Great boutique on Upper Street. They used to have a separate men’s store, but instead decide to consolidate both mens and women’s clothing in this store. Men’s is now on the 1st floor. Nice selection of designer brands(APC, Nudie Jeans etc). I was there during sales time and most items seemed over 50% off… so lot’s of great values to be had. I bought a much needed pair of gloves and hat here. Only downside was the sale limited the sizes to XL and XS, neither of which fit me! If you’re looking for some designer threads in Islington, this might be your best bet.

Diverse for men used to be a shop all by itself down the road next to Ottolenghi(now occupied by Albam). The clothes came from a variety of designers such as Paul Smith, APC, Acne, Nudie Jeans and more. It used to spread all these clothes out over two levels with man-bags and many more accessories. Now it is here. On the 1st floor of the women’s shop. And it doesn’t even have it’s own floor, there are some women’s clothes up here too. The range of clothing is nowhere near what it once was, you can still get all the aforementioned labels here but may have a choice of 3 or four items crammed onto their 3 rails which seems pretty pathetic compared to what they had before. Still, it’s worth a browse during sales time.

A high end designer store, with a great collection but not as large as some of the shops on the high street. Its worthwhile to look out for the sales, which are still well over my budget! Although window shopping is a lot of fun as the clothes are all lovely, I have yet to buy anything from here. Its nice to have a large collection in a smaller store on Upper Street though. Its a good spot to pick out a small present for a girlfriend. I think in these credit crunching time, few of us might shop at Diverse, so its possible the prices might come down significantly! Look out for the January sales!

Part of the Diverse empire that spans Upper Street via various different franchises, the womenswear branch is the largest outlet. Stocking increasingly high end designers, where once a few years ago I could afford the(very) occasional treat from here, now I find it prohibitively expensive. I do like to have a browse for inspiration though and a look at the sale. They stock a lot of Chloe, Marc by Marc Jacobs and the jewellery and accessories are pretty good. The window displays are also cool and well styled.

Spread over two floors, Diverse has a great selection of designer clothing — focus is on Marc by Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Chloe, Emma Cook and a few other big names. They have a smattering of other designers, but I would hesitate to describe the offerings as «diverse»… there is very little in the way of emerging talent and most labels are easily recognizable to those with a bit of fashion knowledge. The layout and atmosphere of the store is open and comfortable — it’s refreshing to not feel cramped when perusing the rails.

Every time a new season hits the stores –I head to diverse to see the selection. To be honest, I have never bough anything from the shop, it is so way over my budget. But for me it is about seeing the current trends, some designer clothes in relaxed atmosphere(we all know those boutiques where the sales assistant follows your every move) and to get inspiration. The shop is creative and I like it that they mix so effortlessly such a varied variety of different labels.

Very relaxed boutique with friendly, helpful staff, who will actually tell you if something doesn’t look right-which is a rareity! There’s a great selection of labels from Jacobs to Chloe to Hussein Chalayan, with more basic wardrobe essentials to be had in this great store on Upper Street. The only dowside i could quote would be the slightly stark lighting.
