We went here on our first visit to Westfield(and our last… never going back… but thats a different review) I had looked online at the Westfield Shopping Center and saw this restaurant and after looking at the menu thought it looked good and there would be something for everyone, my mum, dad, sister and fiancé(who is a very fussy eater) On arrival we had to wait a while for menus, even after being seated, and then about 15 minutes for them to take our order. Some of the items on their online menu wern’t on the menu instore which was disappointing. I went for the Farafel burger with chips, my fiancé went for a burger with chip and asked for the burger to be plain, I added saying ‘like as in no salad etc’ and the waiter wrote ‘no salad in burger’. My mum and dad went for the Meze feast, and my sister went for a cheese burger. We then had to wait at least 30 minutes for our food, which was really poor, no ‘sorry for the wait’ or anything. When the meal arrived, there was salad in the burger my fiancé had asked for, and it was brought to us by the waiter who took the order! My fiancé had to scrap it all out of the burger. The chips were HUGE and enough for about 3 people(we ordered 3 for 3 people… and wern’t advised of this) Meze was awful, couscous wasn’t like the normal couscous you get, it was huge grains of it and didn’t taste like couscous. Other dishes were very strange(And we’ve been to cyprus, greece, crete etc) and not labelled or advised what they were. Burgers were nice though, the farafel burger was amazing, making that myself soon! Overall, ok for burgers… as long as you want salad, but service and meze were awful! Good thing is that I’ll take the idea to make farafel burgers back with me and try it myself, but really don’t think there was anything else apart from burgers that would interest us

Del Aziz is a chain of restaurants that is different, their theme as they say(and try to be) is a mediterranean one. although being mainly themed as north african-middle eastern restuarant, especially that they include dishes from the native of the owner Iran which clearly isn’t on the mideterenean. As a restaurant they sell food, either to eat in to take away(some sandwiches are available) but they also sell items like mugs, glasses, kettles, sauces and many other things, they also serve a collection of cakes that you might have in the restaurant or to take away. The restaurant is very nice, the service is good, and the selection is nice as well, their main problem is in the food itself, the taste of it is just lacking and needs some improvements to live up to such a restaurant.

This mediterranean restaurant is one on the strip of restaurants on the ‘Southern Terrace’ in Westfield. The other Del’Aziz I am familiar with in in Swiss Cottage leisure centre so this one is instantly more classy as it doesn’t overlook a public swimming pool and smell of chlorine. Here is my top tip: get takeaway sandwiches. The mark up on price to eat in is silly, especially as you don’t get anything extra. They are delicious though. To eat in, it is not great value. The food is very good though, we had a lovely mixed mezze to start and followed with a lamb shank(beautifully cooked, melted off the bone) and I had a burger(ok). With a bottle of wine and service it came to £50. The patisserie section is mouth-watering to look at. The meringues are about the size of your head, and the pain au raisins as wide as a plate. Again, take away is cheaper and much better value. £1.50 for take away tea/coffee, any size, any time is a good deal.
