Coyote’s is no more — which is a real shame, as it was fantastic; fabulous food and drink, friendly and lively staff and a great atmosphere. Now it’s been stripped down and relaunched as the Copper Cow, all of its charm has gone out of the window; it feels sterile and unwelcoming with none of the warmth of its predecessor. The only reason for this change was a necessary change of management, and in my opinion it’s killed the place stone dead. If this was a review of Coytote’s there would be five stars given without a doubt, but sadly those days are gone

This establishment has recently been taken over and renamed the Copper Cow. I’ve only drunk in this place once, under it’s former ownership. They used to make fantastic frozen Margheritas! Despite the owner being very friendly, I found the clientiele the very opposite. I am a local person, and this place is for locals but they are downright snooty and stuck their nose up when we sat down. One woman refused to share a massive table she was hoarding to herself. It’s a real shame as there is nowhere for me to call my local watering hole, especially since the horrible gastropub makeover at the Grove Park hotel. Since the refurb, the menu has changed, to more gastropub style. I did notice they do an enticing Eggs Benedict along with the other breakfasts, but due to my previous experience with the other locals who still haunt this place, I won’t be returning.

For years this has been the nearest place for most folk in Grove Park to get a drink. So although a fairly modest corner plot, this family-friendly tex-mex diner gets pretty crowded. Benefitting from a generous pavement area, Coyote has a fair few outside tables which helps. Weekends and early evenings are very family oriented, and the crowd thins out towards the end of the night. Food is OK(quality and range have both shrunk over the years) but you can get a reasonable burger, chicken wings or the like. Frozen margueritaas are a specialty too.
