They offer a student deal(with inevitably smaller portions, and I suspect, slightly poorer quality goods), and I used to eat here a fair bit. The food is decent enough, but a bad take away experience put paid to that one. Dspite requesting the student deal when I ordered, I turned up to find that they’d managed to prepare a full price meal. Not exactly a problem, but given that I’d been here a fair bit in the past and had only brought the right money to pay for what I’d ordered, you’d think they would accept their mistake and come to some kind of compromise? Not so. The Chutney Raj approach seems to be to call an intimidatingly large number of staff to come into the restaurant while you’re trying to come to an agreement over the price, and then(I’m not joking about this) literally snatch the money out of your hands and tell you to leave the restaurant. Frankly the most bizarre experience I think I’ve ever whilst trying to procure some dinner, and one which I’m not planning on repeating any time soon.
