Perfect location but was not happy with my food. Veggie options apart from starters were not interesting at all. Something they should work on

Dim T is primarily a Thai restaurant that poses as a «dim sum» restaurant near the Tower of London. LOCATION It couldn’t be any better. Just a few minutes walk from the Tower Bridge station, this restaurant sits on the edge of the river and has a marvelous view of the City Hall and the Tower Bridge. The scenery from inside the restaurant next to the window or outdoor on the patio is one of the best in London. ATMOSPHERE Do not be fooled. Dim T isn’t what you would expect if you’re looking for the traditional dim sum experience where they push around carts of small plates that you point at and tally up on your card. Instead, Dim T is primarily a thai restaurant that also serves some dim sum dumplings that you can order off the menu. Once you get over that little nuance, the décor is really clean and modern for a Thai restaurant. FOOD Whenever I go to a Thai restaurant, I like to order green curry, so I that’s what I got! Unfortunately, their curry doesn’t come with rice(boo), so I ordered a side bowl of brown rice. The texture was a bit grainier and thicker than I what I’m used to, but the flavor was all there and was pretty good. My companions ordered the crispy beef which is think and hard pieces of beef that ‘s stir fried in a thai chili sauce with onions, bell peppers and carrots. The flavor was pretty good but the beef left something to be desired. The spicy shrimp dim sum looked pretty tasty and was a bit more like what I expected to see at a dim sum restaurant. SERVICE It might just be a London thing, but some of the servers here also didn’t speak very comprehensible English. I think they may have been from Eastern Europe and had a thick accent that made me resort to just pointing at the menu for what I wanted. OCCASION I think Dim T is a nice, casual, not too fancy place to take friends for a nice view of the city. It wouldn’t necessarily be the best date spot because the food is just okay.

Good food and a beautiful view of the London Bridge. The view on the second level is even better but it was not open when we went– possibly because it was a Monday. Overall, good food. The raspberry ginger drink is delish too!

Not really a fan of the menu as it hasn’t got a variety. However food came out surprisingly fast and what I ordered tasted ok.

Really good selection(almost too much to choose from) and great quality dim sum. Can pre book and would be wise to if you are going at lunch time as the offices easily fill both floors most days

I love Dim Sum. I love Dim T. I used to go to the Winchester one all the time when I was in Southampton and I hadn’t realised it was a chain. I was very excited to find one here too! I’ve only ever eaten the dim sum here, but I love it! delightful little packages full of fresh flavours. I also had the Asian Coleslaw as well this time which was very fresh and little bit sour; fabulous to have something without lashings of mayonnaise! We went around 6pm as well, so there was a happy hour for the beers and cocktails. The cocktails were a little sweet for me, and they were very fruit based. They weren’t bad, I just like a more nuanced cocktail. The view is exquisite as well, you get a perfect spread of Tower Bridge through the windows upstairs. The only thing that I’m surprised about this time was the service. It was shot. When we arrived at 6.15 for our reservation we were the first ones to be seated upstairs as they had only just opened it. Therefore, because we were the only people up there, I can’t explain why it took so long to get served?! It just makes no sense. There were a tonne of waiting staff up there, they all *looked* busy but I’m not sure how because there was no one to wait on up there apart from us. They took their sweet time getting to us to take our order and even longer to bring it over. Then even longer still when we wanted to pay our bill. Such a shame as I rarely ever relegate a place to the three star slot, but them’s the breaks, Dim T.

The great advantage of this location is the beautiful view on Tower Bridge. For this reason I’m giving it an extra star. The food wasn’t special but enjoyable. We shared some veggie dumplings which were ok. I then had the Superfood Stir-fry and my friend ordered the Sweet Coconut which I finished for her and liked a little better than my own dish. They also have a fine selection of Asian teas which they serve in cute pots. Go there for a chilled atmosphere, some good tea, and simple Asian fusion cuisine.

