Oh god, Chipotle. I love you so much. I know, you’re not«real» Mexican food, but you’re the closest I can get in London at lunchtime, so we’ll let it slide. It helps that your product is consistent from country to country(well, except for the E.Coli. — but here’s the rare exception where inauthenticity is a good thing) so I always know what to expect. Decent, filling, and quick mexican food. What’s that you say? No free tortilla chips like at Benito’s Hat? This is a Good Thing, means they don’t have to distract you from a subpar burrito with free chips. LETTHEBURRITOBETHESTAR. Or in my case, salad. Why a salad? Because they will pile on the ingredients with a salad or burrito bowl. I normally stretch before getting into the queue because I’m scared I’ll throw out my back bringing that behemoth back to my desk. I just realized I shouldn’t be eating this lunch today. 5 hours sleep + food coma = afternoon of surfing Buzzfeed and BBC. Chipotle, the gift that keeps on giving!

Mexican food(and south american food in general) is still somewhat new in London, with few restaurants offering a genuine yet diverse menu. This means that when it comes to burritos, going with Chipotle is a safe choice. This is conveniently located on Wardour street, opposite . The burrito menu is pretty standard, giving the customer a choice between two different types of rice(white or brown), beans(black or pinto), two different salsas(spicy or medium spicy) and between chicken, beef, pulled pork and steak. You can choose to add guacamole, sour cream and cheese at extra cost. It isn’t super exciting, but it has everything you need to make a burrito. They come well wrapped in a small basket, and are large enough to justify the almost £7 price tag. The queue moves quick and the burritos are made swiftly. Essentially one can think of it as a South American Subway. The restaurant is clean, the staff seemed tired on a Friday evening and weren’t the most polite. We paid £15 for two burritos and a can of soft drink, which is a fair bit for a fast food restaurant, but less than eating next door at . While in no rush to go back, it’s nice to know it’s there as an option if in a rush.

Oh chipotle! How could you do this to me?! Everything about the place is awesome as usual, except this time my chicken was not cooked properly. They were super apologetic and replaced my burrito immediately… But this is like the first scratch on your new car, or the first negative rating on your perfect eBay score… Please do not let this happen again!

Okay, so after my last mexican food experience resulted in food poisoning I was a little nervous, but I ended up being very pleasantly surprised. The interior looked a little like Hannibal’s Kitchen, minimalist art deco, but somehow remaining rustic. It’s set up as an open kitchen, so you can watch your food as it’s being prepared– always good for a health-and-safety check, and if you let them know you’re a Chipotle Virgin(as I was) they guide you through the process step-by-step, letting you know whats dry, whats wet, flavours etc. We went for a standard beef steak burrito and it was brilliant. The meat was really succulent and tender, everything was perfectly cooked. The only downside was it was a little bland, so id definitely recommend paying the 1.50 extra for guacamole just to really set it off. As it’s a little messy, its not really something to eat-as-you-walk, but either eating in or taking it home would have been a much better idea! Fantastic experience, would definitely go back ANDBRINGALLMYFRIENDS :)

Brown rice and the mild salsa sauce were great. Pretty good value for money. Definitely recommend it.

I’m a big Mexican fan, but have been spoilt by regular trips to San Diego, where the Mexican food is fantastic as it’s on the border with Mexico. I’ve been to a number of Chipotles State side, but never in the UK(I know, what have I been doing?!) I like the variety of choice, with each dish having 4 or 5 variations, including a vegetarian choice. I went for a pork burrito, and was pleasantly surprised that it was free range meat(big plus points for ethics) The ability to tailor the fillings depending on your spice tendencies is great, but they lost favor with me when I had to pay an extra couple of pounds for Guacamole. A great, fresh, fast food option and I’ll be going back

Chipotle, the home of not real authentic Mexican but delicious all the same. Why does it taste so good? The organic ingredients? The brown rice? The metal and wood restaurant interior? Nobody knows!

Been to Chipotle a few times in the states so was excited to visit once down in London! The food was really great as always! The store was very loud though meaning that it was really hard to understand what they were asking behind the counter! Ok if you are a regular and know your order but a bit confusing if you are not. Overall experience was great and whatever I did end up ordering was delicious!

