Have you heard about a Gelato World Tour? — Fittingly for the Olympics, Gelato Mio offers 27 flavours from different cities all over the world. I love this concept and I can only hope, they will continue having the winning flavours on offer even after London 2012. As for the shop itself — personally, I find the interior a little bit too generic, which probably comes from the fact that they are a local chain and want to keep the brand concept alive. The ice-cream/gelato, on the other hand, is less bland and we’ve come here several times(after a meal or on a rare sunny London day) to sweeten & brighten up our day. The staff here is very friendly and they let you taste as much as you want to…

What kind of cruel friend takes a lactose intolerant person to a gelateri for a coffee? Mine it seems… So as you may of gathered I didn’t come here for the ice cream… the sweet, creamy swirly, delicious ice cream. My friend and I were out wandering in Muswell Hill and fancied a coffee so we popped in here. It was particularly cruel of her as our server let us know we could try any ice cream before buying the flavours we wanted. My friend had a cone with cherry ice cream… I had a chocolate cake. Obviously my grumping is not intended as a slight upon Gelato Mio, the place is lovely and my tea and cake were delicious. I just wish I could have tried the ice cream. CRUELCRUELFRIEND! It was pouring with rain outside and the parlor was busy the entire time we were there. I think that speaks volumes of the quality of ice cream here if people come to eat it even when it isnt hot or sunny.

Great Italian style ice cream. Luckily we are only here temporarily or my husband would need a second mortgage. They also sell the Italian breakfast biscuits. Only gave it four stars because it’s quite pricey. The staff are either endearingly cheeky or a bit seedy.
