This is a decent enough cinema, with all chains you know what you are getting and in this instance it had the added bonus of being clean and having friendly staff! The sound was quite fuzzy though(Screen 2), which was a little bit disappointing. It’s our second closest cinema, so it’s all dependant on the times of films as to whether we will go there again. I’ll then be able to tell whether it was a one off fuzz or a consistent problem. But for now — 3 stars.

I had the pleasure of seeing Cloud Atlas here last weekend, and given that it runs a whopping 172 minutes, I had a good chance to get a feel for all of the theater. There prices are standard for the Cineworld family, and I had great service from the guys at concession, very friendly and helped me move quickly through the line. The ticket checking person made me show my unlimited card again along with showing my ticket, which was a bit weird, especially as I was laden with concessions. But, that’s extra attentiveness I guess, can’t fault someone for doing their job too well. The theater itself was quite small, no stadium seating, and mildly comfortable. The main thing I noticed is that it was warm, much warmer than theaters are normally kept(I know they keep theaters cold because I used to work at them). It wasn’t uncomfortable, just seemed a bit different than most theaters. At three hours, I became a bit uncomfortable in the seats, but I have a feeling that would happen at any theater when you’re sitting for three hours. The theater was clean and pleasant otherwise.

Do you like watching a film without sound? No? Me neither. While watching the wonderful Senna film, the movie moved toward it’s climactic conclusion(i.e Ayrton kicking the bucket) and the sound completely shut down. The worrying thing was that it took them so long to remedy the problem. Shocking. I did receive a voucher to return, but as I watched the film on it’s last night being shown in London, this would be a little pointless. And no, a Transformers movie will not substitute for such a remarkable movie as Senna.

Location is great because my flat is just a 10 minute walk away. The theater smelled of cleaner and the hallway outside our movie was weirdly hot, which made the smell even stronger. The bathroom was even hotter and smelled so strong of perfume-y cleaner I had to try not to breath the whole time I was in there. The smell is enough of a deterrent that I won’t be back for a while. There are lots of other cinemas I prefer even though they’re a little farther away. Saw The Guard here.

A good, solid place to see a movie. Not amazingly comfortable or unforgettable facilities, but they definitely get the job done(aside from bathroom cleaning it seems). The monthly pass, where you pay one price to see unlimited movies, is a steal if you love to go to the movies.

I used to work down the road from this cinema so it was very local to me. This is one of the older style cinemas that have now been replaced by the newer modern ones. I got the feel like I was back in time when I first visited here. The prices are reflective of the city centre but you can get a cheaper ticket before 6pm for 6.60 Monday to Friday otherwise it will cost you over 9 pounds a ticket. There are about 6 or 7 screens and although the cinema is older, the screens themselves have been fully modernised with digital sound. Again, you will not find any stadium seating so do not go when it is busy if you can help it.
