«Gary» said he invited my friends and me to one club but gave us the address to a club that was much less popular and less known. At first I thought it was a coincidence we it there, but it was clear he actually worked for a different club that needed business desperately. DONOTTRUSTGARYORTHISCLUB. He took us o this club josh was a literal joke, seriously avoid if u read this and know it’s a scam. Gary and eclipse are unprofessional, unfortunate entities.

I’ve seen there are quite a few reviews about the lacking service, but this is london, hardly known for top notch service! I’ve had quite a few good times at Eclipse, though I used to frequent the Walton Street location, this one has become my preferred. Cocktails are great, albeit not too strong, so I usually switch to wine. I’ve been here until 2 am before, so they don’t lose at midnight, but that review was also years ago(and maybe on a weekday thats not friday, they do… can’t recall). The crowd can really vary(and sometimes get a bit sloppy), but if you’re here with a friend(s), you can have a great night keeping to yourself in the booths. If you live in the neighbourhood, be sure to get the neighbourhood card! Great specials, and they often host fun little events for neighbours as well.

Cocktails were nice but the place is very small. Came here for a friends 21st. Had a booked table as there was quite a few of us, when we arrived they had no knowledge of our booking and put us on a tiny table. Would have been fine(these things happen right) but the waitress was so unbelievably rude! Shooting dirty looks at us, snatching the menu from my friends hand before she had even ordered and at one point poking me in the back when I was in her way apparently. We had been there for 20 minutes at this point. We decided to go somewhere else after one cocktail and will never be returning. Happy birthday to my friend!

I went there on a Saturday with a friend who knew someone inside. The place was packed with people when we arrived around midnight. We joined the friend’s table, but there was no room to stand or move. We didn’t get to stay that late since something happened either inside or just outside the club and it closed at 1am that night. But then the drinks we ordered an hour ago never came and the waitress was busy pushing people aside to get through to take photos with VIP(?) tables. I can’t help comparing the service with more spacious clubs I used to go to in LA. I’m disappointed by Eclipse.

Disclaimer: Written by someone from NYC after one visit. I’ve been here for 10 days and I still can’t get used to everything closing at midnight. I know it just means I should move my schedule of evening plans up to begin closer to 7 pm and that ultimately it likely means I’ll get more sleep, but it’s still befuddles me to be home by 1 am. Was with a female friend and we left one bar when it closed. We found our way to another but there was a £20 per person cover. No thank you. My friend, fairly recent ex-Pat, lead the way to Eclipse. Wait — something is open at this hour??? Woo hoo!!! The upstairs bar had a decent crowd — that hour in the evening(morning) where many customers were couples canoodling. We did try to go downstairs and were told £20 cover per person. Again — no thank you(one star off). But, this being our last option, we stayed for a drink. Sorry but I don’t know the price because after we ordered, a nice(and sloshed) American picked up the two watermelon drinks and also gave us little shooters of what I thought was watermelon purée, I later learned are crackbaby shots. Followed that up with a beer — all before closing time. I decided to forego the expensive taxi home and stumbled my way walking distance to a friend’s place. Smiling the whole way home and woke up with a smile. Why? Finally, what felt like a typical Saturday night(and Sunday morning). Thank you Eclipse.

As other reviewers said, this Eclipse is much better than the other one, less crowded, more space, better music. It is distributed on two floors, I personally like the lower ground floor better. Here there are tables on the sides, a bar on one side and a space in the middle to dance. Music is quite good, gets you in the mood for a clubbing night or can also be the sole destination of a night out. Cocktails are very good, especially the famous Watermelon daiquiri and they also have the Aperol Spritz! Overall a very nice place and a secure destination for a pleasant night.

I really want to like Eclipse: not only is it right around the corner from my flat, putting it in the running as my neighborhood watering hole, but it serves both fresh watermelon drinks and crackbaby shots. This should be a combination destined for awesomeness. Unfortunately, the service is terrible(slow, sloppy, snobby) and the clientele can be equally off-putting. I put in my order at the bar for four watermelon drinks and the bartender told me they would bring it to the table. 30 minutes later and still no drinks, I watched him fill three other orders for the same drinks. He hadn’t forgotten, just«reprioritised». Eventually he sent the drinks over with a round of free shots, but if I’m going to pay 10 per drink at least make it less time then it takes for a pizza to be delivered.

Its the service that brought down the rating here. A friend and I stopped by here for a drink before our dinner reservation. There was no one in the place yet as it was fairly early and every table was empty. We went over to one of the tables and was snapped at by one of the staff that the table was reserved. There was no sign on it and so we asked at what time it was booked. The time she gave us was an hour from then but when we asked if we could just sit there for 1 drink she said no. She then went on to say that all the other tables were booked. So we just ended up by the bar until we could get out of there!

Intimate, nice lighting, good mojito, decent pan-Asian food platter to share. Minus one point for getting the wrong drink(twice) and on behalf of the girl at the table next to me who fell down the awkward step up to the seating by the bar… Ouch. Not the most intelligent place for a step in a bar which, as aforementioned, is somewhat romantically lit.

I like this Eclipse infinitely more than the one on Walton St. In fact, the first time I came here, I actually didn’t even know this Eclipse existed. Ha. It was my third drinking venue of the night and we arrived in a cab — and I thought something was different about the *other* Eclipse’s usual manic-ness. My thoughts went something like this: «my Eclipse is pleasant tonight… so much less crowded and obnoxious than it normally is…» It wasn’t till my friends and I headed downstairs to the dance floor that I started to realize something really fishy was going on «wait a second,» I thought, putting one foot in front of the other as we traipsed down the steps, «Eclipse doesn’t have a dance floor… or a downstairs…» And those things pretty much sum up what this Eclipse has going for it over its sister branch. For starters, you can *move* here — it’s not so packed with people that you feel like you’re in a tin of sardines. It’s the only Eclipse where you can walk without stepping on someone and hear yourself talk. Secondly, the dance floor aspect is great… the music certainly trumps the one non-imbibing activity at the other Eclipse — which is basically shouting at one another. Plus! There’s still Eclipse’s signature wonderfully fresh watermelon martinis — delicious!

The Eclipse in South Kensington is know for their bar keepers been trained in Ibiza, doing the most exotic cocktails. Performing by joggling the glasses and spinning the ice. After a dinner, this place is a good meeting point for a group of friends. As it is so popular there are bouncers at the door, letting only as many people in as there are going out. To be fair, this place is tiny and if it gets too packed you get to step onto each other’s feet. There is a more casual bar on the ground floor; going down the stairs you will find yourself on the dance floor. Not many places around South Ken are open late, however, this one got a license until 2am, which makes you get into the dance move. You will find yourself surrounded by locals and an international mix. I often bump into Greeks and Germans. As Eclipse has more of a lounge feeling to it, you will find yourself talking to people you would otherwise not have met. If you are early enough, the main highlight is the bongo player, which brings rhythm into the bar. I would not plan my night around Eclipse, however, this is a great alternative to consider if you happened not to be on a guest list somewhere else.