If you get the right spot near a window upstairs you will have an amazing view if Tower Bridge(For non Londoners this is the fancy bridge they used to out peoples heads in after execution, the plain looking bridge on the other side of the restaurant that is not visible is London Bridge. The restaurant is in a fancy plaza between them on the south side of the Thames River across the Tower of London, the old fort/prison). The restaurant is modern high end looking. Thats where anything good really ends. The menu is Asian fusion and interesting, but the food quality is barely average if not below. We had two people ask for out orders after a waiter took out drink order so we were confused, they said it doesn’t matter. These were not dedicated servers, they seemed to be all over. One of out orders were late and not in the order we asked with soup first. Expectations are higher for Asian food having lived in LA and Chicago, backpacked in Asia and numerous trips to Asia for business and vacation, but honestly just average at best. Would I recommend eating here on vacation it a night out if I lived in London? Maybe. The view is great IF you sit upstairs near the window away from the pole. The environment is great. If focused in ambience yes. But there are restaurants all over this area. Side Note Unfortunately while we ate this meal a 23 year old man fell to his death from a 10 story balcony of an office building. We later found out Scotland Yard did not believe it was foul play but police and ambulances were all over. We could not see the incident but people were stopped in their tracks watching and we saw them but didn’t know why. When we left we saw a body with a blanket over it. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Dim T London Bridge has a lot going for it– delicious food and drinks, great service and THEVIEW! Number on go to place when friends are visiting London. Really nice now in the warmer weather with the outside seating. Last night’s dinner was fantastic with all 5 of us delighted with our meals.

The best part about this place is the beautiful view of Tower Bridge and City Hall. It’s not packed, which is a nice thing because you can actually hear what your dinner date is saying. Service is so-so, they’re not the most attentive people in the world, but the food is great and the view outstanding.

I went to the Dim T in Victoria years ago and really enjoyed it. I met a friend here for an after work meal and it was just as good. I had the ginger tea with honey, a generous serving of 3 chicken, cashew nuts and coriander steamed dim sum and a sweet coconut with tofu main dish. The main was not like the kind of thing I normally order — I usually stick with safe options or something recommended to me — but it was absolutely delicious and a new favourite. I really enjoyed the dim sum too. My friend had the clay pot chicken and said it was very good. The service was really good and I was full after the meal so decided not to have dessert. Our waiter filled up our teapots and we had a nice long chat. The best part? After eating so much, we spent £17 each with tip. About half as much as I expected!

I’ve visited this restaurant more than 5 times and have never had a bad experience. The service is excellent and the food is delicious with big portions. I’m a fan of dumplings so it always makes a great starter. The view is unbelievable right next to tower bridge; especially stunning at night. I recommend asking for a seat upstairs by the window for the best view, its worth waiting for. It’s particularly lovely in summer as The Scoop have free shows on in the evenings. Planning my next trip!

Not sure how this place gets so many low ratings below. I’ve decided not to read them because they might taint my opinion. First off: the view! Oh my god is it good, straight out over the river with an unbroken line of sight to both the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. You need to ask to sit upstairs if at all possible, even though it was closed when we arrived the staff helpfully let us wait with a cocktail until we could go up. I think the prices are reasonable for the location, it certainly is economically closer to its neighbour Strada than the mortgage requiring Gaucho on the other side. Think about a fiver for dim sum and starters and about a tenner for a main. The food was tasty without blowing me away, I really enjoyed the spicy edamame and you can’t go wrong with a steamed pork bun. Also the menu is varied enough to pull me back to try other things. The service was friendly and attentive and overall I don’t really have a bad word to say, definitely will be coming back.

I previously had a very bad visit to this dim t(gloopy pad thai being the main offender) but I went back on Sunday and I’m pleased to say things were considerably improved! For a starter friends and I shared the sesame prawn toast, chicken gyoza and prawn crackers. These were all very tasty, well presented and great to share. For my main I had the curry udon noodles with prawns. The prawns were beautiful and the red curry sauce was delicious. Huge portion too. To top it off my lychee iced tea was packed with lychee flavour and so refreshing on the hot day! Really loved the food this time(perhaps better menu choices but everything was fresh and authentic). Unfortunately the service let it down by one star, I pretty much had to tackle a waiter to get his attention to ask for the bill!

