Affordable lunch options in the neibourhood. Nice burgers, amazing fresh chips with homemade mayo. Great service too!

Pricey but understandable given the location. We had the fish and chips and they were incredible. Exceptionally good quality. Service is quick and the staff are always friendly. Enzo, the manager, seated us himself and brought us our drinks. He even remembered us even though we hadn’t been in for months!

Great ambience, but a wee tad pricey. Good selection of international beers, including Leffe Blond.

This place was awesome! Had dinner here while in London on business. It was tons of fun, great food, even better desert and the bartender Enzo was awesome!

Pretty pricy, especially the drinks(£9 for pims!) but the food was delicious and the staff was really friendly. My friend and I ordered fish and chips and burgers sliders. Both were extremely hot and fresh when they came out and didn’t take too long. The atmosphere is also great. London is expensive, but if you can get over that, I highly recommend.

I’m so torn! This is such a nice, local pub with a good atmosphere overall. BUT both the service and the food are a massive gamble! Some of the servers are nice but there are a few absolute hags! A tall, thin, eastern European one in particular is just terrible. There was actually a patron changing her baby’s nappy at the table next to us!!! We mentioned something to the aforementioned server who made us out to be the bad guys — shocking! The food is hit or miss — I’ve enjoyed a steak and mushrooms before which was nice but have also had soggy chips and a terrible burger as well! My husband likes the beer so we will be back but I would prefer to go elsewhere.

The duke of York is a great neighborhood pub. The food has always been great, but I do wish there was a constant salad option on the menu. This seems to come and go. Monday night is burger night. Two burgers for 18£. The burgers are very good! However, I’m also a little disappointed in the beer selection. It’s seems mostly standard beers like Guinness and Stella. Nothing too exciting. Lovely waitstaff(although I’ve had the same woman wait on me the last three times) so I can’t vouch for all of them. She was great!

This is a nice, medium sized pub that is somewhat modern and festively decorated. It’s also an island in a neighborhood full of no nightlife… so it benefits from that.

This may be our new local pub, but we will have to share it with hundreds of Cricket fans. The food is good and the waiters are friendly and welcoming. Its a nice clean, bustling London pub in the heart of St Johns Wood. The burgers and chips are great, the skewers and salads too. I would like this to be my «Cheers» where everyone knows my name. Oh yeah I have 2 kids, maybe not so much time in a pub…

St. Johns Strike 2! So, after a piss poor experience at Café Rouge I needed a beer and a small plate to satisfy the rumble in the jungle that was in my stomach. I had been to the Duke once before just for drinks and had a good time commiserating with an Australian bartender. I knew they had bar snacks so I figured it would be just what the Dr. or Duke would order. I had a beer and ordered crispy duck spring rolls. As I was waiting, one of the two Portuguese speaking bartenders must have done the«cup check» at least 4 times within a few minutes(he was tall you couldn’t help but notice dammit), then proceeded to change trash bags and continued serving drinks without washing up. Sorry. If you gotta scratch your bean bags more than 3 times in a span of 5 minutes there’s probably big trouble in little China. You should not be serving drinks, much less food! Muito Obrigado douche bag. Needless to say… exit stage right! If it were not for the Ordinance, St. johns Wood have been an epic strike out this sunny Sunday afternoon. Werd…

This pub is probably one of the few locals in St. John’s Wood, and this is for sure a problem: staff quite rude, high prices and a constant hurry in finishing your drinks when time is close to 11pm. One night at 10.45 pm we were served some beers and after 5 minutes forced to go away, leaving the glasses half full. I would never go there anymore, I suggest you to try some nice pubs close to the canal or close to rossmore road, 10minutes walking from there.

The Duke Of York in St. John’s Wood seems to be a nice random pub. I have been there once so far, but passed by several times. Sometimes the place around the pub looked very crowded. I was there on a Saturday evening and found a place immediately. In general, it was quite noisy in the pub, but then: it’s a pub. That’s how it should be, isn’t it? Some guests are louder than others, some music is playing. so far as usual as any other pub. I ordered a beef burger with extra bacon and extra cheese, and it took ages. I did not mind, but the staff did. They came over to me and explained, that something went wrong when preparing the burger, that never happened before(that always sounds suspicious!) and they even offered my another glass of wine for free. But as I still had some wine left and did not want to drink a lot this night, I didn’t go for it. But I enjoyed the Neblina Merlot I’ve chosen. It’s a nice red wine. When my burger arrived, I realized that it was worth waiting! Normally, I order burgers well-done. For some reason, I guess mainly because of plain stupidity, I ordered this medium-well. And it tasted great! This burger truly was very tasty. The also have different offers on different days, so one day a week they also have special burger offerings. That sounds good. The burger came with really good chips, that were sort of chunky, but not too big. so I was happy with it. As dessert I took a chocolate mousse. It tasted okay, but by far not as good as the burger. But okay. If you’re up for a burger and around St. John’s Wood, this is a good place you for you. The only annoying thing about this pub: the Flash website is just crap. First, Flash websites are very nineties. Second contact form either does not work, or is just stupid. But as long as you’re there for a burger and not for the website, you’re safe. :)

Truth be told. I decided to live in St. John’s Wood after a meal at this restaurant. The waitstaff and clientele are friendly, and the kitchen makes a mean sausage and mash… the Buffalo Mozzarella salad is pretty damn good too. It’s a 21+ bar, which is great. People seem to hold their liquor here without any altercations. My local pub and, hands down, the best in the area.

I popped in here with a mate during a rainy spell at Lord’s the other day. On first glance, this seems an average ‘gastro-pub’ — posh décor, expensive menu, rich people lolling about inside. interesting that i ordered the same as Agi and also enjoyed it. hadn’t read your review, just craving sausages and mash. the only complaint was that the service was slow, but it was slightly redeemed by the fact that the waitstaff acknowledged it was slow and at least warned me.

A very bohemian(gotta love that word) experience. A bar which doubles as a restaurant. The food and drinks is good. I loved the sausage and mash in onion gravy. Nice staff and an overall good experience.

Probably the only pub with a fireplace in St. John’s Wood. The Duke is a cosy pub with good grub and v. interesting characters — some eccentric locals, lots of expats and a mish mash of others come through this place daily.

This used to be my work local and it has improved over the years. It was a traditional boozer but has moved on to serve good food and a good wine selection. Its seen many an eventful night with the hospital staff from both the hospitals in St Johns Wood putting the world to rights. Nice Décor inside with a moroccean theme.
