I’d like to give 3 ½ stars, but… this was an interesting Asian chain restaurants close to the Victoria station. We thoroughly enjoyed our dumplings as starters and I had the special salad for the night. All our food dishes were great. Service was a bit slow and off, but nothing out of the ordinary or that held us up. The outside patio area is wonderful and great for people watching.

I won’t be returning to this eatery. Food was either tasteless or too salty. This place is confused as to what Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese cuisine really is. Staff was friendly but not fully versed on knowing the menu items.

Great for taking our three year old. The bento box for her was great. We enjoyed the meal as well. Dim Sum was great. Pad Thai was ok not great.

This is the Victoria branch of this dim sum chain, which serves takes on Chinese and Japanese food. The venue is conveniently close to the railway station, and spacious, and staff are generally pretty friendly. The food quality is OK, but not outstanding, but then prices are very reasonable, so you get what you pay for. I like the spicy gyoza dumplings as a starter, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. A meal for 3 with a bottle of house wine came to £25 a head, which is not bad for this area. I like it as a venue to meet people, as it doesn’t seem to get too noisy — a bit of a relief in this part of London. I’d give it three and half stars if I could, as I do there regularly, but it is not quite a four!

Less than 5 minutes walking distance from Victoria Station and our summer flat is dim t. We were itching to try some Indian food in London, but had to opt for Chinese food because of our hungriness and the steady rain. My friend tried the Gyoza noodle soup, and I tried the Tom Yum noodle soup which is a rice noodle with bok choi(love bok choi!), bean sprouts, green beans, and red peppers in a hot/sour lemon grass broth. I’ve always wanted to try Tom Yum, so I was excited. It was great; at first. Then spoonful after spoonful it started to get hard to eat. It was just so sour(and I like sour) and all the elements in the soup were inharmonious. It’s like in Matila when Brucey Bogtrotter has to eat that 10 lb. chocolate cake. Maybe it’s not the best comparison. Yes, it’s good at first, but then you have to eat it ALL. It would have been better served in a small bowl, and then I could have had dim sum with it. Okay, so being a dim sum restaurant, we probably should have gotten dim sum, but the rainy weather demanded a hot, steamy bowl of something. The restaurant itself is nice; dark and decorated with sake bottles in shelves. There weren’t many patrons. maybe 11 in a capacity to fit 40+? Service was like my soup; at the end for splitting the check, they seemed to have a hard time doing it(surely Londoners split checks) but they were nice about it. :) This review is a bit long winded, but I wanted to really explain my 2 star rating. Bottom line is, it wasn’t memorable and I would probably not try this place a second time.

Mediocre service, terrible dim sum. Microwave food, with faux classy interior. Normally I’d write a more wordy review, perhaps I’d go into detail as to why the food is terrible, provide some justification; this place doesn’t even deserve it. Avoid.

I thought the Dim Sum was fine and the modern hip look was fine too. On price, well everything is high in London.

My friend and i felt like having some Chinese food after watching Barcelona defeat MU in the Champions league final yesterday. We chose the Dim T over another restaurant called Kym’s next door because i had been to Kym’s and had thought that it was very average. We did not have very high expectations from Dim T but were pleasantly surprised. First the menu. It contained not only Chinese but also a variety of other east Asian dishes, including Japanese and Malaysian fares. So we had a much wider choice than what we had anticipated. The food was good. We started with a portion of duck spring roll which was ok. For the main course my friend ordered a plate of Japanese fried rice with chicken while i asked for some Singapore fried noodles. The fried rice was the best dish of the meal. It was less sticky than the traditional Japanese rice and quite spicy. There was a lot of flavour. The noodles were thin, which makes me think they were made from eggs. It was slightly bland but came with chicken, shrimp, egg and quite a lot of vegetables, which made the overall package quite attractive. We also had some crispy shredded beef. It was served with a sweet sauce. I am generally averse to having«sweet«meat dishes, but this one was an exception. Both of us enjoyed the preparation. The quantity of food in the 3 main course dishes were very high … at ~£8 per plate they were a steal. Two plates should easily suffice for a group of 3. Overall our bill came to be about £17 per person which was quite reasonable. The restaurant was almost empty when we came in. However in spite of that the service level was slightly poorer than what we would have liked. The delays would have been understandable had it been a busy evening, but that was not the case. The place was quite nicely decorated and i wasn’t in a hurry so i didn’t mind much yesterday … but on other occasions i would. I think that Dim T would surely be more preferable for cheap Chinese and East Asian food to me than the bunch of below-average restaurants and takeaway noodle stalls that i have been to in Soho. They have got themselves a couple of regular customers now :)

Is it the best dim sum in London? Absolutely not. Is it the best dim T in London? Try again. But… Here’s what I like about this place. Strategically nestled in pimlico near Victoria this dim t is super vegetarian friendly. My wife, who is vegan was able to order 4 baskets of veggie dim sum, and some miso soup. She could have ordered a helluva lot more from the menu, but we were stuffed. We will come back, as veggie dim sum is a rare treat!

