Turned in my dissertation and was looking for a quick celebratory lunch. Draft House was empty but you generally cant go wrong with beer and burgers. The interior is actually quite small, had maybe 6 tables total? The bar definitely has a pretty good selection of beer and ciders on tap as well as an array of bottled goods, plus non-alcoholic drinks such as lemonade. They have a 3 for 9 deal where you can try their daily recommendations of APIs, larger, etc. The staff was super friendly. She made recommendations to my American friend who has never had any British pub food or UK beer, though I cant say he liked the pork crackling much — perhaps because we werent watching a game. I was actually impressed by the burgers. You can taste every ingredient and Im a giant fan of egg on a honey bun! The cajun spiced fries however lacked the spice. Im now keen on checking out their other locations as well.

Ah the Draft House, I am a fan. This drinking establishment is all about the beverages. They carry a wide selection of not-standard beers, and know about them too. On the occasions I’ve been, the barstaff were only too happy to let me sample the new and interesting things on offer, trying to find the right brew to match my mood. And don’t forget, they have the daily cask which sells for cheap!

I give this Craft Beer four beards and a flat cap, nice little bar with a good selection of different beers, ales and lagers. What a wondrous age we live in with this resurgence in quality booze.

I think this place is great not in spite of, but in part because of, its size and inevitably cramped nature. Pub coziness! Basically: there is not a lot of room to sit inside. Thankfully, this location of Draft House(there are several around London) is on a CORNER, meaning that there are two sides of the pub to lean up against(or, if you’re strategic, benches to sit on). The beer here is special; there’s a great selection(bottle and tap), from Icelandic white beer to options flowing direct from the great state of California(I had 2. I remember the name of neither, though would recommend them both!). The staff is FANTASTIC. Love, love, love them, and would give them alone 5 stars. Even when the pub is heaving with people post-work they don’t leave you waiting long, they not just let you but *offer* to have you try different options before committing, and make lovely small talk along the way. If you’re standing outside they come around regularly to collect empty glasses. Basically: I think they’re tops. Didn’t try any food, but they do have foot long pieces of pork crackling behind the bar. SO, YOUKNOW. Unilocal note: locations both north and south of the Thames. Yeah!

Absolutely tiny pub but I had one of the greatest nights there in a while. Went with a female friend to try the beers after being at uni in the area. Ended up making friends with the group of guys next to us and things got a wee bit rowdy, but in the best way possible. The atmosphere is like a fun local corner pub but lots of people always there when I go. It’s my favourite over by Charlotte/Goodge Street.

Nice spot, really helpful staff, good beer selection(on bottle) but very expensive — £6 for a pint of Brewdog 5AM Saint… Could do with more keg/cask stuff to keep up with the competition, but for the area it has by far the best selection. Not really a patch on Craft Beer Co or The Stormbird, but these are not so central. It delivers, but if you’re a beer fan and don’t mind going further afield for the real gems, try elsewhere.

One of many pubs in the Charlotte St area — this place is super busy with the after-work crowd and on nice evenings everyone will be spilling out onto the street. Just as well, as it’s not a huge place! We came by quite late, about 11pm and snagged the last table. Loud music, lots of chat and decent drinks on tap. The only thing detracted from that were the bar staff who insisted on being centre of attention and shouting a lot. Still, if you like a different beer/ale — this is a good place to come.

Yeah, they serve like 5 million different types of beer. They also have pretty cute bar guys. And fantabulous expertly carved pumpkins. But that is it. Meh. Blah, Snooze.

I’m a big fan of this Draft House, as well as the ones at Tower Bridge and Clapham(don’t love the Battersea location). Great beers served by really passionate dudes. Place is on the small side so tends to get really busy, but if you can snag a table its all good. I’m enjoying this trend of pubs serving international beers rather than the normal Stella, Fosters, Carling, etc., none of which are even British beers(Carling is historically Canadian, despite being most popular beer in Britain — how???).

I love stumbling into fantastic things. We were searching for a bar and nothing great was coming up on Unilocal for the area and the time. So we decided to just walk and see what we found. And like a shining beacon of hope in the distance, there was a band new Draft House, just waiting to be drunk at. This one is a little smaller than the others I’ve been too but no less awesome. Tons and tons of beers, both on tap and in bottle, although they did actually end up running out of the lambic on tap that I was enjoying. There are a few tables inside, and we could have snagged one, but it was such a nice night outside that we decided to go out. This Draft House actually has a bench attached along side it’s outside wall so you can just sit against the building. I did this with my friend and we had an excellent night drinking beer. Good staff, good beers, good times.

The Draft House Charlotte is a mini-Draft House, but no less mighty for it. There are probably 5 – 10 beers on tap and another 30 or so in the fridges behind the bar, considerably less than the Draft Houses found elsewhere in London. But given the lacklustre choice of pubs and bars in this area, it doesn’t need to do much more to immediately grab the title of top beer house in the vicinity. There is limited seating inside the small space that Draft House Charlotte occupies, but no matter, because the best place to sit is surely on the benches outside. Here one has a perfect vantage point for people-watching, which on the Thursday evening I was here was a a steady stream of people dressed to impress on their way to flashier parts of town. A very welcome addition to the area.
