My friend and I stayed at this hotel as a last minute hotel during our stay in London. We had truly a terrible experience here. We had dinner at the restaurant and felt horribly ill the next morning. The food was mediocre and expensive! The room was right about the bar and was so loud. They close the bar at midnight so we waited to sleep for when they turned off the music. The wifi then stopped working around 10pm so we couldn’t use our phones at all in the room. There was also no phone in the room to call down to ask about the wifi. Then to top it off, there were drunk/loud guys coming to their rooms from the bar at 1am. They were standing in front of our door talking loudly. I opened the door to ask them to talk quietly and one of the guys tried to push in the room!!! It was so scary as I am a young lady and my friend too. It was a terrible experience. Then when we went to complain in the morning, the manager wouldnt be in until 10am and there was no one to tell what had happened! I would never recommend this place to tourists. Such a bad experience and extremely loud.

I visited the place for the first time today. It is a very beautiful and cozy bar. Good selection of drinks as well. Definitely recommend it for an evening drink or hangout. The 3 stars is because of the food. The food was a vague hit or miss. I tried the padron peppers and the risotto. The peppers were quite bad(too oily and no taste, but remember I am Indian). The seafood risotto on the other hand was wonderful. The prawns were very nicely cooked. Since we were a large group so multiple items from both starters and main course were ordered all my friends shared my views that the food was a hit or miss. The fish and chips was too fried to eat but the nachos were wonderful, etc etc.

The New Inn. Sort of a mixed bag here. It’s a very niche place. People will either love or hate it. I came here for Sunday lunch upon a recommendation of «the best roast around». Well, that wasn’t the case. The roast was pretty good however I don’t think it justifies the price tag of £15.50. I had a champagne cocktail(£9.50) that, once again, was ok, yet a little flat, like the champagne was old. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. It was a little bland. They had a jazz band on. I like that. Some people hate jazz. They had two dogs, begging for food, running around, barking at customers’ dogs. I like dogs. Some people hate dogs. Some people are terrified. Try it if you like what they offer, however I wouldn’t say this place is universal in appeal.

Came to this modern pub with a friend for Sunday dinner. They get pretty busy on Sundays, so apparently they had run out of burger buns and we weren’t able to try the burgers here(which are supposed to be amaaazing). Also, the rocket salad was out. So that wasn’t a great start to the dinner. BUT, the food we did get(fish cakes, Caesar salad, pan-fried prawns, padron peppers) was really excellent. High quality ingredients and freshly prepared. I loved the Maldon salt flakes on the peppers, which were just oily enough to remind me of tapas bars in Spain. The only miss was the chicken and chorizo skewers small plate — both the meats were dry and came with a generic Ranch-style sauce. Really not enjoyable. The pub has a great atmosphere though. The owners’ two dogs have their own leather bed in the dining room, and laze around sleepily while you dine. Crowd is friendly and on the young side, and the service is really warm. Our French blonde server gave us a taste of wines before we had a bottle. Wine selection was good too. I would come back for dinner if I was in the area, and would definitely make it earlier so I could try one of their burgers!

Well what can I say, I read the reviews and bought a zoo voucher. I couldn’t wait to try the food. And!!! Well what a let down, the starter was more smoked salmon than o have ever seen anywhere. Wrapped with cheese. However I am a little bit of a connoisseur in this area, and it was very average smoked salmon. Just goes to show that quantity doesn’t really mean too much. Main was sea bass baked. Which was lovely but the salad was off. My friend had the garlic pizza bed, which we made the waiter eat. It coule be used in the nhs as an antimucolant. We just couldn’t swallow it. Amazing dry technology there, they should patent it. Other than that the drinks were ok, the pub itself is lovely and has two dogs walking up and down begging for food. I will be back for beers but maybe the food can go a miss.

After two consecutive great experiences, I am updating my rating and adding a well-earned star for the New Inn. We started out on shaky ground with just a middlin’ first go, but the last two drop ins really made up for this. I am just shy of giving a 5th star, the New Inn is a solid 4.5 for me… Now, on our last two visits the place was very slow, just a few tables full. That may have made a difference. All in all, the food was fantastic. On one visit I tried their seafood special that evening, a sea bass which was perfectly seasoned and finished. On my last visit I tried their flatbread pizza(not to be confused with a true New York style flatbread pizza — the ‘bread’ was more like a flaky pie crust, not pizza dough), and it too was amazing. My wife tried one of the burgers, and this time the burger was perfectly cooked(not over cooked like my first try.) For a small joint, the menu is very robust. A complete burger menu, pizza menu, and a full selection of entrees is guaranteed to please everyone in a group. Unlike many regular neighborhood pubs, the New Inn has a robust cocktail menu which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is some outdoor seating which will be very nice to enjoy this spring. They don’t mind having kids around too much, and there are usually a pair of dogs that hang out in their bed near the bar — so if you aren’t into having dogs beg at your table you might want to pass. In our case, the dogs occupied our daughter as a great distraction.

Delicious food! From fish and chips to burgers to the side salad this food is fabulous! We went here on a Tuesday night and had a quiet dinner(we were the only ones in the pub). It’s on the far end of at John’s wood and this must have been a slow night. Even the music was great. Sung in a style like frank Sinatra but lyrics and music of popular pop artists like Beyoncé. I have to figure out what album this was!

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and I decided to finally go to The New Inn in St. John’s Wood to take a look at their food menu. I was at the pub before one or two times, but never ordered any food. One time I was there to meet some local Twitter folks and the fabulous barman mixed a great little Daiquiri(if I remember correctly) with some quite strong(and rare?) spirit. It tasted great and left a lasting impression, the guys at The New Inn really know their cocktails. I was a bit sad to discover that there was no burger on the Sunday menu. As I never tried a traditional Sunday roast before, I quickly decided to get a chicken roast. It was a wise choice, the chicken roast was very good and looked beautiful on the plate and my wine was fine as well. Now I should probably go for Sunday roasts more often… I was a bit surprised that some live music was on, but it was quite pleasant. Live music always is a nice touch. Unfortunately the waiter forgot about my starter, making the most of it, I simply asked for it after I finished my roast. Another good decision, because the arancini were really delicious! Besides drinks and food, the place seemed to draw in a fair number of locals, giving the pub a nice atmosphere. A rather good-looking local at a neighbouring table somewhat distracted me from my food and wine. But this was a very welcome distraction on a rather dull Sunday and I do not mind that I cannot remember which wine I had. The New Inn is a nice pub and recommended for a Sunday roast. I will definitely come back for food and drinks.

This is tucked away in our neighborhood and I have now been 3 times. Its under new management and the owner is a nice young guy who is committed to give his customers a genuine pub experience. Its a nice atmosphere for lounging, eating and drinking. The last time we were there, there were some great local characters at the bar who gave the place a good vibe. There is a nice area for sitting and the owners dog wanders around like it owns the place. The food is good and I understand there are a few rooms which he has redone. I would say well worth a visit or a Sunday roast.

Good neighborhood pub, decent prices for pints. Really good and creamy IPA on tap, cute Russian-ish bartenders, and trivia nights on Tuesday. There’s also a really good thai restaurant that’s part of the place(sort of). The food is stellar, I recommend the duck green curry. I wouldn’t make this a destination, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth having a bite and a beer.