This place has really gone down hill. After giving our drinks order we waited 15 mins and eventually got water(but not our wine), no one offered to take our order, they were too busy cleaning tables to serve. We left a few minutes after the water arrived, luckily there are plenty of great restaurants a few minutes walk away.

I see this chain of places everywhere so I thought i’d give it a whirl for lunch. At the time, this being my 2nd day here I thought it was good food and for cheap. Boy was I wrong. After eating around the city I came to quickly realize that the food was mediocre and a bit on the expensive side. If you’re looking for noodles, either ask the locals or go into a hole in the wall for some noodles. My friend tried the Pad thai and ate every bit of it. I had the sweet coconut noodles and it was tasty but a bit al dente for me and the coconut was the wrong texture to put with noodles.

Modern pan Asian restaurant chain. As long as you are not expecting authenticity, I believe you will have an enjoyable meal here. Went mid-afternoon so it was quiet, but service was attentive and food arrived in a timely fashion. Starters/dim sum were OK(not great) and noodles were flavourful.

Dim T felt like the Red Robin of dim sum. It’s good for what it is – safe dim sum standards, served up among way too much«imported atmosphere» such as ominous red lighting contrasted against stark black tables, mixed in with your abundant artifacts of stereotypical Asian décor. Much like Red Robin, I am concerned that more time and energy is spent on developing the experience rather than spent on perfecting recipes, but what you do get is standard, cookie cutter, plastic menu food served up with a smile and some flare. While I’m not anticipating any greatness coming out of a Dim T anytime soon, I’m also not expecting anything offensive. Sometimes standard is a-ok with me.

What I liked most about this dim sum restaurant is that it is more affordable, yet still retains a very swish feeling as the interiors are stunningly modern. I haven’t been to here since it first opened last year, but every time I walk past I fantasize about the yummy dumplings they served us. Now they have a lovely outdoor seating area too so I’m dying to spend a lazy, sunny afternoon there.

A new concept in modern Asian dining claims the flash animated website. The 21st century consumer is all about modern themes and concepts, everybody boasts they have one but does a new concept equal a brave new taste sensation ie. good food, well not necessarily! Fun: Construct your own dish at the Noodle Bar with your choice of noodles, toppings and sauces — and enjoy! Healthy: A great choice of steamed dishes and tasty oriental salads for the health conscious. Traditional: Can’t get enough of those old favourites like Crispy Duck or Thai Green Curry? Look no further — we have it all. Theatre: Watch our expert chefs preparing and steaming your dim sum! True the ornately wrapped pork, beef and chicken dim sum are enough to make your mouth water, but the minty lemonade certainly wasn’t fresh and the noodle broth left me feeling bland and bloated. New concept in dining or re-inventing the wheel?

I’ve been here a couple of times and I can’t really fault it. It’s not out of this world, but it’s a nice, clean restaurant serving decent food, at reasonable prices and with a reasonable amount of atmosphere(for a chain). We were seated immediately — there’s plenty of space, and lots of outdoors seating space for when it’s warm enough outside. The service was fine and the food was served pretty quickly. What I liked was that the waiting staff left you in peace to enjoy your food rather than constantly trying to get you to buy more drinks and shoving a dessert menu down your throat! They have a few good vegetarian options too.

I’ve never written a bad review before, but this restaurant totally changed that. It has a great location, near Victoria station, and I arrived at around 6pm, when it was fairly quiet still. Even so, the service was incredibly slow and often blatantly unintentive. The food(we ordered dim sum) was very slow, often falling apart upon touching, and disappointing, and my friend and I both regretted spending an evening there and have complainted to the restaurant itself. It also seemed overpriced and quite small portions compared to more authentic Chinese restaurants and their chicken satay was very small for the price. I’ve heard good things about the other branches and the décor was nice, but it has definitely stopped me from visiting another Dim T.