Man I really thought this place will help my taste buds since I miss my burritos but it sure did not do it. The tortilla sucks and the chicken. Man this is what California does to you. Makes you so picky.

Open late in the heart of Soho! It’s not the cheapest meal in these parts and for the money, it’s not the most generous either but at least it adheres to universal standards we all expect from chains like this. Service is brilliant and always with a smile and you’ll be in and out in 10 minutes unless you’re a loiterer. A meal for one is around £8 including a drink but the portions are pretty lacklustre. Of course you could double up but then you’re probably going to have to sell a kidney to fund that. I kid… it’s not that expensive, this is London after all but for the money it’d be nice to walk away feeling full rather than making a dash for Five Guys to fill the void Chipotle was unable to.

I have been craving Chipotle since I left the US two years ago. What passess off as Chipotle her is a huge dissapointment. The staff was not friendly, the offer of ingredients is not amazing and when I asked for the famous Chipotle sauce– the staff looked at me like im crazy. I would recommend you the mexican food truck under the waterloo bridge– definitely better deal and quality for the money.

This is honestly the best customer service I’ve ever had at a chipotle. The workers are so nice and give you generous amounts of food if you just ask. We went for Halloween and they told us it was £2 for everything! And extra free anything too along with guac!

Who doesn’t like a burrito? I love it. This place does amazing buritos. We were hungry and had an hour till train to go home and needed a quick bite as we were walking all day long. Tired and hungry. Every restaurant there had long lines and saw this little shop. They have a range of options for burritos. Brown rice or white, black beans or other one forgot name and lots more. The highlight was their pulled beef. Was amazing! just melts in your mouth, the spice is great. And they also do half and half which is what I got. Beef and chicken and it was great choice. it is messy once you go passed halfway of buritto but I didn’t care. Great service and price is similar to the places in Birmingham.

Très bon accueil et c’est parfait pour manger sur le pouce pour pas cher. C’est de la restauration rapide donc on né va pas philosopher sur la garantie du respect de la cuisine mexicaine. Pour moi c’était très bien et original

My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is that I think it’s over priced. Otherwise I love it! I had to stop making it a regular place as it was starting to eat up my earnings! The portions are good but they are great if you pay to get double the protein. I get chicken and beef which is amazingly tasty together. They have a chipotle Tabasco which is incredible. They do some awesome promotions, like for Halloween you could get a meal for £2 if you came in fancy dress. Or the same at Christmas if you come in a Xmas jumper. Then it’s definitely good value. They do a really yummy margarita as well, so quite fun to pop to with friends before heading out! Although I would say share one of your going out as otherwise you will feel so full and sluggish!

A little pricey — a pork, sorry, ‘carnitas’ burrito, guacamole(extra £!) and a water was just less than a tenner. But it’s tasty, fresh and filling. Only problem is, because it’s in Soho, lots of pretty people abound. What was the first thing the 2 gorgeous models girls saw when they came in? Me stuffing my gaping maw with a giant burrito. If you want to preserve your dignity in front of the opposite sex, then go and stuff, sorry, eat, in a corner.

Being American, I was interested in seeing how Chipotle was in Europe. The first big thing I noticed was that you Brits love to pile on the meat! In the states, our burritos are more evenly spread with veg. The staff was super friendly, but like to play favorites. My boyfriend got free guacamole but I had to pay for mine! Super jealous.

American in London review: very similar to what you would find in the U.S. Tortilla and taco shells are slightly different. Maybe made with wheat? No soda machine but they do have bottles and cans without ice.

I love this place. I used to always get the burrito and I was moderately satisfied but last night I tried the taco meal which was 3 hard shelled tacos with all the fixens. Barbacoa(my fave), the roasted veggies, no rice, no beans, medium salsa(spicy enough to feel the heat but not enough to make me sweat) sour cream, and guac. Yum-town. Mega Yum. I love to eat tacos. hehe

Went here for lunch with a couple of work colleagues. I ordered the Beef Burrito. It was made up of a healthy wholemeal tortilla, chunks of beef(quite chewy), hot sauce, cheese, sour cream and lettuce. The service was quick and speedy but price wise its a little steep compared to other Burrito/Mexican chains such as Tortilla. The restaurant its self was really nice, high stools with tables, great for a quick lunches. To sum up: I can’t help but feel that I’ve had better burritos in the area for a lesser price…
