I’ve eaten in a few of the branches of Ed’s, most recently at Euston Piazza before a train journey north. The service is great — attentive but unobtrusive, friendly and efficient. I snagged a window booth despite being on my own as I had a lot of luggage — they even offered to help me with it, rather than moaning about me taking up so much space. Very quick arrival of the food. Great burgers and onion rings and free drinks refills! Reminds me of my favourite diner in America, overall, I love Ed’s and will return again next time I’m in the big smoke!

Only stopped here for a quick shake, which was delicious and creamy as hell, but the staff were attentive and the food smells insane! I’ll definitely be back for a burger! Note: toilets aren’t great and could do with a scrub.

I thought my chicken dippers were absolutely dire and I could have cooked them better myself. I was honestly appalled they were serving me them. The oreo milkshake was lovely but i can’t help but think the food at Ed’s is not good at all.

Having made the trip down to London on the train, and in need of a bit of a snack, we headed over to Ed’s. It’s right outside the station, and they’re pretty inviting with their 50’s Diner vibe. In the mood for nothing more than a hot snack, and the other options around the station looking more like they offer just meals, this is where we headed. I have to admit, I’ve been here before once, and the main reason that I wanted to go back is that I’m a bit of a sucker for American style cheese fries. You know, the kind with the really weird cheese sauce? So, that’s what I got, and they didn’t disappoint. Thick chips(of a slightly oven chippish size for reference), covered in a thick cheese sauce, and generously sprinkled with bacon. Mmmm. Now, don’t go expecting culinary greatness — you aren’t going to get it, and the faux 50’s diner look starts to wear after a while. It’s not the cleanest place in the world(not that I’d saying it’s dirty, it just feels a bit grimy), and that will probably influence a lot of passers-by, but if you make it through the door, and you’re not expecting too much more than ‘reasonable’ it’ll hit the spot.

The service at Eds is almost always great. The staff seem to enjoy their jobs, and in the five years I’ve worked nearby, I’ve noticed some very long-term members of staff. Personally, I only come here for the hot dogs. They remind me very much of hot dogs from back home! The burgers aren’t great, and the chicken has a definite look of Birds Eye. They do a cheese sauce that’s not dissimilar from Cheez Whiz, and I’m not going to lie-I always get some on the side to dip whatever I’m eating in! The sides are generously sized and enough to share. When I go on my own, I get one of the platters, where for around a tenner, you get a few onion rings, a small portion of chips, coleslaw, and a burger or hot dog. So it’s not cheap but it’s not bad for London!

I have written about this place before, but felt the need to update with my latest view with some of my past couple of experiences. Lately this Ed’s Easy Diner has really suffered from its staff obviously not enjoying the job(exhibit A: staff member today saying out loud in front of customers that he couldn’t wait until his shift was over), food quality declining(Exhibit B: I found a hair in my order), cleanliness down(Exhibit C: A leak in cooking oil(?) spilling out to the outdoor patio which I almost slipped in), incorrect order(Exhibit D: My takeaway order today was wrong), and lastly the all important timing of orders. One thing that takes precedence when a place to eat is at a train station is timing. This is not the place to go if timing is of essence.

The food is generally OK(apart from the chips which are dry). The wait is far too long for takeaways. Staff have always seemed friendly and helpful, however!

Staff are really friendly, food was lovely and got served up quickly. I generally come here when I finish work early and waiting for my train. Its reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend Ed’s Easy Diner.

Ok… so when I walked in I sighed and felt nostalgic and homesick. The 50’s music, stainless steel, burgers, shakes, floats, barstools, grease… They got the format down. Unfortunately, their food isn’t that great. I got the Ed’s plate which comes with a burger, fries, onion rings and cole slaw. I’m willing to bet that they have not changed the grease in their fryers since the queen was a teenager. The rating is mainly based on the pleasure of feeling like I was back within the borders of the good ‘ol U S of A.

