Great place to hang out with little kids(if you can keep them from the ipen goldfish bassin, which is beautiful). Food okay, staff friendly. Only caveat: Their coffees, lattes etc are lousy.

Decent service & a good range of dishes on offer. The full cooked breakfast was filling and the homemade bubble and squeak addition was tasty. The rearwards view from the upstairs seating area is though a total tip and the place would benefit greatly from having that dealt with asap.

Not an antique shop at all. Sort of a strange misnomer. But it’s a cute gifts/homewares shop with some unique and some standard finds. A great little record section too, for those vinyl lovers. A fun find!

First place I went to when I visited London. In fact, the English breakfast here was my first as well, and the measure with which I judged all the rest. And you know what? It was a good place to start. It was the best English breakfast I’ve had in all my weeks in England. Particularly the sausage… nothing has even come close to as good as it here. Next time I’m in England, I may have to come back.

My favorite café in the world! Great salads and coffee. The décor is über cute and plenty of outside seating for kids and mums. I wish we had a place Like this in Portland

There are no crocodiles in here, there are no antiques in here and there are certainly no crocodile antiques in here. So the name leaves me slightly puzzled. The shop itself, however, is very cute. Very twee. Very Muswell Hill, daaaahling! Outside is a whole array of colourful, eye-catching goodies — fun and funky doormats, brollys, wicker storage baskets, greetings cards — a display such as this, of stuff I don’t really need, is guaranteed to lure me into a shop! Once inside there’s a little fish pond(with real fish in it!!) and LOADS more knick-knacks ranging from kids stuff — bouncy balls, pencil sharpeners, games, bibs with humorous slogans — and adult stuff — candles, mugs, incense, scarves, yet more greetings cards. Out the back is a little café. I haven’t been in but there always seems to be someone going in or coming out at any time of the day… probably owing most of its earnings to the yummy mummies and aspiring actors of Muswell Hill. I do love the smell of coffee wafting through the shop! As cute as this shop is I have to mark it down on price. Everything in here is far too expensive for what it is and they slap the price tags on because of the location. Mussy Hill used to have a name for itself and it seems the label lingers however, it’s not in my opinion what it used to be and the fact most people I know wouldn’t touch the place with a barge pole at night due to the rough bars in the area speaks volumes. Get off your high horse Muswell Hill-billys!

This little café tucked away from the main high street has the potential to be a fantastic place with fairy lights lining the path with which you enter it and a large covered outdoor area that looks beautiful. However my first visit here was quite disappointing and it wasn’t even very busy for a Saturday. The staff got my order wrong, adding beans when I didn’t ask for them, but in their defense they were more than happy to refund the difference and bring out the correct meal. Where it falls down is the table service, delivering food before we’ve even had our drinks and once the drinks had arrived it was a matter of minutes before our ‘hot’ chocolates were cold. The hot chocolates were advertised on the menu as coming with marshmellows, so who could resist ordering one, only to receive it without them and no apology as to why they weren’t there. False advertising I say. The food filled a hole and we drank our luke warm chocolates quickly, then exited. It’ll take a lot to go there again unfortunately. I wish you all the best of you try it out.

Crocodile Antiques is not actually an antique shop. Instead it’s a bits and bobs shop filled with small toys, gadgets, little statues and a café. For instance, you can get musical note post earrings, a squirting fish and an inflatable mini frog that jumps. This store is good for children and good for adults not crazy on kids(definitely me). There are Belgian chocolates and 50’s retro mugs, goldfish wellies and wooden friends for your mantle. Take a good look around Crocodile Antiques. you don’t want to miss anything, especially not the soaps!