Hubby and I were lazy and debating on either Strada or Dim T and given we hadnt been here yet and I was getting the hunkering for an asian invasion, I decided to go with this place. It was bizarre to me that at 8:30 on a Wednesday that this place was PACKED, but its all good. We had a couple drinks while we waited… wine was ok but the selection could be better. Hubs had the mandarin mojito which actuallly was pretty good. We were seated with an awesome view of Tower Bridge and once we figured out who our waitress was, it was all good. We ordered the spicy chicken dim sum(really good!) and edamame, both decent. I ordered the steamed salmon with miso and came with a «chinese» coleslaw, which I find super funny, but whatevs back to the review. The salmon was a nice big isze and i really liked how the coleslaw complemented the dish. I was not too hungry so kept it light without rice. My dining companion aka chinese food snob ordered the chicken clayot and jasmine rice. He was not super pleased with it but I had a bite and it seemed pretty good. That said, we needed a TON of hot sauce, which I might attribute to being brown and loving spice so keep that in mind if you do go that spice is lacking. All in all, a decent meal… not something for me to write home about but healthy options and an amazing view.

First of all, the views are stunning. Tower Bridge in full splendour, we even saw it opening to let pass a few ships, which was great. The food was ok, big portions in the mains and the price is quite good quality related. Our only problem was the service. Three waitresses that came several times asking the same questions their colleagues have asked already, really slow service(we had to wait for the drinks and starters for a long time) and one of them was even looking at her watch pretending to say it was taking too long to decide. We were in the upper floor and three members of staff were not enough.

This is a really hit or miss kind of place. When you hit, it’s great. When you miss, it’s pretty disappointing. The dim sum, anything with duck, and most of the fish on the menu are almost guaranteed. Stray from that list at your own risk. You may find a diamond or just a lump of coal. Working nearby, my coworkers and I went here constantly, and most of us only had 1 or 2 things we would ever order from the menu, and if someone ever strayed from their«regular» without the recommendation of a friend, they were usually left with a bowl of something they didn’t want to finish eating. Make sure to make reservations if you’re going during the week, and if it’s during the day, dress nicely. Any time there is a dress-down day at work and people go there, the already-slow service takes 3 times as long. I once waited for 50 minutes just to GET my food(not counting waiting for the waitress to take the order, or bring us our bill, let alone eating). But I love those crispy duck pancakes, so I was back the next week, suited and booted, in and out in an hour.

Here’s where the breakdown of two stars come from: 1 Star for the view, which cannot be ignored(literally.) An amazing view of the Tower Bridge and when it’s lit up at night, just wow! Sit near a window(or outside like we did if it’s warm enough and enjoy it.) 1 Star for the food, which was cheap and plentiful. Not every dish was amazing, but the serving portions were large. The steamed pork dumplings were delicious. The noodles in the stir-fry were a bit rubbery though and the spicy beef Dim Sum was almost too bland(and not really spicy at all). Still, the food was OK and the menu is large so there’s sure to be something that appeals to everyone. But MINUS3STARS for the unbelievably bad service and experience. I made a reservation for 7 and we were seated immediately. It was insanely hot inside though so I asked if we could sit out on the deck since it was a nice night. They placed us there. Since it was a nice night, everyone was on the patio so it was filled. They had, and I kid you not, ONEWAITER for the entire patio. If that wasn’t enough, he was slow moving and slow talking. That would have been bad enough but he never came to our table. Ever. I had to finally walk up to him and ask him for menus. Then again to place an order. Then finally again to get our check. What! Seriously! The food was slow to come out and I’ve already commented on it. Some good, some bad. Then, the heat! The bathrooms were on the second floor and if I thought it was hot on the first, then it was literally hell on the second. So damn hot people were rapidly fanning themselves with their menus and unbuttoning buttons. I can’t believe any of them stayed up there, it was torture just to walk through. Finally, our check was wrong, so I had to ask him again to do it. What was this! For such an amazing spot, it had the worst service I’ve ever had in London. And seriously, Dim T, what was with the heat! Not cool guys, not cool.