If you like fried american food then this place is for you. Great Oreo Milk shake. Perfectly fried and seasoned sweet potato fries, which, lets be real-its hard to find in London. The burgers were good, but nothing to write home about. The onion fries were ridiculously good.

Service is pretty rubbish, my vanilla malt milkshake had lumps of malt powder stuck to the sides, it’s overpriced and the burgers are disappointing… But there are still so many worse ways to spend the time waiting for a train than sharing a plate of Atomic American Fries. The fries are crispy and, while the cheddar cheese sauce is one of the vilest things ever, the jalapeño jelly is possibly one of the best. As well as the gross cheese and heavenly jelly, you also get little pots of chilli, sour cream and guacamole. With a generous portion of chips and all those sauces for 4.65, it’s a good value snack to share.

Staff were rude and unhelpful. Didn’t get one smile, lady behind the counter was huffing and puffing, and would obviously have rathered been anywhere but there. We ate a full breakfast, and it was pretty shoddy. Came with no bread or beans, one tiny burned sausage, and the hash brown was rock hard. The coffee was cold. Juke boxes at the table were also out of order. Prices were extortionate.

Milkshakes are worth the visit, cheese fries are not. Squeezy Cheeze poured over dry gigantic english chips. BLEH

when doing some training at learning tree round the corner, eds diner offered some amazing keep back and relax food after a hard day of learning about sharepoint! the décor gives you the impression that all restaurants are like that in America(but im not that naïve). Their open kitchen and seats at the bar impart confidence in the food you eat and and free refills is always a big thumbs up!

Underwhelming I do love a good burger and I’m a regular commuter through Euston so I had been wanting to try this place for a while. The décor and ambiance are very good and are in the 50’s American diner style and the service was generally good if a little rushed. The food, however, was a big disappointment. I went for the big bubba burger, fries and a chocolate milkshake. Burger 6 out of 10 It was much smaller than I was expecting and there was really not that much to it. The beef patty was quite small and dry, there were no onions and the salad consisted of, two slices of gherkin, one slice of tomato and one lettuce leaf. The bacon was well done but again there wasn’t much of it. Fries 3 out of 10 The ‘fries’ were not at all what I was expecting from an American dinner. They’re big thick cut chips and not the French fries that you would expect. They were very dry and not very appealing at all. Milkshake 8 out of 10 Now this is more like it. The milkshake was really something special and it reminded me of the $ 5 shake from Pulp Fiction. This is a proper thick creamy shake which comes in a metal jug and tall glass. A million times better than the half melted ice cream you get at McD’s. The bill came in at £13.30, add on a £2 tip and this meal came in at more than £15! The quality of the food is really no better than you’d get at Little Chef and nothing like what I would expect from a premium burger place. I can get a much better burger for much less at any one of a number of local pubs, and for £15 I could get really good quality steak. Perhaps worth a visit for the milkshake but otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it.

Really nice food. Toilets are none existent, you have to use the staff locker room. Not sure if this is temporary but we couldn’t see any existing. For an American diner to get 5 stars I think the staff need to be American and be on roller skates, but can’t really grumble!

A pretty fun way to spend your time when waiting for a train at Euston. This 50s America style diner is camp as you like, with the prerequisite leatherette booths, jukebox, stools at the counter, and menu of shakes, burgers and hotdogs. The food was surprisingly tasty. It’s like a slightly upscale MacDonalds really — you pay more, so you get a slightly thicker burger made of tastier meat, but it’s still thin and a bit sad looking — the opposite of one of those stacked gastropub burgers which needs a cocktail stick in it to hold all the layers together. The hotdog was very tasty too, but nutritious it aint. I was disappointed that despite being on a plate, everything came in a half open greaseproof paper wrapper(like the white paper bags I filled with sweeties at the corner shop as a child, slit open down one side). I suppose they are supposed to be part of the authentic diner theme, but I felt a little bit insulted because the wrapper underlines the very close similarity to MacDonalds, and although it was certainly tastier, it was not £5 more per item tastier.
