I won’t say it’s the best fish and chips ever. That title belongs to the seaside shops and joints for obvious reasons. In London this fish bar is well staffed and has a good range of fish to choose from. The price is worth the meal. The sauce is fresh and tasty. The sausages and chicken are also fresh and well seasoned. Nothing here is processed, batter and fish cakes are handmade. 10⁄10 in London

Good price. Huge portions! Like, seriously! Two can share easily. But, I got the halibut this time and it was so dry! Worse than the cod I got last time.

This place has been here for YEARS and they have maintained their standards. The chips are excellent but I would not say the fish is the best I have had in Chiswick. Too many bones are found in the Cod & Haddock and the batter it is just too greasy. In recent years a new Fish & Chips place called ‘The Catch’ has opened on Chiswick High Road next to Turnham Green Church, I prefer their fish as it is always boned properly and the taste somewhat more to my liking. It is however, pricey for the cuisine. Late 2011 also saw the opening of ‘The Codfather’ which is a part of the ‘Lara’ Turkish restaurant. I also find this Fish & Chippy located a few doors from Turnham Green Tube to be slightly better than Chris’s. Chris’s is probably still cheaper though and they do have consistently good chips!

This is definitely one of the best places for fish and chips. Having my boyfriend tell me how good it was so many times I’ve lost count, I’m glad I finally tried it when he got it after work one day. It is really good and if you are closeish to it I would day always a safe bet going here.

Best Chip shop in London, Standard. This place has been around for years and rightly so. Reasonably priced, option to eat in or take away. The stereotypical chip shop image is what adds to it’s charm. A Chiswick institution that should be preserved forever!

I don’t eat fish and chips very often, but I am lucky that I have Chris’s fish bar up the road from me because their fish and chips are excellent. I would highly recommend their fish and chips.

West end’s best! I thought I had found a place opposite Chris’s but it is now too expensive in comparison. There cod is fresh, and it is lightly battered and crispy. Hard thing to achieve as I have tried many places that is more batter that fish, here it is the opposite. Apparently, they have been around for a really long time which is probably why with experience have been able to achieve something everyone likes. I have taken five different people there and they all love it. If you are into chunky chips then you are in the right place. And it is good for late night craving, you need £5.50 and hunger.

Great fish and chips, due to the high quality of the cooking oil that the use. Their cod is alway of a high standard and their batter is light and crispy. What more could you want

The best fish and chips I have found in West London, this joint is now being threatened by the more upmarket(read, flashy) ‘Catch’. But there really is no comparison. Big chunky chips, perfectly cooked fish or chicken, all the chip shop favourites. And cheap to boot. If you want proper English grub then this is your plaice(chortle). It’s cheap as chips. Good Cod, it’s great. OK, I’ll stop with the puns now

Chris’s Fish Bar is another Chiswick institution. It’s been around for years(although recently taken over by someone new) When you are wandering up Turnham Green Terrace, it’s hard to miss as the tantalising wafts of chips unfurl under your nose! One of my favourite smells, I have to admit! It’s not the cheapest fish and chips place I’ve been to, but it’s the only one in Chiswick and it’s always been delicious! Especially with a pickled egg! Hmm
