with a giant caddy of sauces. It’s good to have options. The medium-rare steak turned out to be more towards well done, but on the other hand the fish and chips turned out quite alright. I always enjoy seeing a clean presentation of a whole half fish fillet placed atop fries.

My cousins had decided to have a group dinner out while I was visiting. They decided on Chez Bob. It’s hard to complain about a restaurant when I’m being treated, however I think if I was the person treating, I’d have been a little irritated. The food was literally A-OK. We ordered 4 appetizers: halloumi skewers, potato skins, olives and rosemary loaf. The rosemary loaf was actually really wonderful as was the dipping oil/sauce it came with. The other apps were fine, but nothing really to write a review over. For my main course I ordered the Macaroni and Cheese, it was okay, but I’ve definitely had better at many other places, my kitchen included. My latte was very well prepared, very creamy a nice end to the evening. Perhaps my biggest complaint was the service. While we were a bigger party(6 of us), there weren’t many other patrons that evening, and while our server was friendly, he didn’t seem to want to accommodate my cousin and his wife on their food request. The service was slow as well… in fact, one of us actually had to return her meal to the kitchen because it was cold. Again, it’s hard to write too negative a review, it wasn’t a bad experience… I’ve experienced better but I’ve also experienced much worse. Besides, the company I was with was a 5 star«as good as it gets».

Wonderful new locally owned restaurant on Haverstock Hill! A truly delightful addition to the neighbourhood, and a terrific alternative to some of the other nearby dining establishment chains where you’re more likely to be served a raspberry by a 5 year old than your meal by the server… Not that Chez Bob isn’t child friendly, because it certainly is, but nor is it overrun with kids. And the food is simply, humble, and VERY good… lots of vegetarian options too!

I don’t really rate any of the other«chez“s on Haverstock Hill(Chez Girard, Chez Nous), so was a little hesitant to try the newest addition. Who knew Chez Bob would totally exceeded my expectations? The service was a little spotty, but you’ll soon forget about that once you take a look at the menu. It’s an eclectic mix of home-style American dishes like Mac n Cheese, ribs and burgers for lunch/dinner as well as an array of omelettes and an amazing french toast for brunch. Their smoothies are also expertly presented and amazing! I also really liked the eclectic set up with the colourful tiles, the random bull horns and cowboy hats scattered all over the walls and the awesome rock/blues oldies they play.

This is a great spot for Sunday brunch in Belsize Park. Located next door to the Everyman Theatre, Chez Bob is now located in the building that was once Blue and Black restaurant. The All Day Brunch Menu is a nice idea for the weekend. After all, who can resist a dish named, «Bob’s Big Brunch Fry Up?» I’ve had several of the brunch options — and both are a decent value for the price. They also have an extensive drinks menu. The Pimm’s cup that we ordered was tasty. The most memorable part of Chez Bob for us was the incredible brownie that we had for dessert. I’ve finally found a restaurant that can compete with Gail’s on Hampstead High Street! If you are a brownie-lover, head to Chez Bob or Gail’s for quite a treat!
